Description

【発明の詳細な説明】 本発明は、液体透過性の上層、液体不透過性の下層、
及びこれらの層間に配置された吸収体要素を有する衛生
タオルに関する。
更に詳細には、本発明は、使用者の身体に面した上層
の表面上に排出された液体の分配を制御するようになっ
た一つ又はそれ以上の層を有する構造を持つ衛生タオル
に関する。
本発明の好ましい構成は、ヒドロゲル吸収体材料を一
つの構成要素として、好ましくは、主要構成要素として
含む吸収体要素を有する。
液体透過性の上層、不透過性の下層、及びこれらの層
間に配置された、ヒドロゲル吸収体材料を含む吸収体要
素を持つ衛生ナプキンが従来技術で周知である。
米国特許第5,009,653号には、液体透過性の上層、不
透過性の下層、及びこれらの層間に配置された吸収体要
素を有し、この吸収体要素が二つの乾燥形成外薄葉紙層
及びヒドロゲル吸収体材料からなる中央層からなる、衛
生タオルが記載されている。
70％がレーヨンでできており、30％がポリエステル繊
維でできた不織布でつくられた、液体を収集するための
層が上層と吸収体要素との間に配置されており、上層を
通った液体の側方分配を改善する。
液体を収集層で側方に分配すると、放出された液体が
近づくことのできる吸収体要素の表面積が増大するが、
他方、液体が衛生タオルの縁部に向かって移動し、特定
の使用状態では使用者の下着を汚してしまう可能性があ
る。
欧州特許第257280号には、衛生タオルのような吸収体
物品用の複合カバー層が記載されており、このカバー層
では、このカバー層に固定された不織布層上に厚さが0.
762mm以下で総開口面積が少なくとも35％の実質的に疎
水性の有孔ポリマーフィルムが置かれている。第１層の
開口部の寸法は、１％の塩水を重力の作用のみで通過さ
せるには不十分であり、第２層は、１％の塩水を15分後
に12.7mm以下の高さに持ち上げることのできる毛管構造
を有する。
吸収体物品は、二層複合構造を持つ、詳細には、セル
ロース繊維で形成された低密度の上層及びセルロース繊
維と超吸収体材料の高密度の混合物からなる下層を持つ
吸収体要素を有する。
吸収体要素の下側は、流体が吸収体要素のベース及び
側縁部から使用者の下着にまで通過できないようにする
ため吸収体要素の側縁部まで延びるポリエチレンシート
に固定されている。
複合カバー層は、液体を単一方向に流すことができ、
そのため、液体の逆流に関する特性を改善するというこ
とに着目されたい。更に、前記層は拡散特性が非常に低
く、又は液体を側方に伝達する能力が低いということに
着目されたい。
本発明は、液体に対して完全に透過性である中央層の
欠点をなくすと同時に、受入れられた液体をこの液体が
収集された領域から遠方の吸収体要素のゾーンまで分配
する性能を保持しようとするものである。
従って、本発明の目的は、使用者の身体に面した表面
上に放出された液体を制御できる、層状構造を持つ衛生
タオルを製造することである。
更に、本発明の目的は、液体不透過性の下層と表面上
に液体が放出される液体透過性の上層との間に吸収体要
素が配置され、上層と吸収体層との間に配置された中間
層が、放出された液体を吸収体要素の使用者の身体に面
した表面上に亘って分配するが、タオルの側縁部から使
用者の下着に向かう液体の漏れが起こらないように構成
された衛生タオルを製造することである。
本発明の別の目的は、上層と吸収体要素との間に配置
された中間層が、吸収体要素の使用者の身体に面する表
面上に放出された液体を分配し、この中間要素が、液体
を少なくとも中間層の内面に沿って吸収体要素の長手方
向側縁部の周りに拡散できるように少なくとも吸収体要
素の中央部分で吸収体要素の側縁部の周りに亘って延び
ており、前記中間層が、吸収体要素の側縁部から使用者
の下着に向かう液体の漏れを阻止するように構成され
た、衛生タオルを製造することである。
本発明の更に別の目的は、液体透過性の上層、液体不
透過性の下層、これらの層間の吸収体層を持ち、上層と
吸収体要素との間に配置された親水性中間層を更に有
し、吸収体要素の夫々の層の密度が上層から下層に向か
って減少する層状構造を持つ、衛生タオルを製造するこ
