2. Description of the Related Art In recent years, the livestock industry in Japan has become more economical than ever due to market release pressure and a decrease in the livestock working population.
Efficient production is required. As a result, for example, in pigs, artificial milk is given to piglets at an early stage after parturition and the piglets are separated from the piglets to improve the production efficiency of the piglets. In addition, in order to improve productivity per unit land area, breeding is progressing. In such an environment, piglets switched from breast milk to artificial milk from early on suffered a great deal of stress, reduced feed intake, They are more susceptible to health problems such as weight loss due to diarrhea and disease. Conventionally, drugs such as antibiotics have been used as a countermeasure for this, but the use of drugs is being avoided as much as possible due to the problem of drug residues.

[0003] To solve this problem, there is a method of increasing the feed intake and growing the animal to a state where resistance is quickly obtained. However, the necessity of cost reduction has led to an increase in the use of inexpensive and poor feed materials. Due to the necessity of rationalization of production and the deterioration of feed raw material circumstances, the use of compound feed is being promoted, and the fact is that the taste of feed is deteriorating. For this reason, there is a need for a palatable feed and a feed-promoting substance that have an action of increasing feed intake. Conventionally, as a substance that has a feeding promoting effect, in the case of pigs, sugar, glucose,
Saccharin and other sugars (sweet substances) and umami substances such as sodium glutamate, and in the case of cows molasses, glucose,
Sweetening substances such as licorice and saccharin are known. Mixtures such as molasses and yeast extract are also known, but at present it is no longer sufficient to improve the palatability. For this reason, the use of ethyl alcohol (JP-A-6
2-100251), use of aminoacetic acid (JP-A-60-1985)
234551), addition of fermented milk and grape juice
The use of a number of substances, such as -76292), has been proposed, but no definitive has yet been found.

Means for Solving the Problems The present inventors have conducted intensive studies to solve the above-mentioned problems, and as a result, have found that a mixture obtained by mixing yeast extract and saccharide and then heat-treated has a strong feeding promoting effect. Thus, the present invention has been completed. That is, the present invention aims to improve the palatability by heat-treating a mixture of a yeast extract and a saccharide, and to use this as a raw material for palatable feed.

[0006] The yeast extract used in the present invention may be any yeast extract, among which 5'-inosinic acid and 5'-inosic acid.
Yeast extracts containing nucleic acid based taste components such as guanylic acid are suitable. As the sugar, any of monosaccharides such as glucose, fructose, xylose and ribose, oligosaccharides such as sucrose and lactose, and mixtures thereof such as molasses can be achieved. Yeast extract 1
Part: sugar 9 parts (solid content ratio) to yeast extract 9 part: sugar 1 part in a wide range, the effect of improving palatability as compared with the case without heat treatment is recognized, but the strength of the effect and From the viewpoint of economy, the range of 4 parts yeast extract: 6 parts saccharide to 8 parts yeast extract: 2 parts saccharide is particularly excellent. The heating temperature is 70 to 120 ° C., preferably 90 to 100 ° C., and the heating time is 1 to 360 minutes, preferably 5 to 30 minutes. If this condition is too severe, bitterness will occur. In addition, oxygen may be present, but heat treatment under conditions in which oxidation is less liable to occur gives a more excellent taste. The heat treatment may be performed with a solution or a powder, but is generally performed with a solution. The heat-treated product is then concentrated to a paste or powdered by spray drying or the like. The desired effect can be obtained by blending the thus-prepared raw material for feed with 0.1 to 5%, preferably 0.2 to 1% in various feeds.

When the product of the present invention is added to a feed, it has a higher feeding promoting effect than when the yeast extract or sugar as a raw material is added to the feed alone or simultaneously. The fact is that when both are mixed and heated, the odor changes and the aroma increases, so nitrogen-containing compounds such as amino acids, peptides, and nucleic acids in yeast extract and sugars undergo a non-enzymatic browning reaction, a so-called Maillard reaction, It is considered that the added substance acts as a flavor substance having a feeding promoting action. Although these flavor substances have not been identified at present, it can be confirmed from the fact that when both yeast extract and sugar are heat-treated, odors clearly differ from those of the raw materials. When the product of the present invention is added to feed, the aroma component acts in addition to the feed promoting effect originally possessed by yeast extract and saccharides, thereby dramatically increasing the feed intake of the feed, promoting growth and shortening the fattening time. The effect of improving the disease resistance is obtained. Hereinafter, the present invention will be specifically described with reference to examples of pigs, but the present invention is not limited thereto.

Feeding test of piglets For 30 piglets of 28 days-old weaning landrace piglets, after administration of the artificial milk taken during feeding for 3 days, they were divided into 5 piglets and 14 piglets.
The animals were group-fed for a day, and the feed was freely available. Feed intake and body weight were measured weekly. The results of the feeding test are shown in the table below.
As can be seen from the results, the feed containing the product of the present invention had a much stronger growth promoting effect than the raw material. It can be seen that this effect cannot be obtained only by adding only yeast extract or molasses, but can be obtained only by performing the heat treatment.
