【0001】

TECHNICAL FIELD OF THE INVENTION
The present invention provides a vehicle roof carrier support structure, in particular, a pair of rail members having straight long grooves of a fixed width extending in the vehicle front-rear direction, and the left and right legs of the roof carrier can slide back and forth on the rail members. The present invention relates to a vehicle roof carrier support structure configured to be supported by a vehicle.
[0002]
[Prior art]
2. Description of the Related Art Conventionally, as a roof carrier of a vehicle such as an automobile, a so-called slide type is known in which at least one of a pair of front and rear carriers extending in a vehicle width direction is slidable in a front and rear direction and its front and rear position can be freely adjusted. (See, for example, JP-A-7-309175).
By adopting such a slide type at least one of the front and rear, the distance between the front and rear carriers is adjusted according to the shape or size of the load or article to be loaded, and the loading state is optimized. It becomes possible to plan.
[0003]
In the case where the sliding roof carrier as described above is provided on the vehicle body roof, a pair of rail members having a long groove for guiding the roof carrier to slide in the front and rear direction is provided on the left and right portions of the vehicle body roof in the front-rear direction. The left and right legs of the roof carrier are attached to the rail member so as to be slidable back and forth. The left and right rail members are usually fixed to the vehicle body roof at at least two fixing points separated in the front-rear direction.
[0004]
The left and right side edges of the vehicle body roof are joined and supported at the upper portion of the vehicle body side portion. When the vehicle body roof is joined to the vehicle body side portion, generally, the left and right side edges of the roof panel are connected to the vehicle body side portion. Are overlapped in a concave shape, and the bottom wall of the concave portion is welded and joined. Therefore, a pair of concave portions extending in the front-rear direction is formed on the left and right portions of the vehicle body roof. The upper part of the concave portion is usually covered with a molding member. However, it is conceivable that a rail member for supporting the leg portion of the roof carrier is disposed in the concave portion.
[0005]
By the way, in recent years, in order to improve the aerodynamic characteristics during running, for example, in an automobile for sports type or leisure use, the size in the vehicle width direction gradually increases toward the rear of the upper part of the vehicle (and thus also the roof of the vehicle). There is known one set to be small.
In this type of vehicle, the distance between the pair of concave portions provided on the left and right portions of the vehicle body roof is gradually reduced toward the rear of the vehicle body.
[0006]
[Problems to be solved by the invention]
In this case, if the roof carrier is a fixed-type roof carrier, there is no particular problem. However, in the case of a slide-type roof carrier that can be slid in the vehicle longitudinal direction, a rail member having a long groove for guiding the sliding operation is provided. If it is arranged along the concave portion as it is, parallelism between the left and right long grooves cannot be maintained, so that the roof carrier cannot be freely slid back and forth.
[0007]
In view of the above, according to the present invention, when supporting the sliding roof carrier, the shape of the rail members and the arrangement thereof are devised so that the sliding operation of the roof carrier can be performed even if the side edges of the vehicle body roof are not parallel on the left and right. The basic purpose is to make the long grooves to be guided parallel on the left and right.

It should be noted that the present invention is not limited to the above-described embodiment, and it goes without saying that various improvements or design changes can be made without departing from the scope of the invention.
[0064]
【The invention's effect】
According to the first invention of the present application, a straight line extending connecting two fixing points of the rail member and a center line of the rail member long groove are set so as to intersect at a predetermined angle with each other, and the pair of rail members Since the long grooves are arranged parallel to each other, the long grooves for guiding the sliding operation of the roof carrier can be parallel to each other even if the side edges of the vehicle body roof are not parallel to each other.
Therefore, even when the upper part of the vehicle body (and thus the body roof part) is set so that the dimension in the vehicle width direction is gradually reduced toward the rear in order to improve the aerodynamic characteristics, the roof carrier itself has the expansion and contraction function. The sliding function can be provided to the roof carrier with a relatively simple configuration without having to adopt a complicated structure such as holding.