とである。
本発明によれば、これらの目的は、以下の請求の範囲
で特定的に言及した特徴を持つ衛生タオルによって達成
される。
本発明による衛生タオルは、実質的に液体不透過性の
部分を吸収体要素の側縁部に形成し且つ実質的に透過性
の部分を吸収体要素の使用者の身体に面する表面の少な
くとも一部の上に形成する中間層によって、吸収体要素
が、その使用者の身体に面する表面上及びその側縁部に
沿ってカバーされていることを特徴とする。
好ましくは、本発明による衛生タオルは、嵩が5cm3/g
以上であり、「水平方向拡散試験」で計測した毛管拡散
力が150秒以下であり、「自由吸収試験」で計測した吸
収力が1g以下の中間層を有する。
好ましくは、本発明による衛生タオルは、第１、第
２、及び第３の繊維質層を有し、第１繊維質層の密度は
第２繊維質層の密度よりも高く、第３繊維質層の密度
は、第１及び第２の繊維質層の密度よりも低い。
次に、本発明を単なる非限定的例として添付図面を参
照して説明する。
第１図は、本発明に従って製造した衛生タオルを使用

本発明は、使い捨て吸収体物品に関し、更に詳細に
は、使用者の外陰領域の外側で身体に直に当てて着用さ
れる、身体の流体を吸収できる、一回使用した後で廃棄
される女性用衛生タオルに関する。
しかしながら、本発明は、衛生タオルのみに限定され
ず、例えばいわゆるパンティライナ等のような他の使い
捨て吸収体物品にも適用できる。
第１図及び第２図に示す使い捨て衛生タオルは、本発
明に従って製造された吸収体物品の好ましい実施例を示
す。
第１図は、本発明に従って製造された衛生タオル１を
示し、構造を更に詳細に示すため一部が除去してある。
特定的には、第１図は、使用時に使用者の身体と直接接
触するタオルの上側を示す。
第１図は、前領域２、後領域３、及び前領域と後領域
との間の領域を構成する中央領域４を示し、この図に
は、長手方向軸線AA′及び断面線２−２と一致する横方
向軸線が更に示してある。
タオルは、使用者の身体と直接接触する液体透過性の
上層５、吸収体要素６、及び液体不透過性の下層７から
なる。
図示の構成では、タオルは、前領域２及び後領域３の
幅が大きく、そのため、中央領域４が狭幅であるように
形成されている。周知のように、この形状により、使用
者の解剖学的形態への適合性を改善できる。吸収体要素
６は、隅部に丸味を付けた矩形であり、互いに平行な真
っ直ぐな長手方向側縁部８を有し、中央領域４に対応す
るタオルの最小幅よりも僅かに狭幅であるという特徴を
有する。
液体透過性の上層５及び液体不透過性の下層７は、吸
収体製品全体の外形と大きさ及び形状が同じであり、例
えば糊付け又はヒートシール線で少なくともタオルの外
輪郭９に沿って互いに接合されている。
液体透過性の上層５は、液体をその厚さを通して下に
ある構造に迅速に通過させることができなければならな
い。上層は、従来技術で周知の種々の方法で、例えば不
織布から製造できるが、液体透過性であるが吸収体でな
い有孔ポリマーフィルムが好ましい。
本発明の好ましい構成では、透過性の上層５の使用者
の身体に向いた表面は、特に上層５を有孔ポリマーフィ
ルムで製造した場合に親水性である。
表面が親水性であるため、液体を上層５を通して下に
ある吸収体構造に向かって迅速に通過させることがで
き、更に、液体自体が上層の表面に沿って移動する可能
性を小さくする。
透過性の上層５の身体に向いた表面は、例えばスプレ
ー又はローラを用いることによって付けられた界面活性
剤で処理することによって親水性にすることができる。
変形例では、透過性の上層５を形成する材料に界面活
性剤を直接組み込むことができる。
吸収体要素６は、中間層10でカバーされている。この
中間層10は、使用者の身体に向いた表面をカバーし、少
なくともタオル１の中央領域４において、二つの長手方
向辺縁部分11で吸収体要素６の長手方向側縁部８をカバ
ーしている。第２図に示すように、中間層10は、好まし
くは、吸収体要素の下着に向いた側と対応して部分的に
延びるように、所定幅の長手方向辺縁部分11を有する。
中間層10は、長手方向側縁部８及び吸収体要素６の下
