【発明の詳細な説明】 【0001】 【発明の属する技術分野】本発明はプリンタ等に用いる
給紙装置に関する。 【0002】 【従来の技術】用紙の先端一側を給紙ローラの摩擦によ
って引出し、これを紙送りローラと従動ローラのニップ
部に衝き当ててスキュー採りしながら紙送りする形式の
給紙装置では、ニップ部に衝き当って撓んだ用紙が腰折
れしないように紙送りローラの直前部分で用紙の撓みを
規制するための部材を設けるようにしているが、このよ
うな構成では、撓み規制部材が邪魔となって用紙のスタ
ック部上方を手差し経路として利用することができない
といった不都合が生じる。 【0003】 【発明が解決しようとする課題】本発明はこのような問
題に鑑みてなされたもので、その目的とするところは、
スキュー取りの際の用紙の腰折れを防ぐ機能を損なうこ
となく、手差し紙の経路を確保することのできる新たな
給紙装置を提供することにある。 【0004】 【課題を解決するための手段】すなわち、本発明はこの
ような課題を達成するための給紙装置として、給紙ロー
ラの回転と連動して動作する操作手段を設けて、紙送り
ローラの紙搬送方向上手側で用紙の撓みを規制する規制
部材を、この操作手段により給紙ローラの非給紙動作時
に手差し経路外へ退避させるようにしたものである。 【0005】 【発明の実施の形態】そこで以下に本発明の実施例につ

給紙ローラ12と同じ周期で回転する駆動ローラ8のカ
ム片9を摺接させて、規制部材1に規制位置と非規制位

ホッパ、15は用紙トレイ13の先端に設けた分離パッ
ド、16は用紙トレイ13の上に配設した手差しガイ
ド、17は紙端検出センサをそれぞれ示している。 【0010】つぎに、このように構成された装置の給紙
動作について説明すると、いま、給紙信号により給紙ロ
ーラ12が図中反時計方向に回転して用紙トレイ13内
の用紙を引出すと、これに連動して駆動ローラ8が図中
矢印方向に回転し、そのカム9によりベルクランクレバ
ー4をバネ5に抗して図中時計方向に回動させ、係止し
たピン3を介して制御部材を紙搬送方向下手側、つまり
規制位置へ回動変位させる。 【0011】これにより、給紙ローラ12によって紙送
りローラ10のニップ部Aに送り込まれた用紙は、紙送
りローラ10の周面よりも下方に延出した制御部材1の
周面2により過度の撓みを生じることなくスキュー取り
され、ついで紙送りローラ10の回転とともに図示しな
い記録書込み部のもとへ送り出される。 【0012】この状態では、規制部材1の先端1aは手
差しガイド16の延長線上に位置するため、手差し紙を
送り込むことはできないが、引続く給紙ローラ12の回
転により、その平らな面12aが、図2(a)に示した
ように、用紙の面と平行になるところまで回転してくる
と、駆動ローラ8もさらに図中矢印方向に回転してその
カム9によりベルクランクレバー4を反時計方向に回動
させて、規制部材1を紙搬送方向上手側に突出させた非

(a)に示したように、手差しガイド16の延長線から
上方に退避して、手差し紙ガイド16を案内とした手差

ュー取りの際の用紙の撓みを規制する部材を、給紙ロー
ラと連動して動作する操作手段によって非給紙時に手差
し経路から退避させるようにしたので、通常の円滑な用
紙送りを確保しつつ、この用紙送り経路を利用した手差
し紙の送りにも支障を及ぼさないようにして装置の小形
化を実現させるばかりでなく、手差しのための専用部品
やその操作をも不要にすることができる。
