演算時間n=TS―t
【0038】
Dn―Rn−1<A…(1)
Rn=Dn…(2)
Pn=DA(TS―n)―Rn…(3)
Rn=Rn−1+A…(4)
Rn=Rn−1…(5)

TECHNICAL FIELD OF THE INVENTION
According to the present invention, a light pulse is incident from one end of an optical fiber to be measured, backscattered light emitted from the optical fiber to be measured is detected, and light of the measured object is determined by using characteristics of the backscattered light. The present invention relates to an optical pulse test device (OTDR) for performing various characteristics tests on fibers.

[0013]
As a result, the measurement accuracy of the backscattered light characteristic obtained by the optical pulse test apparatus is reduced, and the calculation accuracy of various characteristics and an abnormal position of the optical fiber to be measured using the backscattered light characteristic is reduced.
[0014]
The present invention has been made in view of such circumstances, and uses the difference between the change rate of the backscattered light with respect to the elapsed time and the change rate of the trailing current with respect to the elapsed time to output the light from the light receiver. It is an object of the present invention to provide an optical pulse test apparatus capable of reliably removing a signal component caused by a tailing current from an electric signal, and greatly improving measurement accuracy of backscattered light characteristics.
[0015]
[Means for Solving the Problems]
According to the present invention, an optical pulse emitted from a light source unit is incident on an optical fiber to be measured through an optical splitter, and backscattered light emitted from the optical fiber to be measured is received by a light receiver through an optical splitter. The present invention is applied to an optical pulse test apparatus that receives light, converts it into an electric signal, and obtains the characteristics of backscattered light from the converted electric signal.
[0016]
In order to solve the above problem, in the optical pulse test apparatus of the present invention, there is provided a clock circuit for transmitting a clock signal for measuring an elapsed time from an emission time of an optical pulse, and an emission of an optical pulse from a light receiver. Measured value memory that stores the measured values of each elapsed time in the electric signal output as time elapses from the time at a fixed interval in synchronization with the clock signal, and a correction value corresponding to the trailing current of the light receiver at each elapsed time Correction value calculating means for calculating the correction value based on the measurement value stored in the measurement value memory at the corresponding elapsed time and the correction value at the previous elapsed time, and the measurement at each elapsed time stored in the measurement value memory. Characteristic value calculating means for subtracting the calculated correction value at each elapsed time from the value to calculate the characteristic value of the backscattered light at each elapsed time.
Further, the correction value calculating means may determine that the difference between the measured value at an arbitrary elapsed time and the correction value at the next elapsed time after the corresponding elapsed time is equal to or less than a unit amount determined by the degree of change of the tailing current. Is a measured value at the corresponding elapsed time.
When the difference between the measured value at an arbitrary elapsed time and the correction value at the elapsed time immediately before the elapsed time exceeds a unit amount determined by the degree of change of the trailing current, the correction value calculating unit calculates the corresponding elapsed time. Is a value obtained by adding the unit amount to the correction value at the immediately preceding elapsed time.
[0017]
The operation principle of the optical pulse test apparatus thus configured will be described.
As described with reference to FIG. 8B, the tailing signal for the tailing current has a low level but continues for a long time. The degree of change of the tailing signal with respect to the elapsed time is very small as compared with the degree of change of the electric signal corresponding to the original backscattered light with respect to the elapsed time.
[0018]
When a specified time that allows the backscattered light to be considered to have sufficiently attenuated has elapsed from the light pulse emission time, the tailing signal greatly exceeds the electrical signal corresponding to the original backscattered light. The value of the electric signal at this specified time can be regarded as the value of the tailing signal with respect to the tailing current.
[0019]
Therefore, from the electrical signal output from the photodetector, the tailing signal for the tailing current, that is, when determining the correction value at each elapsed time, each correction value existing in the direction going back the lapse time from the correction value at the specified time. It can be obtained sequentially.
[0020]
Therefore, in the present invention, the correction value at each elapsed time is calculated based on the measured value at the corresponding elapsed time and the correction value at the immediately preceding elapsed time.
[0023]
Further, in another invention, the correction value calculation means in the optical pulse test apparatus of the invention described above,
When the difference between the measured value at an arbitrary elapsed time and the correction value at the preceding elapsed time of the corresponding elapsed time is equal to or less than a unit amount determined by the degree of change of the tailing current, the correction value at the corresponding elapsed time is calculated at the corresponding elapsed time. , And
The measured value at an arbitrary elapsed time is equal to or less than a predetermined reference value of a magnitude that can ignore the increase in the trailing current, and the measured value at the arbitrary elapsed time and the elapsed time one time ahead of the elapsed time If the difference from the correction value in exceeds the unit amount determined by the degree of change of the tailing current, the correction value at the corresponding elapsed time is a value obtained by adding the unit amount to the correction value at the immediately preceding elapsed time,
If the measured value at an arbitrary elapsed time exceeds a predetermined reference value that is large enough to ignore the increase in the trailing current, the correction value at the relevant elapsed time is corrected at the next elapsed time after the relevant elapsed time. Value.

