TECHNICAL FIELD OF THE INVENTION
The present invention relates to a method and an apparatus for measuring the number of passing vehicles that measure the number of vehicles detected by a sensor that senses vehicles installed on a road.

FIG. 11 shows the shape of the clean pulse generated by the clean pulse generating means 103 and 104 from the sensing pulse. Short ON pulses (abnormal short pulses) whose ON time is less than T ON-MIN , such as pulse (2) in the figure, are converted into OFF pulses by the clean pulse generation means 103, 104, An OFF pulse (pulse crack) whose OFF time is less than T OFF-MIN , such as an OFF pulse sandwiched between (4) and pulse (5), is converted into an ON pulse. The clean pulse is generated in order to eliminate the effect of noise picked up on the transmission path and the effect of temporarily generating an OFF pulse at the joint of the truck with the carrier.

FIG. 13 illustrates an example of measuring the number of pulses of the clean pulse and the speed pulse. The pulse number measuring means 106, 107, and 108 determine that one vehicle has passed when the pulse changes from ON to OFF, and increase the value of the counter by one. When a predetermined time T comes, the value of the counter at that time is output as the number of pulses, and the counter is reset. By such processing, the number of upstream clean pulses Q S , the number of downstream clean pulses, and the number of downstream clean pulses are determined by the pulse number measuring means 106, 107, and 108 at predetermined time intervals for the upstream clean pulse, the downstream clean pulse, and the speed pulse. pulse number Q R, the speed pulse number Qv is output.

[0008]
[Problems to be solved by the invention]
However, in the above-mentioned conventional passing vehicle number measurement device, any one of the upstream side clean pulse number, the downstream side clean pulse number, and the speed pulse number is treated as the number of passing vehicles, so that the vehicle actually passes below the sensor. Also, the value of the number of passing vehicles may be smaller. For example, the following is the case.
(1) When the number of upstream-side clean pulses is the number of passing vehicles, it is not possible to measure a vehicle that is changing lanes as shown in FIG. The sensing pulse when the vehicle moves as shown in FIG. 14 is as shown in FIG. Since the upstream-side sensing pulse is not generated even though the vehicle is passing, this vehicle is not counted as the number of passing vehicles. Also, the sensing pulse when the vehicle moves as shown in FIG. 15 is as shown in FIG. 16, and this vehicle is not counted as the number of passing vehicles.
(2) When the number of vehicles passing the downstream-side clean pulse is the number of passing vehicles, it is not possible to measure a vehicle that is changing lanes as shown in FIG. FIG. 19 shows the sensing pulses when the vehicle moves as shown in FIG. Since the downstream sensing pulse is not generated even though the vehicle is passing, this vehicle is not counted as the number of passing vehicles. Also, the sensing pulse when the vehicle moves as shown in FIG. 18 is also as shown in FIG. 19, and this vehicle is not counted as the number of passing vehicles.
(3) When the number of speed pulses is the number of passing vehicles, it is not possible to measure a vehicle that is changing lanes as shown in FIGS. 14 and 17 or running in one side as shown in FIGS. 15 and 18. The sensing pulse when the vehicle moves as shown in FIG. 14 is as shown in FIG. 16, and the sensing pulse when the vehicle moves as shown in FIG. 17 is as shown in FIG. Since no speed pulse is generated even though the vehicle is passing, this vehicle is not counted as the number of passing vehicles. The sensing pulse when the vehicle moves as shown in FIG. 15 is as shown in FIG. 16, and the sensing pulse when the vehicle moves as shown in FIG. 18 is as shown in FIG. Also in this case, the vehicle is not counted as the number of passing vehicles.
[0009]
On the road, a few percent of all traveling vehicles are traveling as described above, and thus are not measured as passing vehicles at present. In particular, at a merging point near an entrance or the like, lane changes, side-to-side running, and the like are frequently performed, and the tendency of undercounting appears more remarkably. However, it is necessary to calculate the exact number of passing vehicles for the purpose of traffic control evaluation and evaluation of the effect of line extension work.
[0010]
SUMMARY OF THE INVENTION The present invention has been made to solve the above-described problem, and has as its object to provide a traffic flow measurement method and a traffic flow measurement device capable of generating a more accurate number of passing vehicles.
[0011]
[Means for Solving the Problems]
In order to solve the above problems, the present invention provides upstream clean pulse number Q S as the passing number of vehicles, the downstream clean pulse number Q R, rather than using one of the values of the velocity pulse number Qv, Qe = Q and calculates a passing vehicle number Qe in S + Q R -Qv made wherein Accordingly, it is possible to measure the exact passage number of vehicles.
[0012]
BEST MODE FOR CARRYING OUT THE INVENTION
According to the first aspect of the present invention, the number of upstream-side clean pulses QS and the number of downstream-side clean pulses obtained by processing pulses output from two sensing heads installed at a constant interval on the same lane of a road are determined. Using the number of side clean pulses QR and the number of speed pulses Qv representing the number of vehicles generated based on the number of pulses sensed by the two sensing heads, the number of passing vehicles Qe on the same lane is calculated by the equation Qe = QS + is intended RiMotomu Mel by the QR -qv, the number of vehicle sensed only on the upstream side sensing head (QS -Qv), the number of vehicle sensed only on the downstream side sensing head (QR -qv) , The sum of the numbers Qv of the vehicles sensed by both sensing heads (QS−Qv) + (QR−Qv) + Qv = QS + QR−Qv, and the number of all vehicles passing under the sensor (the number of passing vehicles) Qe By doing Thus, a vehicle that could not be measured conventionally can be measured.

