【0001】
CNZ=(Pmin(n)+Pmax(n))/2
【0017】
α=N−CNZ
【0018】
N=CNZ+α
【0022】
θ=k(P−N)
【0048】

BACKGROUND OF THE INVENTION
The present invention relates to a steering angle detection device, and in particular, an improved method for calibrating a steering neutral point of a steering angle sensor.
[0002]
[Prior art]
In general, a steering angle sensor that generates a pulse signal for each predetermined steering angle is used to detect the steering angle of the steering wheel. As a method of detecting the steering neutral point where the vehicle goes straight from the detected steering angle sensor, a delineator (reflective road boundary sign) installed along the road is detected using a laser radar. There is known a steering angle detection device that determines whether or not the vehicle is traveling straight, and calibrates the output of the steering angle sensor with the detected steering angle of the rudder angle sensor at the time of straight traveling as the steering neutral point. (For example, refer to JP-A-10-213446).
[0003]
[Problems to be solved by the invention]
However, since the conventional steering angle detection device detects the straight traveling state of the vehicle every time the vehicle is operated and obtains the steering neutral point, the steering neutral state is detected until the straight traveling state of the vehicle is detected every time the vehicle is operated. Since no points are obtained and the output of the steering angle sensor is not calibrated until then, there is a large detection error of the steering angle, and there is a problem that the control accuracy decreases when various controls of the vehicle are performed using the detected steering angle value.
[0004]
An object of the present invention is to always detect an accurate steering angle.
[0005]
[Means for Solving the Problems]
The present invention will be described with reference to FIGS. 5 to 9 showing the steering angle calculation process of the embodiment.

(6) In the steering angle detection device according to the sixth aspect, the offset is calculated every time the vehicle is operated by the offset calculation means, and the average value of the plurality of offsets is stored by the offset storage means.
[0006]
In the section of the means for solving the above-described problem, a diagram of an embodiment is used for easy understanding of the description. However, the present invention is not limited to the embodiment.
[0007]
【The invention's effect】
(1) According to the first aspect of the present invention, the vehicle is once detected to set the steering neutral point, and the difference between the steering neutral point set value and the neutral position of the steering angle sensor is stored as an offset. Since the steering neutral point is calculated using the stored offset value during subsequent vehicle operations, and the steering angle sensor output is calibrated using the steering neutral point calculated value, the vehicle's straight-ahead state is detected once and offset. Therefore, it is not necessary to detect the straight traveling state of the vehicle every time the vehicle is operated, and an accurate steering angle can always be detected.

In this specification, the steering angle based on the steering neutral point N for moving the vehicle straight is represented by the symbol θ (unit [degree]), and the steering angle θ when the steering is turned right from the steering neutral point N is correct. The steering angle θ when turning to the left is a negative value. The pulse count value of the

