本発明は、コルゲートマシンで製造された段ボールシートを積重ねるシート積重装置(スタッカ)に関するものである。

図3は従来のスタッカの概要を示している。図3(a)において、上流側で製造された連続した段ボールシートは、スリッタスコアラ(図示せず)のカットオフ2にて所定の寸法に裁断される。そして、断裁されたシート1は、カットオフ2の排出コンベア2aにより不良紙除去装置3を経てスタッカ4のコンベア5上に排出され、更にコンベア6上を経て積上げ部7に排出される。

【発明が解決しようとする課題】
上述した如く、ダウンスタッカはコンベア6が固定であって、この上に運ばれるシート1の搬送や、これから排出されるシート1の姿勢が安定しているため、積重精度(揃い)が良いという利点がある。しかしながら、その反面、以下のような欠点がある。
すなわち、スタック12の高さが常に最大の高さ位置まで積まれる場合には問題を生じないが、ある生産ロットの終わりとか、或いは生産ロットによっては、数量が高さ一杯に満たない場合がある。このような場合、昇降台8は最下位まで達せず、まだ中間位置にある。したがって、この状態からスタック12を搬出するには、通常の積み替え時間に、昇降台8を最下位まで降ろす時間が加算されるので、その分積み替え時間が長くなってしまう。