When it is less than the unit amount A, the measured value D n is sufficiently small, the change is small, the correction value R n and the measured value D n (S8).
R n = D n (2)
Then, the calculated correction value R n at the current calculation time n is written into the correction value memory 16 (S9). Furthermore, by starting characteristic
P n = DA (T S -n ) -R n ... (3)
Or more, since the calculation process of the characteristic value P n in one calculation time n is completed, in S11, it updates the calculation time n (n = n + 1) . If the updated operation time n does not exceed the final operation time n E (= T S ), the process returns to S5, where the measured value D n of the updated operation time n is read from the measured
[0040]
Then, in S7, when the value obtained by subtracting the correction value R n-1 from the measured value D n exceeds the unit amount A stored in the set value memory 18, as shown in FIG. It is determined that the component of the included backscattered light has increased. Then, the correction value correction value a value obtained by adding the unit amount A to R n-1, R n previous calculation time stored in the correction value memory 16 (n-1) of the current calculation time n (S13 ).
R n = R n-1 + A (4)
Then, write the correction value R n of calculation time n of the calculated time to the characteristic value memory 16 (S9).
[0041]
Further, at S6, the measurement value D n of the current calculation time n is, exceeds the reference value Dm stored in the set value memory 18, as shown in FIG. 2, the back-scattered light included in the electric signal c It is determined that the component is sufficiently large and the increase in the tailing current can be ignored. Then, the correction value R n-1 of the current calculation time n of the correction value R n of the previous operation time stored in the correction value memory 16 (n-1) (S14 ).
R n = R n-1 (5)
Then, write the correction value R n of calculation time n of the calculated time to the characteristic value memory 16 (S9).
[0042]
[0043]
In the optical pulse test apparatus configured as described above, as shown in the enlarged view of FIG. 2, as a method of calculating a correction value R corresponding to a tailing current included in the electric signal c output from the
[0044]
In this case, initially, the component of the backscattered light b included in the measured value D n (electric signal c) is very small, and most of the components are components corresponding to the tail current. Accordingly, and the measured value D n of the correction value R n in this section.
[0045]
Next, when the degree of increase of the measured value D n (electric signal c) exceeds the degree of increase of the tailing current (unit amount A), the amount of increase of the correction value R n is limited to the unit amount A.
[0046]
Then, when the measured value D n (electric signal c) reaches the specified value Dm, the component of the backscattered light b included in the measured value D n (electric signal c) is sufficiently large, and the increase in the tailing current is reduced. is negligible, it stops the increase of the correction value R n.
[0047]
Therefore, as shown in FIG. 3A, the correction value R corresponding to the tailing current included in the measured value D (electric signal c) is accurately calculated. As a result, as shown in FIG. 3B, the component corresponding to the tail current was removed, and the characteristic P of the backscattered light b including only the component of the backscattered light b could be measured with high accuracy. .

【The invention's effect】
As described above, the optical pulse test apparatus of the present invention utilizes the difference between the rate of change of the backscattered light with respect to the elapsed time and the rate of change of the trailing current with respect to the elapsed time to obtain the electrical output from the light receiver. The signal component caused by the tailing current is removed from the signal. Therefore, the measurement accuracy of the backscattered light characteristics can be greatly improved.
