2. Description of the Related Art Various methods have been studied to maintain the freshness of fruits and vegetables or to prevent the occurrence of mold. For example, JP-A-2-303469 discloses a method in which processed wasabi or mustard coexists with a preserved product, and JP-A-58-51842 discloses a method in which malic acid is added to the roots and branches of fruits and vegetables. Powder, aqueous solution, glycol solution, mixed with oxide, peroxide, polysaccharide, glue, metal salt, formaldehyde, ultrapine, etc. to the main component containing a bulking agent in organic acid such as tartaric acid, citric acid, etc. A method for preserving the freshness of fruits and vegetables, characterized in that a small amount of an alcohol solution is applied and packaged, is disclosed. Japanese Patent Application Laid-Open No. Sho 64-6034 discloses a method of applying 5-hydroxy-2-hydroxymethyl-γ-pyrone. A method for preserving the freshness of fruits and vegetables and cut flowers in which fruits and vegetables are packaged in a packaging film or sheet is disclosed.

Means for Solving the Problems The inventors of the present invention have conducted intensive studies to overcome the above-mentioned drawbacks of the prior art, and as a result, a water-absorbing cut-surface contact paper having a specific mass, smoothness and water absorption has been obtained from fruits and vegetables. The present inventors have found that the present invention is effective for maintaining freshness mainly due to discoloration on the cut surface of cut flowers, and have reached the present invention. That is, the present invention provides a basis weight of 25 g / m 2 or more, a smoothness of 1 second or more,
Water absorption of 60% or more fruits and vegetables, cut flowers Freshness absorbent switching of

[0005] It is presumed that the water-absorbing cut surface contact paper of the present invention is excellent in the effect of maintaining the freshness mainly by the effect of preventing discoloration due to the adsorption and removal of browning enzymes from the cut surface. The water-absorbing cut surface contact paper used in the present invention has a basis weight of 25 g /
m 2 or more, smoothness of 1 second or more, a water absorption ratio of 60% or more of the paper, preferably the basis weight 40 g / m 2 or more, smoothness of 3 seconds or more, a good water absorption rate of 80% or more of the paper.

The water-absorbing paper used in the present invention has a basis weight of 25 g.
/ M less than 2, it is inferior discoloration prevention effect of the cut surface of fruits or vegetables, cut flowers when a paper of water absorption below 60%. This is water absorbing
This is presumed to be due to insufficient removal of browning enzyme by paper . Further, even when paper having a smoothness of less than 1 second is used, the effect of preventing discoloration of cut surfaces of fruits and vegetables or cut flowers is inferior. This is also presumed to be due to the fact that the contact area between the water-absorbent paper and the cut surfaces of fruits and vegetables and cut flowers is small and the adhesion is insufficient, so that the adsorption and removal of the browning enzyme is insufficient.

[0007] The water-absorbing paper of the present invention has 2 to 2 carbon atoms.
A water-absorbing sheet formed by applying 10 organic acids is more effective. It is presumed that these organic acids suppress the action of browning enzymes. The organic acid having 2 to 10 carbon atoms is preferably selected from food additives from the viewpoint of food hygiene, such as adipic acid, citric acid, lactic acid, tartaric acid, kojic acid, glutamic acid, vitamin C malic acid and the like. Is preferred. The coating amount (content) of the organic acid is 0.03 to

As a method for incorporating the organic acid into the water-absorbing paper , a method in which the organic acid is dissolved or dispersed in a solvent such as water, alcohol, acetate, or the like and applied is preferable. In addition to the usual coating method using a brush or the like, a method of immersing a water-absorbing material in the solution or passing the water-absorbing material through the solution to adhere the solution can also be adopted.

The most efficient method for preventing discoloration of fruits and vegetables or cut flowers using the water-absorbent paper of the present invention is to bring the water-absorbent paper into substantial contact so that the cut surface is covered. The term “substantially contact” means that the cut surface is covered to such an extent that the discoloration preventing effect can be obtained, or the entire surface or a part of the cut surface is brought into contact. Specifically, the cut portion is wrapped in the fruits and vegetables or cut flowers with the water-absorbent paper , or the whole fruits and vegetables or cut flowers are wrapped. When the whole is wrapped, not only discoloration of the cut but also wilting, yellowing and decay of the leaves are suppressed, and freshness is maintained.

The present invention will be specifically described below with reference to examples. The grammage is measured according to JIS-P-8124,
The smoothness is determined by the Oji Laboratory test method [Time required for air to pass 10 cc between the sample and the rubber plate while the sample is in close contact with the rubber plate (seconds)]
The smaller the surface, the rougher the surface. ]. The water absorption was measured by the following method.

After immersion in water at 1 ° C. for 1 minute, take out and remove free water on the surface. The water absorption is determined by the following equation. Water absorption = (B−A) × 100 / A A: Weight of water-absorbing material before water absorption (g) B: Weight of water-absorbing material after water absorption (g) (Examples 1 to 3, Comparative Examples 1 to 4) )
