一般的に、歌詞及びカラオケ曲と共に背景画像を提供する通信カラオケシステムは、背景画像再生機能を具備しないカラオケ端末機に、多数の背景画像情報が収録された記録媒体を具備する遠隔制御可能な背景画像再生装置を接続して使用するものが多い。

本発明は上記の問題を解決するためなされたものであり、その目的とするところは、一台のインターフェイスで総ての規格の背景画像再生装置に対応し得る通信カラオケシステムを提供することにある。

【課題を解決するための手段】
上記の目的は、
データベースと、データベースから送信されたカラオケ情報に含まれる背景画像選択信号に応じて選択された背景画像情報を、通信カラオケ装置に接続された背景画像再生装置から受け入れ、カラオケ情報中の歌詞情報と重畳し、両者の複合画像をディスプレイすると共に、カラオケ音楽を再生するタイプのカラオケ端末機を含む通信カラオケシステムにおいて、下記の構成要素を具備した通信カラオケシステムによって達成される。
（１）市販されている背景画像再生装置の少なくとも主要な機種の遠隔制御データを記録し、要求に応じてカラオケ装置に送信し得る遠隔制御データベース。
（２）カラオケ端末機と組み合わせて使用する背景画像再生装置の機種を指定し、その機種の遠隔制御データの送信を遠隔制御データベースに要求し、受信した遠隔制御データを記録して、使用する背景画像再生装置を制御するインターフェイス。

上記の如き構成であると、インターフェイスが背景画像選択信号をあらゆる規格の遠隔制御信号に変換し得るので、背景画像再生装置の規格が変わってもインターフェイスを交換する必要がない。
