本発明は乗用車に用いて好適な車両用空気調和装置に関する。

【従来の技術】
本願出願人は図2ないし図4に示す車両用空気調和装置について特願平7−310726号により特許出願した。
センターコンソール内に埋設されるケーシング1の内部にはエバポレータ4、エアミックスダンパ6、ヒータ5、吹出モード切換ダンパ10等が配設されている。エバポレータ4はケーシング1の下部にその空気吸込口25に向かって次第に立ち上がるように傾斜した姿勢で取り付けられている。

ヒータ5はケーシング1内の片側に偏寄した位置に若干傾斜した姿勢で配設されている。エアミックスダンパ6はヒータ5の上流側に配設され、ガイド26に案内されて空気流れ方向と交わる方向にスライドする。吹出モード切換ダンパ10はヒータ5の上方のエアミックス領域に水平軸まわりに回転可能に配設されている。

このダンパ10は、図4に示すように、全体として中空樽状をなし、その円筒部10aには周方向に所定の間隔を隔てて常時エアミックスダンパ領域に連通する取入口11、デフロスト出口12及びフェース出口13が形成され、その両端板10b、10cにはそれぞれ扇形状のフート出口14が形成されるとともにその中央部に回転軸15が突設されている。この回転軸15はケーシング1の左右両側壁1b、1cに軸承されている。

以上のように構成された空気調和装置の運転時、図示しないブロアによって付勢された車室内空気又は/及び外気が空気吸込口25からケーシング1内に流入し、エバポレータ4を流過する過程で冷媒と熱交換することによって冷却される。

この空気はエアミックスダンパ6によって分流され、エアミックスダンパ6の右側を流過した空気はヒータ5に入りここでエンジン冷却水と熱交換することによって加熱された後、エアミックスダンパ6の左側に形成されヒータ5をバイパスするバイパス通路27を流過した空気と合流して所定温度の調和空気となる。

前記課題を解決するため、本発明は、ケーシング内に形成された空気流路中に空気を冷却するエバポレータと、このエバポレータで冷却された空気を再熱するヒータと、上記エバポレータで冷却された空気を前記ヒータをバイパスして流すバイパス通路と、上記エバポレータとヒータとの間に設けられ、空気の流れ方向と交わる方向にスライドして上記バイパス通路を通る空気と上記ヒータを通る空気の量を調整するスライド式エアミックスダンパとを具備するとともに、上記バイパス通路を通過した空気の流れ方向を調整可能な補助風向変更手段を設け、当該補助風向変更手段は、上記スライド式エアミックスダンパがマックスクールの位置にある時に上記スライド式エアミックスダンパに対しほぼ垂直となり、上記スライド式エアミックスダンパがマックスホットの位置にある時にほぼ水平となる車両用空気調和装置を提供する。

また、本発明による車両用空気調和装置では、ヒータ側の補助風向変更手段は、マックスホット時は最大風量を確保し、マックスクール時はヒータに添接して閉じ、それぞれを効率的にマックスホットとマックスクールの状態にする。
