本発明は、カメラ一体型VTRの手振れ防止や自動車のナビゲーションシステムなどに用いられるジャイロスコープの内、特に、圧電振動子の超音波振動を用いた、いわゆる圧電振動ジャイロに関する。

【従来の技術】
図8は、従来の振動ジャイロに用いられる音片振動子の構造概略を示す斜視図である。音片振動子を用いた振動ジャイロは、音片振動子の屈曲振動モードを利用しており、屈曲振動モードを励振するために、エリンバー等の恒弾性金属振動体に圧電セラミック薄板を接着している。

音片振動子31の隣り合う面に、駆動および検出用の圧電セラミック薄板32、33が接着されている。駆動用の圧電セラミック薄板32にこの音片振動子31の共振周波数にほぼ等しい周波数の交流電圧を印加すると、振動子は駆動振動面に沿って振動する。

音片振動子31は、その屈曲振動の節点線34上で金属支点35の溶着等により固定されている。駆動、検出用の圧電セラミック薄板32,33に半田付けされた入出力用のリード線36は、励振振動への影響をなるべく少なくするように、節点線34上まで引き回して、そこから外部に引き出される。

【発明が解決しようとする課題】
ところで、従来の振動ジャイロには、金属ケースが使われていることが多い。そのため、図5に示すように、振動ジャイロを外部基板26に取り付ける場合、固定用の爪24を折り曲げ、または半田付けしなければならなかった。

また、振動子が金属であるため、外部からの電磁的ノイズの影響を受けやすい。そこで、この外部ノイズを遮蔽するためにケーシングし、それをアース接地することによってシールドしなければならないという欠点があった。

本発明の課題は、前記金属ケースを用いずに、外部基板に固定する機能を有する樹脂ケースを用いて、低コストの圧電振動ジャイロを提供することにある。

【課題を解決するための手段】
本発明によれば、円柱状圧電セラミックからなる振動子を具備したホルダーに衝撃緩衛用のシリコンダンパーを両端に装着した振動子ユニットと駆動・検出回路を収納する、一外側面に数本の入出力用の信号端子ピンとともに1個あるいは数個の外部基板固定用の爪を有する金属薄板金具を一体成形した樹脂ケースを用いることを特徴とする圧電振動ジャイロが得られる。

【発明の実施の形態】
以下、本発明の実施の形態について、実施例を用いて説明する。
図1は、本発明の振動ジャイロに用いられる樹脂ケースを示す説明図であり、図1(a)は斜視図、図1(b)は断面図である。
図2は、本発明の振動ジャイロに用いられる樹脂ケースの金属薄板金具を示す斜視図であり、図2(a)は、2脚の金属薄板金具の斜視図、図2(b)は、コ字形の金属薄板金具の斜視図、図2(c)は、H字形の金属薄板金具の斜視図である。
図3は、本発明の圧電振動ジャイロに用いられる振動子、支持具及び振動子を組み込んだホルダーの構造を示す斜視図である。図3(a)は振動子の斜視図、図3(b)は支持具の斜視図、図3(c)は振動子を組み込んだホルダの斜視図である。
図4は、本発明の圧電振動ジャイロの構造概略を示す斜視図である。

本発明の圧電振動ジャイロは、図3、図4に示すように、円柱状圧電セラミックの振動子6を支持具11の貫通孔12に挿入し、前記支持具11の貫通孔12の縁部で振動子11の屈曲振動の節点線10を支持し、この支持具と振動子の接する部分に、シリコーンゴムを注入して接着してなるホルダー13に、衝撃緩衝用のシリコンダンパー16を両端に装着した振動子ユニットと駆動・検出回路基板17を樹脂ケース18に収納したものである。

振動子6と駆動・検出回路基板17の接続用フレキシブル基板19は、ホルダーの金属端子棒15によって、振動子と駆動・検出回路基板を電気的に接続している。駆動・検出回路の動作電源電圧や出力信号は、駆動・検出回路基板17と信号端子ピン21の接続用フレキシブル基板20によって、樹脂ケース18に一体成形によって形成された信号端子ピン21から入出力される。

振動子ユニットおよび駆動・検出回路を収納する樹脂ケース1は、図1(a)および図1(b)に示すように、従来のケースと同様に、数本の信号端子ピン3を、有底に埋設し外壁に突き抜けるように一体成形し、上蓋で閉じられ、接着樹脂によってモールドされる。前記樹脂ケース1に上蓋22(図4参照)をかぶせた後、金属薄板金具2の固定用の爪2aを数箇所折り曲げ、樹脂ケース1を基板に固定する。

また、樹脂ケース1は、図1(a)、図1(b)に示すように、固定用の爪2a2個を1組としたコの字形の金属薄板金具2を前記外壁に埋没するように2個設けている。また、爪2aは、信号端子ピン3を植設した外壁に4箇所突出している。

図2(a)に示す金型薄板金具4は、2本の脚を設けて、その2本の脚を開いた状態のものである。また、図2(b)に示すコ字形のものは、図1(a)及び図1(b)に示したものである。また、図2(c)に示すH字形で、固定用の爪2a4個1組とした金属薄板金具5も、1個一体で埋設されるので、他の金具に比べ、強度が大きい。このような前記外部基板固定用の爪を有する金属薄板金具2,4,5を設けることにより、金属ケースの使用を省略できるので、コストを低減できる。

本発明の振動ジャイロにおいては、金属ケースの基板に取り付ける機能を従来の樹脂ケースにもたせることで、前記樹脂ケースと前記金属ケースの両者併用をやめて、単独で使用することができる。

次に、本発明の振動ジャイロが、外部磁界の影響を受けるかどうかを調べた。前記エリンバーの恒弾性金属振動体に圧電セラミック薄板と接着している音片振動子を用いた従来の振動ジャイロと本発明の振動ジャイロとを比較したのが、図6のグラフである。

以上に示したように、本発明によれば、セラミック単体からなる円柱状の振動子の特長を生かし、金属ケースを用いずに、外部基板に固定する機能を有する樹脂ケースを提供し、圧電振動ジャイロの低コスト化を実現することができる。
