However, according to such a conventional technique, even when the screw member 5 is stopped, the nut member 7 and the housing 6 maintain the backlash between the nut member 7 and the screw member 5. It is possible to make slight movements without any resistance by this amount, and this slight movement becomes a so-called rattling feeling of the seat as it is (discomfort felt by the occupant due to the slight movement of the seat in a rattling manner). There was a problem that the sitting feeling was impaired.

When the seat-side rail 2 stops at the front end and the rear end of the stroke, the front and rear end portions of the housing 6, which is a rigid body in any case, collide with a gear box or the like also made of a rigid body. Since the impact due to the collision is transmitted to the seat side to make the occupant feel uncomfortable, there is a problem that a good occupant's feeling of sitting is impaired.
As a technique capable of buffering the impact due to such mechanical engagement, the applicant has previously proposed an apparatus as disclosed in Japanese Utility Model Application No. 4-67007.

For this reason, in a state where a part of the elastic member (60) is supported by the periphery of the opening (53, 54) of the housing (50), the screw member (4) has a large area.
1). Thereby, an appropriate frictional resistance is generated between the elastic member (60) and the screw member (41), and the nut member (42) and the housing (50) are relative to the screw member (41). A moderate resistance is added to the simple movement (that is, the back and forth movement of the seat (B)). Therefore, even when the seat (B) slightly moves by the amount of the backlash between the nut member (42) and the screw member (41), such a slight movement becomes a gradual movement and no rattling is caused, and the occupant becomes immobile. There is no pleasure.

For this reason, the vicinity of the periphery of the through holes 63 and 64 which is a part of the elastic member 60 is close to the opening 5 of the housing 50.
While being supported within the peripheral edges of the screw members 3 and 54, the screw member 41 contacts the screw member 41 in a wide area. Thereby, an appropriate frictional resistance is generated between the elastic member 60 and the screw member 41, and an appropriate resistance to the relative movement of the nut member 42 and the housing 50 with respect to the screw member 41 (that is, the forward and backward movement of the seat B). Will be added. Therefore, even when the seat B slightly moves by the amount of the backlash between the nut member 42 and the screw member 41, such fine movement becomes a gradual movement and no rattling occurs, and the seating feeling of the occupant is further improved. Can be improved.
