Description
【0001】

TECHNICAL FIELD OF THE INVENTION
The present invention relates to an airbag in which an inflator is housed inside a retainer to which a periphery of an opening of a folded airbag is fixed, and an inflator is inflated by gas generated by the inflator at the time of a vehicle collision to restrain an occupant. Equipment related.
[0002]
[Prior art]
In a conventional airbag device, a vent hole is provided in an airbag inflated by gas generated by an inflator, and a part of the gas is discharged from the vent hole to control the internal pressure of the airbag. In such an airbag device, by closing the vent hole with a thin film, the airbag is quickly inflated in the early stage of deployment, and when the deployment is completed and the internal pressure of the airbag increases, the thin film breaks, and the venthole is broken. (Japanese Utility Model Publication No. 5-6206) has been proposed to discharge gas from a vehicle and restrain the occupant softly.
[0003]
In addition, two inflators are provided in the airbag device, and when no occupant is present near the airbag device, both of the two inflators are ignited, and when an occupant is present near the airbag device, There has been proposed an apparatus that controls the deployment speed and internal pressure of an airbag in accordance with the position of an occupant by igniting only one inflator (see Japanese Patent Application Laid-Open No. 9-301115).
[0004]
[Problems to be solved by the invention]
By the way, in Japanese Unexamined Utility Model Publication No. Hei 5-6206, since the pressure at which the thin film breaks tends to vary, the vent hole is properly opened when the internal pressure of the airbag reaches a predetermined value. In addition, it is difficult to precisely control the internal pressure because the vent hole once opened cannot be closed again. Further, the one described in Japanese Patent Application Laid-Open No. 9-301115 not only requires two inflators but increases the number of parts and causes a cost increase. However, there is a problem that it is difficult to perform detailed control because control is only possible.
[0005]
The present invention has been made in view of the above circumstances, and has as its object to accurately control the internal pressure of an airbag by changing the amount of gas discharged from a vent hole when the airbag is deployed.
[0006]
[Means for Solving the Problems]
In order to achieve the above object, the invention described in claim 1 accommodates an inflator inside a retainer to which a periphery of an opening of a folded airbag is fixed, and uses a gas generated by the inflator at the time of a vehicle collision. In an airbag device for deploying an inflating airbag and restraining an occupant, a vent hole formed in the retainer, a control valve operated by an actuator to open and close the vent hole, and detecting an internal pressure of the airbag. Internal pressure detecting means, vehicle speed detecting means for detecting a vehicle speed, and control means for feedback controlling the opening of the vent hole so that the airbag internal pressure detected by the internal pressure detecting means matches a preset target internal pressure pattern. The control means, when the vehicle speed at the time of collision detected by the vehicle speed detection means is low, than when the vehicle speed is high As the maximum value of the target pressure is reduced,And such that the timing at which the maximum value of the target internal pressure occurs is delayed,The target internal pressure pattern is changed according to a signal from the vehicle speed detecting means..
[0007]
Claim 1ofAccording to the configuration, the control means drives the control valve to open and close the control valve by the actuator in accordance with the internal pressure of the airbag detected by the internal pressure detection means to change the opening degree of the vent hole, thereby reducing the amount of gas discharged from the vent hole. Since the internal pressure of the airbag is made to match the target internal pressure pattern set in advance by arbitrarily changing, the internal pressure of the airbag can be controlled to an optimal level to enhance the occupant restraint performance..
[0008]
In particular, when the vehicle speed at the time of collision detected by the vehicle speed detecting means is low, the opening of the vent hole is controlled so that the maximum value of the target internal pressure becomes smaller than in the case of high speed, so the optimal size according to the vehicle speed is large. And the opening of the vent hole is controlled so that when the vehicle speed at the time of collision is low, the timing at which the maximum value of the target internal pressure occurs is delayed compared to when the vehicle speed is high. The binding force can be exerted at the optimal timing according to the magnitude of
[0009]
Claims2The invention described in claimOneIn addition to the configuration, the actuator is a piezoelectric element. According to the above configuration, by forming the actuator by the piezoelectric element, the vent hole can be opened and closed at a low cost with a simple structure having a smaller number of parts than other actuators such as a motor and a solenoid.
[0010]
Claims3The invention described in claim2In addition to the above configuration, the actuator is a plate-shaped piezoelectric element arranged so as to cover the vent hole, and one end of which is fixed to the retainer. According to the above configuration, by forming the actuator with the plate-shaped piezoelectric element, not only the structure of the actuator is extremely simplified, but also the piezoelectric element itself can be used as a valve body, and the number of parts can be further increased. And cost can be further reduced.
[0011]
Claims4The invention described in claimOneIn addition to the configuration, the retainer includes a plurality of vent holes, and the control valve includes a valve plate having a plurality of openings corresponding to the plurality of vent holes, respectively, and the actuator includes the valve plate. The plurality of openings are opposed to the plurality of vent holes by sliding along a retainer. According to the above configuration, by combining the plurality of vent holes formed in the retainer and the plurality of openings formed in the valve plate, the degree of opening of the vent hole can be changed from the fully closed state to the fully opened state by only slightly moving the valve plate. The state can be changed, and miniaturization of the actuator and improvement of responsiveness can be achieved at the same time.
[0012]
Claims5The invention described in claim4In addition to the above configuration, the plurality of vent holes are arranged in a circumferential direction, and the valve plate is driven to rotate reciprocally by the actuator. According to the above configuration, a plurality of vent holes arranged in the circumferential direction are opened and closed by the valve plate reciprocally driven by the actuator, so that a rotary output actuator such as a motor can be easily applied.
[0013]
Claims6The invention described in claim4In addition to the above configuration, the plurality of vent holes are arranged in a linear direction, and the valve plate is reciprocated linearly driven by the actuator. According to the above configuration, since a plurality of vent holes arranged in a linear direction are opened and closed by a valve plate which is linearly driven by an actuator, a linear output actuator such as a linear solenoid or a laminated piezoelectric element can be easily applied. can do.
