本発明は、用紙を積載させて収容する用紙収容装置に関するものである。

【従来の技術】
用紙を積載させて収容する用紙収容装置は、例えばレーザプリンタや複写機などの給紙装置として用いられている。この種の用紙収容装置においては、単一の用紙収容装置において例えばB5サイズ用紙、B4サイズ用紙、A4サイズ用紙およびA3サイズ用紙の内、選択されたサイズの用紙を収容できるように移動自在な用紙ガイドを備えているのが一般的であり、用紙ガイドの位置決め構成については種々提案がなされている。

用紙ガイドの位置決め構成の1つとして、用紙ガイドに、該用紙ガイドを所定の用紙サイズの位置に位置決めするための位置決め部材を設け、この位置決め部材の先端部を用紙収容装置の用紙支持面などに設けられたスリット部に係合させることにより、用紙ガイドを位置決めする構成が知られている。

【発明が解決しようとする課題】
従来構成においては、B5、B4、A4、A3等の特定サイズの用紙に対しては、用紙ガイドを正確に位置決めさせることができるが、上記特定サイズと異なるサイズの用紙(以下、「不定形用紙」と称する)を使用する場合は対応できず、不定形用紙を使用したい場合には、当該不定形用紙専用の用紙収容装置に取り換えなければならないという問題が生じていた。

本発明の目的は、特定サイズの用紙にしか対応できない用紙収容装置に補助部材を追加することにより、用紙ガイドを任意の位置に位置決めすることが可能となり、不定形用紙にも対応可能となる用紙収容装置を提供することにある。

【課題を解決するための手段】
上記の目的は、予め特定の用紙サイズに対応させてスリット部が形成された用紙支持面と、前記用紙支持面上を移動可能に設けられた用紙ガイドと、前記用紙ガイドに設けられ、前記スリット部に係合することにより、前記用紙ガイドを選択した用紙サイズの位置に位置決めさせる用紙ガイド位置決め部材とを有する用紙収容装置において、所定ピッチのラックを備えたラック部材を前記スリット部に対し着脱自在に設けるとともに、前記用紙ガイド位置決め部材の前記スリット部に装着されたラック部材のラックと対向する部位に、前記ラックと係合可能なラックを有するラック部を設けることにより達成される。

【発明の実施の形態】
以下、実施例の実施例を図面を用いて説明する。
図1は本発明の用紙収容装置の要部断面図、図2は本発明の用紙収容装置の全体斜視図、図3は本発明の用紙収容装置の要部拡大斜視図、図4はラック部材の全体斜視図である。なお、本実施例においては用紙収容装置を給紙装置に用いられる給紙ホッパを例示して説明する。

図2に示すように、給紙ホッパAは、用紙支持面4と、用紙支持面4上を移動可能に設けられた用紙ガイド2と、用紙ガイド2に設けられ、後に説明するスリット部に係合することにより用紙ガイド2を選択した用紙サイズの位置に位置決めさせる用紙ガイド位置決め部材1とを備えており、側面に設けられた案内部材8,9が給紙装置本体(図示せず)に設けられたレールに係合支持されることにより、給紙ホッパAは給紙装置本体に対し引き出し自在に設けられる。

用紙ガイド位置決め部材1と用紙ガイド2とは、図3に示すスプリング5と、回転部2aによって連結されており、スプリング5の一端は用紙ガイド位置決め部材1の一部に着脱可能に取り付けられ、スプリング5の他端は用紙ガイド2の一部に取り付けられている(図3は用紙ガイド2を破断した状態で図示しているが、実際は用紙ガイド2は図1のような形状構成をしており、スプリング5の他端は用紙ガイド2の裏面に取り付けられている)。また、用紙支持面4には予め特定の用紙サイズに対応させてスリット部4aが形成されている。

スリット部4aには、図4に示すように所定ピッチのラック3aを備えたラック部材3が装着可能であり、ラック部材3に形成された突起部3bをスリット部4aに係合させることにより図1に示すようにラック部材3がセットされる。また、用紙ガイド位置決め部材1の、スリット部4aに装着されたラック部材3のラック3aと対向する部位には、ラック3aと係合可能なラックを有するラック部1aが設けられており、ラック部材3のラック3aとラック部1aのラックとが噛み合って用紙ガイド2が位置決めされる。さらに、用紙ガイド位置決め部材1はスプリング5によりラック部材3側に圧接され確実に用紙ガイド2が位置決めされる。なお、図1において7は用紙支持面4に積載収容された用紙である。