着に向いた表面の少なくとも部分に巻き付けた長手方向
辺縁部分11で実質的に液体不透過性であり、実質的に液
体透過性の部分12を吸収体要素６の使用者の身体に向い
た表面の少なくとも部分上に有する。
中間層10は、5cm3/gと嵩高であるという特徴を有し、
好ましくは、毛管作用による液体拡散作用に優れてお
り、吸収力が低い。
中間層を構成する材料の毛管拡散力及び吸収力は、
「水平方向拡散試験」及び「自由吸収試験」で評定され
る。両試験は、長さが80mmで幅が25.4mmの矩形の試料材
料について0.9重量％の塩水で実施される。
「水平方向拡散試験」 1974年に米国で行われたB.M.リットシュタインの「IN
DA技術シンポジウム」の第129頁を参照した、エルセビ
ア科学出版社が1985年に発行したプロニーK.シャタジー
著の「吸収力」の第62頁に例示された「要求湿潤性試験
機」として周知の装置を使用する。
この試験は、合意により定められた寸法を持つ試料材
料を、約ゼロの静水頭で液体を放出する孔と同じ高さに
その一端がある状態で水平な試験プレート上に置くこと
によって行われる。
液体が80mm離れた試料の他端に到達するのに要する時
間を秒単位で計測する。
「自由吸収試験」 合意により定められた寸法を持つ試料を計量し、次い
でこれを液体の表面上に注意深く置く。液体表面に向い
た材料の表面が使用表面である。
試料を液体の上に一分間に亘って放置し、次いで一端
をピンセットで持ち上げ、一分間に亘って滴下し、再び
最終的に計量する。
初めの重量と最終重量との間の差が、試験を受けた材
料が自由に吸収した液体の量を表す。
中間層10を構成する材料は、「水平方向拡散試験」に
従って計測した毛管拡散時間が150秒以下でなければな
らず、「自由吸収試験」に従って計測した自由吸収力が
1g以下、好ましくは0.5g以下でなければならない。
本願と出願人が同じ欧州特許公告第207904号に記載さ
れた、適当な処理を施すことによって親水性にした衛生
製品用カバー構造を使用することが特に好ましいという
ことがわかった。
特に第３図に示す構造は、全体に孔が設けられてお
り、不織布からなる上層13、ポリマーフィルムからなる
中間層14、及び不織布からなる下層15を有し、これらの
三つの層は互いに合一されて厚さが約200μｍ乃至700μ
ｍの構造を形成する。
本発明の好ましい実施例では、中間層10を構成する層
状構造の上層13及び下層15の不織布を構成する繊維は、
例えば、構造自体の形成前に界面活性剤で適当な処理を
施すことによって親水性を付与した種類の繊維であり、
更に、構造全体に孔が設けられており、及びかくして中
間層10の部分12だけが液体透過性であり、長手方向側縁
部８及び吸収体要素６の下着に向いた表面の少なくとも
部分をカバーする長手方向辺縁部分11は孔が設けられて
おらず、及びかくして実質的に不透過性である。
使用に当たっては、構造は、その上側にある上構造５
から液体を受け取ってこれを透過性部分12の孔に通し、
下にある吸収体要素６に迅速に移送することができる。
中間層10が嵩高であるため、透過性の上構造５は吸収
体要素６の表面から隔離され、使用者の身体に向いたタ
オルの表面を乾燥した即ちドライな状態に保つのを助け
る。
中間層10の孔が設けられていない長手方向辺縁部分11
は、使用中に衛生タオルに垂直方向圧力が加わった場合
に吸収体要素６の長手方向側縁部８でしばしば起こる液
体の漏れを阻止する。
繊維質の上層13及び繊維質の下層15の毛管拡散力並び
に低い液体吸収力は、その上側にある上層５を通して受
け取った液体の幾分かを、代表的には透過性部分12の中
央にある、液体が最初に受け入れられたゾーンから遠方
の繊維質層の内部に毛管作用で伝え、長手方向及び横方
向の両方向に拡散するような毛管拡散力並びに低い液体
吸収力である。
このようにして、下側にある吸収体要素６に向かって
液体が通過する中間構造10の表面積を増大させ、吸収体
要素の大部分を液体の吸収に関与させるという利点を得
る。
更に、中間層10に沿って横方向に移動する液体は、吸
収体要素６の下面に到達するまで、少なくとも、中間層
10の長手方向辺縁部分11が吸収体要素６の下に延びると