(Embodiment)
FIG. 1 is a block diagram showing one embodiment of the present invention. In FIG. 1, reference numeral 10 denotes a pulse number measuring device.
[0019]
The operation of the passing vehicle number measuring device configured as described above will be described below. The
[0020]
The sensing pulses output from the sensing heads 11 and 12 are converted by the clean pulse generating means 13 and 14 into clean pulses as shown in FIG. FIG. 2 is a flowchart showing the operation of the clean pulse generation means. First, in
[0021]
Using the clean pulses output from the upstream and downstream clean pulse generating means 13 and 14, the speed pulse generating means 15 generates a speed pulse as shown in FIG. FIG. 3 is a flowchart showing the operation of the speed pulse generating means. First, in
[0022]
The pulse number measuring means 16, 17, 18 reads the pulses from the upstream and downstream clean pulse generating means 13, 14 and the speed pulse generating means 15, respectively, and counts the number of ON pulses. When the measurement of the pulse for a certain time is completed, the counter value is output and the counter is reset. FIG. 4 is a flowchart showing this operation. In

Thus, the number of vehicle sensed only on the upstream side sensing head (Q S -Qv), the number of vehicle sensed only on the downstream side sensing head (Q R -Qv), sensing both sense head with are number Qv sum of the vehicle (Q S -Qv) + (Q R -Qv) + Qv = Q S + Q R -Qv total number of vehicles passed under sensor (the passage number of vehicles) Qe Thus, a vehicle that could not be measured conventionally can be measured. FIG. 6 illustrates this. In FIG. 6, the vehicles represented by the pulses (1) and (4) are vehicles detected by both the upstream and downstream sensing heads. The vehicle represented by the pulse (2) is a vehicle detected only by the upstream sensing head, and the vehicle represented by the pulse (3) is a vehicle detected only by the downstream sensing head. When the number of upstream clean pulses is the number of passing vehicles, three vehicles, when the number of downstream clean pulses is the number of vehicles passing, three vehicles, and when the number of speed pulses is the number of vehicles passing, two vehicles. Even though four cars have passed, the value is smaller than that. However, the case of the passing vehicle number of Q S + Q R -Qv becomes four, match the number of actually passing vehicle.
[0025]
The passing vehicle number Qe calculated by the passing vehicle number calculation means 21 is stored by the calculation result storage means 22 and used for creating various traffic information.
[0026]
As described above, according to the above embodiment, by passing vehicles number calculating means 21 calculates the passing vehicle number Qe upstream sensing pulse number Q S, the downstream sensing pulse number Q R, from the speed pulse number Qv Therefore, the number of vehicles detected by either the upstream sensing head or the downstream sensing head can be accurately measured.
[0027]
Although an ultrasonic sensor is used here as the sensing head, a similar effect can be obtained by using a loop coil, a photoelectric sensor, or the like. Further, by inserting transmission means between the respective means of the present invention, it is possible to configure a plurality of devices, each of which can be separately installed on a road, in a control center, or the like. For example, FIG. 7 shows a configuration example in which the pulse number measuring means 16, 17, and 18 are provided in the pulse number measuring device 10 on the road, and the pulse
[0028]
【The invention's effect】
As apparent from the above description, according to the present invention, the number of vehicle sensed only on the upstream side sensing head (Q S -Qv) the number of vehicles sensed only on the downstream side sensing head (Q R - and Qv), the number Qv sum (Q S -qv both vehicles sensed in the sensing head) + (Q R -Qv) + Qv = Q S + Q R -Qv total number of vehicles passed under sensor a By setting (the number of passing vehicles) to Qe, vehicles that could not be measured conventionally can be measured, and the number of passing vehicles can be accurately measured.
