The insulator of the coaxial connector in which the contacts are arranged is integrally connected to the housing of the composite connector on the mounting side of the outer conductor, and the outer conductor is connected to the housing by the mating side of the cooperating connector. Therefore, no slit is formed in the fitting portion of the external conductor with the cooperating connector. Therefore, there is no leakage of the transmitted signal at the fitting portion between the outer conductor and the outer conductor of the cooperating connector fitted to the outer conductor, and the transmission characteristics are good. When the mounting portion of the outer conductor is fitted and mounted in the gap between the insulator and the housing from the fitting side of the housing with the cooperating connector, the slit for insertion formed in the connecting portion between the insulator and the housing. The lead terminal for surface mounting inserted into the slit abuts on an inclined surface formed on the bottom surface of the slit, is deformed along the inclined surface, and when mounted at a specified position, its tip is in the surface mounting position, that is, the wiring board. When the connector is mounted on the wiring board, it is located at a position almost in contact with the conductive pad of the wiring board.