ころにまで吸収体要素６の長手方向縁部８を越えて運ば
れる。
かくして、液体の幾分かを吸収体要素６の下面を通し
て吸収できる。
液体は、好ましくは、吸収体要素６に面した中間層10
の内面、好ましい実施例では、第３図の層状構造の下繊
維質層15に対応する表面に沿って前進する。例えば、長
手方向側縁部８からの可能な損失のため、繊維を通る内
部毛管作用及び吸収体要素６の両方によって到達するた
めである。
中間層10を構成する材料の吸収力が低いため、この構
造の内部には液体をほんの僅かしか保持できず、液体の
大部分は上述の方法で吸収体要素６に運ばれる。
下停止層16は、好ましくは、下着に向かう表面と対応
して中間層10によって部分的に取り囲まれた吸収体要素
６と不透過性の下層７との間に配置される。
第１図に示すように、下停止層16は、好ましくは、衛
生タオル１と同じ形状を有し、及びかくして、前ゾーン
２及び後ゾーン３では、矩形の吸収体要素６よりも広幅
であり、四つの部分17を形成する。
下停止層16は、好ましくは疎水性であり、毛管拡散力
が非常に低く、好ましい構成では、中間層10を構成した
のと同じ、繊維質層13及び15の繊維が、親水性でなく疎
水性の有孔層状構造で形成されている。
吸収体要素６によって吸収され、下着に面した下面か
ら使用中に連続的に放出されるか或いはベースのところ
で中間層10の外面に沿って移動する少量の液体は、下停
止層16によって、孔が構成する小さなキャビティの内部
に受け入れられることができ、層を構成する繊維の疎水
性のためどこにも拡散させることが出来ずにそこに保持
される。
更に、賦形タオル１の前領域２及び後領域３にある下
停止層16の四つの部分は、矩形の吸収体要素６の長手方
向側縁部に対して側方に延び、衛生タオル１のコンシス
テンシー及び厚さをこれらのゾーンで大きくする。
吸収体要素６は、衛生タオル、乳児用おむつ、及び他
の使い捨て吸収体物品で一般的に使用されている種々の
吸収体材料から製造できる。
適当な材料は、木材パルプから得られたセルロース繊
維、吸収体フォーム又はスポンジ、合成繊維、ヒドロゲ
ル吸収体材料、又は任意の材料又は等価の材料の組み合
わせである。
一般に超吸収体として周知のヒドロゲル吸収体材料
は、膨潤でき且つ大量の液体、特に水、又は程度は低い
が身体の流体を吸収できるポリマーである。
更に、ヒドロゲル吸収体材料には、中程度の圧力が加
わった状態でも流体を保持するという性質があり、この
特徴のため、これらの材料を使い捨て吸収体物品につい
て親水性繊維と組み合わせて使用することが提案されて
きた。
しかしながら、超吸収体の高い吸収力は同様に迅速な
吸収と組み合わされず、これは、これらの物質を組み込
んだ吸収体物品の性能に悪影響を及ぼす。
実際、超吸収体は、超吸収体の粒子が液体と接触した
ときにその外面が液体の吸収及び膨潤を開始し、粒子自
体の内部への液体の伝達を妨げ、液体は未だに乾燥状態
の粒子のコア内に非常にゆっくりとした拡散機構によっ
てのみ進入できる、従来技術で「ゲル閉塞」として定義
された現象を起こし易い。
この現象は、超吸収体物質の大きな吸収力を完全に使
用することを妨げる。
いずれにせよ、ヒドロゲル吸収体材料を使用した場合
には、吸収力のわりに親水性繊維の両が少なく、従って
繊維のみでつくられた従来の吸収体要素よりも寸法、特
に厚さが小さい吸収体要素を製造できる。
繊維とヒドロゲル吸収体材料の粒子とを別々の重なっ
た層をなして配置し、厚さを大きく減じた特徴を持つ構
造が形成された。
1992年７月３日付けのTO92A000566の特許出願に記載
されている構造のような、薄型の層状吸収体構造が、本
発明の衛生タオル用の吸収体要素として特に好ましい。
上述の吸収体構造は、二つ又はそれ以上の繊維質層で
形成され、対をなした各繊維質層間にはヒドロゲル吸収
体材料の粒子及び熱可塑性有機ポリマー材料の粒子から
なる中間層があり、繊維質層は、夫々の中間層を越えて
側方に延び、長手方向辺縁部分を形成する。
夫々の中間層を間に有する繊維質層は、熱可塑性有機
材料の粒子を溶融することによって、及び少なくとも各