[0014]
In order to identify the neutral range NZ that appears for each rotation of the steering wheel, each neutral range NZ is identified with an identification number n. When turning to the right from the point A, the recognition number of the neutral range NZ that appears first is set to 1, and the recognition number of the neutral range NZ that appears next is set to 2. On the contrary, when turning to the left from the point A, the recognition number of the neutral range NZ that appears first is set to -1, and the recognition number of the neutral range NZ that appears next is set to -2. That is, each time the steering wheel is turned right from the initial steering position (point A in the example shown in FIG. 3) and enters the neutral range NZ, the recognition number n is incremented. Each time the neutral range NZ is exited, the identification number n is decremented. Therefore, for example, when the initial steering position is at the left full steering position, the recognition number n is increased to 1, 2, 3,... Is at the right full turning position, the recognition number n is decreased to -1, -2, -3,.
[0015]
FIG. 4 is a diagram showing the relationship between the steering neutral point N and the median value CNZ of the neutral range NZ closest to the steering neutral point N, and the offset α.
Of the pulse count values P at both ends of each neutral range NZ, the smallest pulse count value at the left end is associated with the identification number n of the neutral range NZ and expressed by the symbol Pmin (n) (unit: pulse count value (P)). The maximum pulse count value at the right end is associated with the identification number n of the neutral range NZ and is represented by the symbol Pmax (n) (unit: pulse count value (P)). In the example shown in FIG. 3, the minimum pulse count value of the neutral range NZ with the identification number n = 1 is Pmin (1) = 30, and the maximum pulse count value is Pmax (1) = 70. Further, the minimum pulse count value in the neutral range NZ of the identification number n = −1 is Pmin (−1) = − 290, and the maximum pulse count value is Pmax (−1) = − 330.
[0016]
As shown in FIG. 4, the median value CNZ of the neutral range NZ is obtained by the following equation based on the minimum pulse count value Pmin (n) and the maximum pulse count value Pmax (n) of each neutral range NZ.
[Expression 1]
CNZ = (Pmin (n) + Pmax (n)) / 2
[0017]
When the steering wheel is rotated from the left full steering position to the right full steering position, the vehicle passes through the
[Expression 2]
α = N-CNZ
[0018]
The steering neutral point N is represented by a pulse count value P of the
[0019]
Further, the median value CNZ of the neutral range NZ closest to the steering neutral point N is obtained as follows.
Although it passes through the neutral range NZ for each rotation of the steering wheel, the number of times of entering and exiting each neutral range NZ is represented by the symbol C (n) in association with the recognition number n. This entry / exit number C (n) is not simply incremented by 1 each time entering / exiting each neutral range NZ, but a vehicle speed point v corresponding to the vehicle speed Vsp at the entry / exit shown in Table 1 is added.
[Table 1]
[0020]
Since the vehicle speed point v increases as the vehicle speed Vsp increases, when the vehicle enters the neutral range NZ when the vehicle speed Vsp is high, a large point is added to the number of entry / exit C (n) of the neutral range NZ. Usually, when traveling at high speed, large steering is not performed, and there is a high possibility that the vehicle enters and exits the neutral range NZ closest to the steering neutral point N. The entry / exit count C (n) is a large value. In many cases, large steering is performed during low-speed traveling as compared with high-speed traveling, and the vehicle enters and exits a neutral range NZ other than the neutral range NZ closest to the steering neutral point N. The neutral range NZ having the largest numerical value among the entry / exit times C (n) for each neutral range NZ set in this way is the neutral range NZ closest to the steering neutral point N.
[0021]
Based on the steering neutral point N and the median value CNZ of the neutral range NZ that is closest to the steering neutral point N, if the offset α is obtained from the
[Equation 3]
N = CNZ + α
[0022]
If the steering neutral point N is obtained, the steering angle θ can be calculated by the following equation.
[Expression 4]
θ = k (P−N)
In the above equation, k is a coefficient for converting the pulse count value P of the
[0023]

