Description
【0001】

[Industrial applications]
The present invention relates to a coaxial cable, and more particularly to a high foam coaxial cable using a synthetic resin (polyethylene) having a high foaming rate as an insulator forming the coaxial cable.
[0002]
[Prior art]
A coaxial cable that uses a foam material injected into polyethylene to form an insulator with a high degree of foaming and uses this insulator as the dielectric of the coaxial cable has a dielectric loss that is lower than that of a coaxial cable that uses ordinary polyethylene as the insulator. And the transmission characteristics are significantly improved.
[0003]
Currently, as the foaming material, chlorofluorocarbon (Fluoro Cabon), which is a compound of carbon and fluorine, hydrogen, and chlorine (CHClF 2 ), which is usually called chlorofluorocarbon gas, is used. Degree has been achieved. By the way, the above-mentioned CFCs gasify at a low boiling point and become a colorless and odorless stable gas. When this gas is released into the atmosphere, reaches the stratosphere, and is decomposed by ultraviolet rays, it generates chlorine atoms and destroys the ozone layer. Global environmental problems are occurring.
[0004]
[Problems to be solved by the invention]
Therefore, various types of inert gas that can be injected into polyethylene to obtain high foaming properties instead of CFC have been sought, but it is extremely difficult to obtain an inert gas having high solubility corresponding to CFC. .
In addition, if an inert gas having low solubility is used, it becomes difficult to sufficiently knead the polyethylene and the gas in an extruder that coats the insulator on the center conductor, and the insulator having uniform bubbles is formed. There is a problem that molding cannot be performed.
[0005]
[Means for Solving the Problems]
The present invention has been made for the purpose of solving such a problem, and includes an inner conductor, an insulator covered so as to surround the inner conductor with a predetermined thickness around the inner conductor, and In a coaxial cable comprising an outer conductor coated on the outer peripheral surface, a high-density polyethylene and a low-density polyethylene are mixed as the insulator, and a mixed gas comprising nitrogen gas and carbon dioxide gas as an inert gas instead of chlorofluorocarbon. Is used to extrude an insulator having a foaming degree of 70% or more.
[0006]
The mixed gas is 60% to 95% of nitrogen gas and 5% to 40% of carbon dioxide. The insulator is 75% to 98% or more of high density polyethylene and 2% to 25% of low density polyethylene. Ratio.
Further, the utility as a coaxial cable is enhanced by bonding the insulator and the outer conductor with a hot melt type adhesive.
[0007]
[Action]
By mixing nitrogen gas (N 2 ) having a low solubility in polyethylene and carbon dioxide gas (CO 2 ) having a high compression / expansion ratio at a predetermined ratio, bubbles having a foaming degree of 70% or more and relatively uniform bubbles are obtained. Extrusion molding of an insulator having

The degree of foaming W is expressed as the weight P M per unit of the foamed insulator molded by injecting the mixed gas as a foam material into an extruder with respect to the weight P 0 per unit of the insulator extruded and molded only with polyethylene. When W is defined as W = (1− (P M / P O ) × 100%, the ratio of nitrogen gas is 60% to 95% and is shown in the cross section of FIG. Experiments have established that an insulator with some degree of uniform foaming is extruded.
[0012]
Further, the present invention provides high-density polyethylene and low-density polyethylene as high-density polyethylene as high-density polyethylene as high-density polyethylene, thereby improving the homogeneity of bubbles and increasing the foamability. .
FIG. 6 is a graph showing the relationship between the mixing ratio of low density polyethylene (0.910 to 0.929) and high density polyethylene (0.945 or more) and the degree of foaming. It was confirmed that when the percentage of polyethylene was 75% to 98%, the foam cell could extrude an insulator having discontinuous closed cells.

When chlorofluorocarbon is used as a foam material, chlorofluorocarbon gas easily dissolves in polyethylene, so the difference between the data A of the external dimensions when the gear pump is not used and the data B of the external dimensions when the gear pump is used is extremely small. The variation in the dimensions in the X and Y directions) is suppressed to 0.05 mm or less on average.
However, when the mixed gas is extruded together with the polyethylene without using the gear pump, as shown in data C, the variation in the external dimensions is reduced to about 0.2 mm.
In this case, as shown in the apparatus of the present invention, when the discharge amount of the foamed polyethylene is quantified using the
[0026]
The apparatus for manufacturing the cable according to the present invention has been described above. However, the coaxial cable according to the present invention is not limited to the above-described apparatus, and a general method for manufacturing a coaxial cable can be applied.
[0027]
【The invention's effect】
The coaxial cable of the present invention as described above can have a cable characteristic comparable to that of a coaxial cable using fluorocarbon gas as a foam material without using fluorocarbon gas, which is a problem in terms of environmental destruction in the future, and can be used for practical purposes. In this respect, it is extremely effective.
In addition, the use of inexpensive gaseous mixture of carbon dioxide and nitrogen as inert gas reduces the cost of cable production and improves the global environment by completely eliminating chlorofluorocarbon, which is an environmental problem. In addition, it can greatly contribute to the spread of multimedia.
[0028]
In addition, since the outer conductor of the coaxial cable and the foamed insulator are fixed and integrated, it is possible to prevent water running under severe environmental conditions, and to integrate the insulator and the cable. This has the advantage of improving the life cycle of the cable.