長手方向辺縁部分と対応して長手方向に延びる接着剤の
連続線によって互いに接合されている。
第２図に示す吸収体要素６は、上述の薄型の層状の吸
収体構造の好ましい構成である。
吸収体要素は、第１繊維質層18、第２繊維質層19、及
び第３繊維質層20、及びヒドロゲル吸収体材料及び熱可
塑性有機ポリマー材料の粒子22の混合物からなる二つの
中間層21からなる。
中間層21を構成する粒子22の表面分布は、非均等であ
るのがよく、特に、1992年７月27日付けのEP92306824.1
に記載された例では、吸収体要素６は、中央長手方向収
集ゾーン23及びこの収集ゾーン23と長手方向側縁部８と
の間に位置決めされた二つの側ゾーン24を有し、中間層
21でのヒドロゲル吸収体材料の濃度が、二つの側ゾーン
24でよりも長手方向中央収集ゾーン23で低い。
第２図に示す好ましい実施例では、第１繊維質層18と
第２繊維質層19との間の第１中間層21は、中央長手方向
収集ゾーン23を有し、このゾーンには粒子22が中間構造
自体の残りの部分に関して及び第２繊維質層19と第３繊
維質層20との間の第２中間層21全体に関して低い表面密
度で分布している。
第２図に示す好ましい構成では、長手方向中央収集ゾ
ーン23には粒子22が全くない。
更に、第２図には、接着剤25からなる連続線が示して
あり、この連続線は、図示の構成では、吸収体要素６の
長手方向側縁部８のところに配置された層状構造の長手
方向辺縁部に沿って長手方向に延び、長手方向中央収集
ゾーン23の縁部に沿って延びている。
第２図に示す層状吸収体構造を構成する繊維質層は、
互いに同じではない。詳細には、層の密度が第１繊維質
層から第３繊維質層まで徐々に大きくなっている。
好ましくは、第１繊維質層18及び第２繊維質層19は、
短いセルロース繊維からなる乾燥形成（「空気堆積」）
層からなり、これに対し、下繊維質層20は、セルロース
繊維及び合成繊維から形成され、熱的に安定化（「熱結
合」）されており、含まれている合成繊維によりこの層
に弾性及び嵩が与えられる。
使用に当たっては、密度の高い上層18及び19が液体を
受け取ってこれを下にある繊維及びヒドロゲル吸収体材
料からなる層に向かって迅速に伝達し、これと同時に、
下側にある層の吸収に関与する面積を大きくするように
長手方向及び横方向に分配する。ヒドロゲル吸収体材料
を含まない第１中間層21の長手方向中央ゾーン23によ
り、液体を迅速に収集でき、かくして、液体は、このゾ
ーンで、第１繊維質層18から第２層19まで迅速に且つ直
接的に伝達される。
下繊維質層20は、更に嵩高であるため、拡散力が低い
が大量の液体を取り入れることができ、かくして、中間
層21のヒドロゲル吸収体材料の粒子とともに吸収体要素
６全体の吸収力に貢献する。
更に、合成繊維の存在による弾性のため、湿潤時に潰
れる傾向がなく、使用時に吸収体に垂直方向圧力が加わ
った場合に下繊維質層20から少量の液体が漏出できる
が、上側にある中間層21のヒドロゲル吸収体材料の粒子
で再び吸収することができる。
以下の第４図乃至第11図は、本発明に従って製造され
た衛生タオルについての幾つかの変形例の構成を示し、
共通の要素には第１図及び第２図で使用したのと同じ参
照番号が附してある。
第４図及び第５図は、本発明の衛生タオルについての
二つの変形例の構成を示し、これらの構成は、両方と
も、下停止層16がないという点で第２図の好ましい構成
と異なっている。
更に、第５図の構成では、中間構造10が吸収体要素６
に完全に巻き付けてあり、吸収体要素自体のベースから
の液体の漏れの可能性に対する保護を高めるため、長手
方向辺縁部分11が吸収体要素の下側で部分的に重なって
いる。
第６図は、本発明に従って製造された衛生ナプキンに
組み込まれるべき吸収体要素６の幾つかの変形例の構成
を示し、これらの構成では、吸収体要素は、少なくとも
長手方向側縁部のところにある接着剤25からなる連続線
を有するヒドロゲル吸収体材料からなる中間層21を間に
挟んだ一つの上層26及び一つの下層27の二つの繊維層に
よって形成された層状吸収体構造から製造される。
最初の層状吸収体構造は、層状構造の二つの長手方向