When entering the neutral range NZ, the routine proceeds to step 32, where it is confirmed whether or not the steering wheel is turned to the right and enters the neutral range NZ. If the neutral position signal rises when the pulse count value P of the
[0028]
If the vehicle enters the neutral range NZ by turning right, the process proceeds to step 33, and the recognition number n of the neutral range NZ is incremented. In the next step 34, the pulse count value P at the time of entering the neutral range NZ by turning right is set to the minimum pulse count value Pmin (n) of the neutral range NZ of the current recognition number n, and by turning right. The vehicle speed point v corresponding to the vehicle speed Vsp at the time of entering the neutral range NZ is added to the number C (n) of entering / exiting the neutral range NZ of the current recognition number n.
[0029]
On the other hand, when the vehicle enters the neutral range NZ by turning left, the process proceeds to step 35, and the pulse count value P when the vehicle enters the neutral range NZ by turning left is used as the maximum pulse count of the neutral range NZ of the current recognition number n. The vehicle speed point v corresponding to the vehicle speed Vsp at the time of entering the neutral range NZ by turning left is added to the number P (n) of entering / exiting the neutral range NZ of the current recognition number n. [0031]
When the neutral range NZ is exited by turning right, the process proceeds to step 37, and the pulse count value P when the neutral range NZ is exited by turning right is determined as the maximum pulse count value Pmax of the neutral range NZ of the current recognition number n. In addition to setting to (n), the vehicle speed point v corresponding to the vehicle speed Vsp at the time of exiting the neutral range NZ by turning right is added to the number C (n) of entering / exiting the neutral range NZ of the current recognition number n.
[0032]
On the other hand, if the neutral range NZ is exited by left steering, the process proceeds to step 38, and the pulse count value P when the neutral range NZ is exited by left steering is determined as the minimum pulse count of the neutral range NZ of the current recognition number n. Set to the value Pmin (n) and add the vehicle speed point v corresponding to the vehicle speed Vsp at the time of leaving the neutral range NZ by left turning to the number of entry / exit C (n) of the neutral range NZ of the current recognition number n To do. In the
[0033]
In step 41, the maximum value and the next largest value of the number of entry / exit C (n) in each neutral range NZ are extracted. In
[0034]
If there is a difference of 16 or more between the maximum value of the number of entry / exit C (n) and the next largest value, the routine proceeds to step 43, where the maximum pulse count value Pmax (n) in the neutral range NZ of the maximum number of times C (n) is the minimum. It is confirmed whether or not the pulse count value Pmin (n) has a value. Since the maximum and minimum pulse count values Pmax (n) and Pmin (n) are initialized to 0 when the ignition is turned on, if any of these values remains 0, the neutral range NZ has been passed through once. Since the median value CNZ cannot be calculated, the program returns to the program shown in FIGS.
[0035]
On the other hand, when the maximum pulse count value Pmax (n) and the minimum pulse count value Pmin (n) in the neutral range NZ of the maximum number C (n) are set, the process proceeds to step 44, where the maximum number C (n) Using the maximum and minimum pulse count values Pmax (n) and Pmin (n) of the neutral range NZ, the median value CNZ of the neutral range NZ that is closest to the steering neutral point N is calculated using

In step 15, the vehicle is judged to go straight by the method described above. If it is determined that the vehicle is traveling straight, the process proceeds to step 16, and if there is no straight travel determination, the process returns to step 14 to repeat the calculation of the steering angle θ.

When it is determined that the vehicle is traveling straight, the pulse count value P of the
[0046]
In this way, once the vehicle is traveling straight, the steering neutral point N is obtained, and the median value CNZ of the neutral range NZ in the vicinity of the steering neutral point N is calculated to be close to the steering neutral point N and the steering neutral point N. The difference from the median value CNZ of the neutral range NZ is stored as an offset α, and the steering neutral point N is obtained by calculation using the stored value of the offset α during subsequent vehicle operations, and the calculated value of the steering neutral point N is calculated. Since the output of the
[0047]
The steering angle θ detected by the steering angle detection device is used for various controls of the vehicle. For example, when a roadside delineator is detected using a scanning or multi-beam laser head, the curvature of the road is calculated based on the detection result, and the following vehicle follow-up control or vehicle behavior control on a curved road is performed. The curvature cannot be calculated on a road without a delineator on the road side, and a curved road cannot be detected. Therefore, when the roadside delineator cannot be detected, it is conceivable to estimate the curvature of the road using the steering angle of the steering wheel and detect the curved road, but if the steering angle is not accurate, the estimation error of the curvature becomes large, The curved road cannot be accurately detected, and the control performance of the preceding vehicle following control and the vehicle behavior control is deteriorated. In such a case, by using the accurate steering angle detected by the steering angle detection device of the present invention, even when the delineator cannot be detected, the accurate road curvature and curved road can be detected, and the preceding vehicle following control and the vehicle It is possible to prevent a decrease in control performance in behavior control.
