【0001】

[Industrial applications]
The present invention relates to an apparatus for recording continuous data on an optical disk.
[0002]
[Prior art]
In data recording on a conventional optical disk device, if there is an uncorrectable defective sector on the disk as described in the JIS X 6271 130 mm rewritable optical disk cartridge standard, replacement is performed as soon as the defective sector is reached. The data to be recorded in the defective sector is recorded by seeking to the sector, and the subsequent data is recorded again after seeking again to the sector immediately after the defective sector. It also states that when a defective sector is detected in advance and registered in the memory, the recording is performed skipping that sector. If these processes are performed when a defective sector is reached, the recording will be discontinuous for the seek time to the replacement sector. Will be missing. In computer applications, there is no problem because data is recorded while handshaking, but in the case of high-speed continuous data recording such as image data, the discontinuity of the recording causes loss of reproduced images, It becomes a problem. In order to prevent this from happening, it was necessary to add a strong correction code so as not to cause uncorrectable, and at the same time, to select a disk without uncorrectable large omission.
[0003]
[Problems to be solved by the invention]
When recording continuous data with a conventional optical disk device, it is necessary to add a strong error correction code in order to avoid such defects on the disk. In this case, there is a problem in that a strong correction code is added for a defect that appears rarely, so that the redundancy is increased and the amount of data that can be recorded is reduced. In addition, there are cases where the ability of the correction code is limited and a large defect cannot be corrected. When discs having no such large defects that cannot be corrected are selected, a decrease in the yield of the discs has become a problem.
[0004]
SUMMARY OF THE INVENTION The present invention has been made to solve the above problems, and when recording continuous data, an optical disk capable of recording continuous data without interruption even if there is a large uncorrectable defect on the disk It is intended to obtain a recording device.

[0011]
[Action]
According to the first aspect of the present invention, since continuous data is input to the FIFO memory and reading from the FIFO memory is stopped when a defective sector of the optical disk is detected, the optical disk has a large uncorrectable defect. Even in this case, continuous data can be recorded without apparent interruption, and the performance is improved.

The operation of this embodiment will be described with reference to FIG. The recording sector numbers in the figure are serial numbers from the recording start sector. It is assumed that one rotation of the disk is 5 sectors, and one uncorrectable sector is 1 or less during one rotation. Therefore, the number of revolutions of the disk is increased to 5/4 times as compared with the conventional number of revolutions. When input data for four sectors is input, five sectors can be recorded on the disk. FIG. 6A shows the operation when there is no defect. Here, recording starts when the

[0031]
As described above, according to the present invention, even when the seek operation period of each channel is different, the recording data distributed to each channel can be recorded almost simultaneously on each channel, and the FIFO by pre-recording only one channel can be used. An increase in memory capacity can be avoided. In order to start recording in accordance with the specified track / sector address, after the seek operation of each channel is completed, the still operation is performed at the position including the specified address until the completion of all seek operations, and the recording command is received. The recording may be started from the specified address immediately after the recording. By distributing and recording the data on a plurality of channels, continuous data can be recorded even when there is an uncorrectable sector in response to input data having a high data rate which is a multiple of the data rate of one channel. Needless to say, the effect on defects in each channel is the same as in the first embodiment. In this embodiment, a plurality of disks are rotated by one spindle. However, a plurality of disks may be rotated while rotating a plurality of spindles in synchronization.

FIG. 10 shows a fifth embodiment of the present invention. As in the case of the fourth embodiment, this is an apparatus for distributing and recording input data on a plurality of
[0033]
The operation has been described in the second embodiment and the fourth embodiment, so that the details are omitted. In this embodiment, the FIFO memory capacity of each channel may be at least two sectors. Further, since the recording interruption processing of one sector is always performed for one rotation, the recording time and the track / sector position are uniquely determined irrespective of the amount of uncorrectable defects, so that there is a merit that the address management becomes easy. In particular, even in the case of a combination of disks having different uncorrectable sector ratios, one sector is always skipped in one rotation, so that the recording is performed on the sector numbers that are substantially the same among the disks. On the other hand, there is an advantage that the recording start or recording end address can be managed by one unified address. However, in this embodiment, not only the uncorrectable sector but also one sector is used for one replacement per rotation, so that the recording capacity is reduced.
[0034]
FIG. 11 shows a sixth embodiment of the present invention. As in the case of the fourth embodiment, this is an apparatus for distributing and recording input data on a plurality of
[0035]
The operation has been described in the third embodiment and the fourth embodiment, so that the details are omitted. In the present embodiment, the FIFO memory capacity of each channel is required for one rotation, but the sectors on which recording is skipped are only uncorrectable sectors on the disk, and the recording capacity can be used as efficiently as possible. Further, since the recording is performed while managing the FIFO memory remaining capacity, 4/5 times the input data rate f 2 of each channel below, i.e., the input speed to the distribution proc is able to accommodate any speed twice that Needless to say.
[0037]
【The invention's effect】
As described above, according to the present invention, a distribution circuit that distributes input data to a plurality of channels, a FIFO that continuously writes the distributed data, a defective sector detection circuit that detects a defective sector of each disk, A gate circuit for stopping reading from the FIFO during the period of the defective sector of each disk and a seek completion detecting circuit for detecting the completion of seek of each channel are provided. Since the recording is performed on the disc, even if there is a large uncorrectable defect, high-speed continuous data can be recorded without interruption with a small FIFO amount.