[0065]
According to the second aspect of the present invention, the straight line extending connecting the two fixed points of the rail member and the center line of the rail member long groove are set so as to intersect at a predetermined angle with each other, and Since the long grooves of the rail members are arranged in parallel with each other, even if the pair of left and right concave portions are set so as to become narrower toward the rear of the vehicle body and are not parallel to each other, the sliding operation of the roof carrier can be performed. Can be parallel to each other on the left and right.
Further, since the rail member has a joint portion between the vehicle body roof and the vehicle body side portion and is fixed to the concave portion extending in the front-rear direction, sufficient supporting strength of the rail member can be secured, The load on the carrier can be increased.
[0066]
Further, according to the third aspect of the present invention, basically, the same effects as those of the first or second aspect can be obtained. In particular, since at least one of the fixing points of the rail member is located at a portion deviated in the width direction on the surface including the opening of the long groove of the rail member, a straight line extending connecting the two fixing points of the rail member. And the center line of the rail member long groove can be easily and accurately set so as to cross each other at a predetermined angle.
[0067]
Further, according to the fourth aspect of the present invention, basically, the same effects as in the third aspect can be obtained. In particular, a reinforcing member extending toward the center in the width direction of the rail member is provided at a fixing point located at a position deviated in the width direction on the surface including the opening of the long groove of the rail member. Even when the carrier is deviated in the width direction from the slide axis (center line of the long groove) of the carrier, the support strength in the width direction of the rail member is ensured, and the outward direction in the vehicle width direction input from the roof carrier to the rail member is secured. It is possible to increase the load-carrying capacity, and as a result, increase the load on the roof carrier.
[0068]
Further, according to the fifth invention of the present application, basically, the same effects as those of the third or fourth invention can be obtained. In particular, in the rail member, the surface including the opening of the long groove has a pair of substantially parallel short sides extending in the vehicle width direction and a pair of long sides extending substantially in the front-rear direction at a predetermined angle to each other. Since it is formed in a trapezoidal shape, the torsional rigidity of the rail member can be increased as compared with the case of a rectangular shape with a regular constant width, and by providing the rail member of such a shape fixed to the vehicle body roof, The rigidity of the vehicle body can be improved.
[0069]
Further, according to the sixth aspect of the present invention, basically, the same effects as any one of the first to fifth aspects can be obtained. In particular, since the center line of the long groove is located at least between the two fixed points and inside the vehicle body than a straight line extending connecting the fixed points, the vehicle width input from the roof carrier to the rail member It is possible to more stably receive an outward load in the direction, and as a result, it is possible to increase the load of the roof carrier.
[0070]
Further, according to the seventh aspect of the present invention, basically, the same effect as any one of the first to sixth aspects can be obtained. In particular, each of the rail members has a joint portion between the vehicle body roof and the vehicle body side portion, and is attached to each of a pair of left and right concave portions extending in the front-rear direction, and a molding member covering above the concave portions is fixed to the rail member. Therefore, it is possible to prevent the vehicle body (the inner surface of the concave portion) from being damaged by the rail member when the vehicle body vibrates.
[0071]
Further, according to the eighth aspect of the present invention, basically, the same effects as in the seventh aspect can be obtained. In particular, since the molding member is attached to the rail member at at least two points provided alternately in the front-rear direction with the fixing point of the rail member to the concave portion, the molding member can be moved in the longitudinal direction as much as possible. It can be securely attached to the rail member without any deviation.
[0072]
Further, according to the ninth aspect of the present invention, basically, the same effects as those of the eighth aspect can be obtained. In particular, the center line of the long groove is located at least between two attachment points of the molding member to the rail member, and is located inside the vehicle body with respect to a straight line extending between the attachment points. Since the molding member is integrally attached to the rail member, the molding member has a load capability, and can more stably receive an outward load in the vehicle width direction input from the roof carrier, and as a result, The load on the roof carrier can be increased.
