以上のような従来の車いすには、次のような解決すべき課題があった。
（1）車いす1は移動するために使われ、座っている人及び、後方から押し引きする介助者の

車いす1の座面裏側2に、連結部10を取り付ける。なお、取り付け方法は接着剤、縫製、各種の手段を含む。車いすに座る人を座らせ、座面裏側2と床面18の長さを測り、バックル13で長さ調整し、清掃部16を適宜、調整する。また、マジックテープ15(マジックテープは株式会社クラレの登録商標)で調整も可能である。座面裏側2の取り付け位置は、利用者と接触する可能性が低ければ、どこの位置でも可能とする。車いす1の移動により引きずられた清掃部16は、床面18を滑るように進み、床面18の塵や髪の毛を吸着し清掃を行う。その際、清掃面17は、かまぼこ状の曲面をもち、車いす1の移動速度に対応し、清掃面17の接触面を変え、効率よく塵や髪の毛等を吸着する。車いす1が移動中、床面18の突然の段差に引っ掛かった場合や、使用者が清掃部16を踏み付けて、車いす1が急停止しないように、軽負荷で清掃部16が外れるように、マジックテープ15を備えている。このマジックテープ15は軽負荷で外れる装置であれば、針金や糸、糊付けした紙などの、各種の手段を含む。車いす1が前後左右に移動した際、清掃部16のねじれや、絡まりを防ぐため、連結部10の上端は、ロープ11もしくは、ベルト12となっている。このロープ11とベルト12の太さ、幅、厚さ、数量には定めがない。車いす1と清掃部16を各々水洗いする場合、容易に脱着出来るように、ワンタッチコネクター14が装着されている。また、ワンタッチコネクター14は、車いす1を折りたたんだ際に、清掃部16が他の部品に干渉し、破損及び収納の妨げにならないようにも機能する。
上記の連結部10と清掃部16の取り付けは、車いす1に限らず、ショツピングカート、レストランカート、工場内のカート等の台車に取り付けられ、同様の床面清掃が行える。