端を第6a図に示すようにそれ自体の上側に折り返すこと
によって得られた吸収体要素６よりも広幅であり、又は
第6b図及び第6c図に示すようにそれ自体の下側に折り返
すことによって得られた吸収体要素６よりも広幅であ
る。
これらの三つの図面では、結果的に得られた吸収体要
素には長手方向収集ゾーン23、長手方向側縁部８、及び
収集ゾーン23と側縁部８との間に位置決めされた二つの
側ゾーン24を有する。
第6a図及び第6b図の構成では、大量のヒドロゲル吸収
体材料が存在するという特徴を持つ側ゾーン24は、同じ
層状吸収体構造の二つの重なった層から形成され、これ
に対し、収集ゾーン23は吸収体構造６の中央部分と対応
し、層状吸収体構造が一層しか存在しないという特徴を
有する。
第6c図の構成では、層状吸収体構造の下側に折り返し
た長手方向端部は、これらが夫々の長手方向縁部に沿っ
て互いにほとんど接触するように、吸収体要素自体の長
手方向軸線に沿って延長してあり、長手方向中央収集ゾ
ーン23は、中間層21の内側のヒドロゲル吸収体材料を全
く含まないゾーンからなる。このゾーンは、接着剤25の
線で画成されている。
第6a図、第6b図、及び第6c図の層状吸収体構造を構成
する二つの繊維質層は、種々の密度を有するのがよく、
上層26は下層27よりも密度が高い。
更に好ましい態様では、上繊維質層26は短いセルロー
ス繊維からなる乾燥形成（「空気堆積」）層からなり、
これに対し、下繊維質層27はセルロース繊維及び熱的に
安定化した（「熱結合した」）合成繊維で形成されてい
る。
しかしながら、上述の吸収体構造と等価の種類の層状
吸収体構造は、別の方法で、例えば、種々の幅の繊維層
を組み合わせ且つ重ね、ヒドロゲル吸収体材料からなる
中間層を間に置くことによって製造できる。
第７図は、本発明に従って製造された衛生タオルの変
形例の構成を示し、この構成では、第６図に示す種類の
吸収体要素が組み込んであり、中間層10が吸収体要素に
完全に巻き付けてあり、下停止層16が設けられている。
この場合には、吸収体要素は、上側に折り返した層状
吸収体構造の夫々の長手方向端部の下に長手方向端部29
があるように位置決めされた別の上収集層28を有する。
上収集層28の密度は、好ましくは、上繊維質層26より
も大きく、上収集層28もまた、例えば短いセルロース繊
維からなる乾燥形成層によって形成されている。
一般的には、吸収体要素６を形成する繊維質層の密度
は、好ましくは、0.04g/cm3乃至0.20g/cm3である。
この場合には、吸収体要素の中央収集ゾーン23は、別
の収集層28が存在することを特徴とする。
使用に当たっては、上収集層28が、先ず最初に、液体
を中央収集ゾーン23で受入れ、これを下側の層へ迅速に
伝達し、長手方向及び横方向に同時に分配する。液体
は、かくして、吸収体構造の折り返し端の下に位置決め
された上収集層の長手方向端部29に到達でき、ここから
層状吸収体構造内に吸収され、上方及び下方の両方向に
通過する。
本発明に従って製造した賦形型衛生ナプキンに組み込
まれるべき吸収体要素６自体を衛生タオル１全体の外形
と同様に賦形することができる。
第８図は、この種の衛生タオルの第１の構成を示す。
吸収体要素は第２図、第４図、及び第５図に示す吸収体
要素と同じ種類であるが、重なった繊維質層18、19、及
び20、及びこれらの繊維質層間にあり且つ接着剤25の連
続線によって画成されたこれらの繊維質層よりも狭幅の
中間層21で形成された層状吸収体構造で構成されてい
る。中間層10は、吸収体構造６の上に単に重ねてあるだ
けであり、好ましくは真っ直ぐで平行な縁部を有し、そ
の幅は吸収体要素の最小幅よりも僅かに小さい。
このようにして、中間層21に影響を及ぼす切断線を設
けることなく適当な形態の賦形吸収体要素６を製造でき
る。タオルの前領域２及び後領域３では、繊維質層18、
19、及び20は、中間層21が構成する接着剤25の連続線を
越えて延び、コンシステンシー及び厚さの高いタオルの
構造をこのゾーンに構成する。
第９図及び第10図に示す好ましい実施例によれば、吸
収体要素６の長手方向縁部８をカバーし、及び少なくと
