Description
【0001】

BACKGROUND OF THE INVENTION
The present invention relates to an elastic shaft coupling, and more particularly to a compact elastic shaft coupling excellent in vibration absorption.
[0002]
[Prior art]
For example, a steering shaft in a vehicle steering device extends from the interior of the vehicle to the front of the vehicle body, but it is generally difficult to dispose the steering shaft straight due to mounting problems in the vehicle. Therefore, it is a common practice to divide the steering shaft into a plurality of parts, arrange them at an angle, and connect them with a universal joint.
[0003]
FIG. 11 is a diagram showing the intermediate shaft, which is a divided steering shaft, and a universal joint connected thereto, cut in the axial direction. 12 is a diagram of a part of the configuration of FIG. 11 viewed from the side, FIG. 13 is a diagram of the configuration of FIG. 12 taken along line XIII-XIII and viewed in the direction of the arrow, and FIG. Therefore, in view of such problems, the present invention has an object to provide an elastic shaft coupling that is inexpensive and compact while ensuring reliability.
[0015]
[Means for Solving the Problems]
In order to achieve this object, the elastic shaft coupling of the present invention is
A shaft having a protrusion;
A fitting member disposed around the shaft and having a locking portion;
An elastic member fixed between the shaft and the fitting member;
A yoke having a pair of tabs extending parallel to the axis of the shaft;
The fitting member is disposed between the tabs of the yoke;
When the relative rotation between the shaft and the fitting member is equal to or greater than a predetermined angle, the protrusion comes into contact with the locking portion to rotate the shaft and the yoke integrally. .
[0016]
[Action]
According to the elastic shaft coupling of the present invention, since the fitting member is disposed between the tabs of the yoke, the shaft and the fitting member have a compact configuration smaller than the outer diameter of the yoke. When the relative rotation is greater than a predetermined angle, the projection comes into contact with the locking portion and rotates the shaft and the yoke integrally, so that excessive torque is transmitted. When this is done, torsional breakage of the elastic body can be prevented.
