【0052】

DETAILED DESCRIPTION OF THE INVENTION
Embodiments of the present invention will be described below with reference to the accompanying drawings.

[0037]
For example, since the combustion state of the engine is slightly different depending on the cycle even in a very stable and steady operation state, in many cases, when the ion current is used for control, statistical processing of a plurality of cycles is often performed. In the conventional apparatus, statistical processing is individually performed on knocking and combustion state information, but the ion current signal is directly stored in the

It should be noted that an ionic current of an unexpected level may be input during detection signal amplification or during normal operation, in order to protect the engine fuel control device and prevent damage to the
[0042]
FIG. 3 shows a state in which the ion current detection signal is converted into ion current spectrum information by using the Fourier transform shown in the following formula (1), and (A-1) and (A-2) in FIG. The ion current detection signals when the combustion state is good and when the combustion state is unstable are shown, respectively. (B-1) and (B-2) in FIG. 3 show ion current spectrum information when the combustion state is good and when the combustion state is unstable. ing.
[0043]
[Expression 1]
Normally, when the combustion state is good, as shown in (A-1) of FIG. 3, after each frequency component shows a maximum value near the peak a of the ionic current, it shows a characteristic of gradually decaying. However, when the combustion state is unstable, as shown in (A-2) of FIG. 3, the ion current detection signal is greatly undulated, and therefore, depending on the engine and the operating state, the (B-2) of FIG. As indicated by C, a frequency band that greatly increases or decreases appears in the ion current spectrum information. By analyzing these behaviors, it is possible to grasp the combustion state of the engine.
[0044]
In addition, about the frequency in the ion current detection signal which is not used for control, the storage capacity can be reduced by filtering this frequency. Further, if necessary, the ion current detection signal can be reproduced from the ion current spectrum information and used for the control by using the inverse Fourier transform represented by the following expression (2).
[0045]
[Expression 2]
Although gasoline has different properties depending on the season and gasoline manufacturer, optimum control according to the properties of the gasoline is possible by detecting the combustion state by ionic current and detecting the properties of the gasoline.
[0046]
FIG. 4 shows a flow chart of fuel property detection control by ion current. In FIG. 4, first, the combustion state of the current cycle is detected (step 701), data is stored (step 702), and then it is determined whether or not it is an operating state in which the fuel property can be detected (step 702). 703). Since the ionic current has a different combustion state depending on the engine operating state, a predetermined operating state in which a stable combustion state is obtained, for example, oxygen in which the air-fuel ratio A / F of the air-fuel mixture is controlled to the stoichiometric air-fuel ratio 14.7 ( O 2 ) The fuel property determination must be performed with the fuel property detection condition at the time of feedback control.
[0047]
If it is the operation state that matches the detection condition, it is next determined whether or not the condition for determining the combustion state is satisfied (step 704). Although the ion current of the current cycle is detected in a specific stable operation state, the ion current detected for each cycle is not exactly the same, and some fluctuation is observed. Therefore, statistical processing is performed on the ion current signal of the cycle for a predetermined period stored in the
[0048]
FIG. 5 shows ion currents due to differences in fuel properties under the same operating conditions. If the fuel property is heavier than the standard property fuel, combustion proceeds slowly, and conversely if it is lighter, it proceeds faster. Thus, the combustion method changes depending on the fuel properties. The
[0049]
Since it is difficult to accurately detect the crank angle when the engine is started, the fuel injection is controlled mainly by the water temperature as a parameter, and the ignition timing is roughly controlled compared to the normal control such as directly using the crank angle sensor signal. Only done. For this reason, the engine is in an incomplete combustion state at the time of starting, and furthermore, the combustion state varies between cylinders, so that a sufficient torque cannot be obtained and it takes time to start. Therefore, the startability is improved by detecting the combustion state of each cylinder by the ion current and correcting the fuel amount and ignition timing to reduce the increase in torque and the variation between cylinders.
[0050]
FIG. 6 shows a flowchart of the fuel control algorithm at the time of starting. In FIG. 6, first, an initial fuel amount at the time of starting is set (step 901). The amount of fuel here is set to a value smaller than the amount of fuel considered necessary to avoid smoldering of the spark plug. The starter starts to rotate by the ignition key, and fuel injection is started (step 902). Next, the ion current is detected (step 903), and the detected ion current signal is stored in the