も衛生タオル１の中央領域４のところで使用者の身体に
面した下面の部分をカバーする中間層10を持つ、賦形吸
収体要素を製造できる。
吸収体要素は、重ねられた繊維質層18、19、及び20
と、これらの繊維質層よりも狭幅であり且つこれらの繊
維質層の間にあり、接着剤25の連続線で画成された中間
層によって形成された層状吸収体構造から製造され、こ
の吸収体要素の上には、中間層21と対応する幅を持つ実
質的に透過性のゾーン12を持つ、層状吸収体構造と同幅
の中間層10が重ねてある。
第９図の平面図に示すように、吸収体要素６の繊維質
層18、19、及び20、及び吸収体要素６上に重ねられた中
間層10の長手方向辺縁部分11によって形成された、構造
自体の下に折り返されるべきの部分30は、四つの斜めの
切り込み31及び二つの長手方向折り目線32によって構成
される。
第10図は、部分30を折り目線31に沿って吸収体構造の
下に折り返す方法を示す。
本発明による衛生ナプキンは、賦形されていようとな
かろうと、周知の側翼部を更に有するのがよい。使用に
当たっては、側翼部を持つ衛生タオルを使用者の下着の
内側に位置決めし、必要であればそこに固定する。この
際、側翼部は下着の下に折り返され、下着の外面にその
股領域で固定する。
第11図は、側翼部33を本発明に従って形成するための
方法を示す。十分に広幅の適当な中間層10を適当に折畳
んで吸収体要素６の下で「Ω」形状にする。
図示の構成では、各翼部33は、透過性の上層５、中間
層10、及び不透過性の下層７を重ねることによって形成
される。
本発明による衛生タオルは、吸収体要素６のみに又は
衛生タオル１の全構造にエンボス線が設けられているの
がよく、長手方向に大きく延びていることを特徴とす
る。
エンボス線の目的は、吸収体要素６の内側での液体の
長手方向での拡散を容易にすることであり、局部的に密
度を高くしたゾーンを構造自体に形成することであり、
又は衛生タオルが、使用時に、好ましい折畳み方法、例
えば、使用者の解剖学的形態に良好に適合できるように
「Ｗ」字形状に折畳む方法を採用するように好ましい折
り目線を提供することである。
本発明の衛生タオルの構造を形成する個々の層の全て
は、好ましくは、例えば接着剤で互いに固定されてい
る。
当然のことながら、本発明の原理は同じままであり、
本発明の範囲から逸脱することなく、構造の詳細を説明
し図示した形態から大きく変化させることができる。

Claims (21)

    (57)【特許請求の範囲】
  1. 【請求項１】液体透過性上層と、液体不透過性下層と、
    前記上層と前記下層との間の吸収体要素とを有し、吸収
    体要素は、２つの長手方向側縁部と、使用者の身体に向
    いた表面と、下着に向いた表面とを有し、身体に向いた
    表面及び長手方向側縁部は中間層で覆われ、中間層は、
    少なくともその中央部分に吸収体要素の長手方向側縁部
    に重なった液体不透過性部分と、前記吸収体要素の身体
    に向いた表面の少なくとも部分に液体透過性部分とを有
    する吸収体物品において、 前記中間層は、嵩が5cm3/g以上であり、水平方向拡散試
    験で計測した毛管拡散力が80mmの長さを150秒以下であ
    り、自由吸収試験で計測した吸収力が1g以下であり、両
    試験は長さが80mmで幅が25.4mmの中間層の材料の試料に
    ついて0.9重量％の塩水を使用して行われることを特徴
    とする吸収体物品。
  2. 【請求項２】中間層は、吸収体要素の下着に向かう側を
    少なくとも部分的に覆っていることを特徴とする請求項
    １に記載の吸収体物品。
  3. 【請求項３】中間層は、吸収体要素の身体に向いた側
    と、下着に向いた側と、側縁部に延びていることを特徴
    とする請求項２に記載の吸収体物品。
  4. 【請求項４】中間層（10）は、嵩が7cm3/g以上であるこ
    とを特徴とする請求項１乃至３のいずれか１項に記載の
    吸収体物品。
  5. 【請求項５】中間層の材料の毛管拡散力は、90秒以下で
    あることを特徴とする請求項４に記載の吸収体物品。
  6. 【請求項６】前記中間層の材料は、0.5g以下の吸収力を
    有することを特徴とする請求項４又は５に記載の吸収体
    物品。
  7. 【請求項７】中間層は、液体不透過性フィルムと毛管拡
    散力を有する層を形成する不織布材料で形成された層状
    構造を有することを特徴とする請求項４乃至６のいずれ
    か１項に記載の吸収体物品。
  8. 【請求項８】中間層は、２つの外側ポリプロピレン繊維
    層と中間のポリエチレンフィルム３層構造を有すること
    を特徴とする請求項７に記載の吸収体物品。
  9. 【請求項９】中間層の液体透過性部分は孔を有すること
    を特徴とする請求項７又は８に記載の吸収体物品。
  10. 【請求項１０】下停止層が不透過性下層と吸収体要素と
    の間に設けられていることを特徴とする請求項１乃至９
    のいずれか１項に記載の吸収体物品。
  11. 【請求項１１】吸収体要素が２つの長手方向側縁部を有
    し、吸収体要素は、長手方向中央収集ゾーーンと、収集
    ゾーンと長手方向側縁部の間に位置された２つの側ゾー
    ンとを有し、吸収体要素は、ヒドロゲル吸収体材料を有
    し、長手方向中央収集ゾーンのヒドロゲル吸収体材料の
    濃度は、側ゾーンのヒドロゲル吸収体材料の濃度よりも
    低いことを特徴とする請求項１乃至10のいずれか１項に
    記載の吸収体物品。
  12. 【請求項１２】吸収体要素は、２つの繊維質層と、２つ
    の繊維質層の間のヒドロゲル吸収体材料を有し、繊維質
    層の単位面積当たりのヒドロゲル材料の重量は、吸収体
    要素の長手方向中央収集領域において側ゾーンよりも低
    いことを特徴とする請求項11に記載の吸収体物品。
  13. 【請求項１３】吸収体要素は、中央収集ゾーンに少なく
    とも２つ繊維質層を有し、２つの繊維質層間にヒドロゲ
    ル吸収体材料が配置され、側ゾーンは、吸収体要素の使
    用者の身体に向かう側に、少なくとも１つ繊維質層と少
    なくとも１つのヒドロゲル吸収体材料層を有することを
    特徴とする請求項11に記載の吸収体物品。
  14. 【請求項１４】吸収体要素は、各側ゾーンが少なくとも
    ２対の繊維質層を有し、ヒドロゲル吸収体材料層が繊維
    質層の各対間に配置されるように、長手方向側縁部でそ
    れ自体の上に折り返えされることを特徴とする請求項13
    に記載の吸収体物品。
  15. 【請求項１５】繊維質層は、吸収体要素の長手方向側縁
    部に沿ってかつ長手方向中央収集ゾーンに沿って接着剤
    で互いに接合されることを特徴とする請求項13に記載の
    吸収体物品。
  16. 【請求項１６】収集層が繊維質層の第１及び第２の対間
    に位置されることを特徴とする請求項13乃至15のいずれ
    か１項に記載の吸収体物品。
  17. 【請求項１７】吸収体物品は、上層側から順に第１繊維
    質層と第２繊維質層と第３繊維質層を有し、第１繊維質
    層の密度は、第２繊維質層の密度よりも高く、第３繊維
    質層の密度は、第１繊維質層及び第２繊維質層（の密度
    よりも低いことを特徴とする請求項１乃至16のいずれか
    １項に記載の吸収体物品。
  18. 【請求項１８】各繊維質層の密度が、0.04g/cm3乃至0.2
    0g/cm3であることを特徴とする請求項17に記載の吸収体
    物品。
  19. 【請求項１９】第１繊維質層と第２繊維質層との間及び
    第３繊維質層と第２繊維質層との間にヒドロゲル吸収体
    材料が設けられていることを特徴とする請求項17又は18
    に記載の吸収体物品。
  20. 【請求項２０】第３繊維質層は、熱結合された繊維を有
    することを特徴とする請求項17乃至19のいずれか１項に
    記載の吸収体物品。
  21. 【請求項２１】吸収体要素は、長手方向に延びるエンボ
    ス線を備えて製造されることを特徴とする請求項１乃至
    20のいずれか１項に記載の吸収体物品。
