SUMMARY OF THE INVENTION The above-mentioned Si-S
In manufacturing an iC-based sintered body, various jigs and protection sheet jigs are used for the purpose of supporting a formed body or protecting a crucible for firing. However, there is a problem that such a jig is easily deteriorated because it is used at a high temperature. In particular, in the case of a jig which is in contact with the Si-SiC sintered body and the molten metal Si during use, the jig is converted into SiC by reacting carbon (C), which is a material of the jig, with Si. Therefore, there is a problem that the jig is cracked after being used once or twice and cannot be used. Therefore, the present inventor repeated various studies and experiments in order to solve the above-mentioned conventional problems, and found that among the characteristics of the carbon jig, the bulk density was involved, and reached the present invention. .

The carbon jig for firing Si-SiC according to the present invention is used in contact with a Si-SiC sintered body and a molten metal Si, and has a bulk density of 1.75 to 1.9.
It is specified as 0 g / cm 3 . Such a jig is S
During firing of the i-SiC sintered body, the jig does not deteriorate due to the reaction of C-Si even if it is repeatedly used several tens of times.

The bulk density of the carbon jig of the present invention is 1.7.
If it is less than 5 g / cm 3 , there is a drawback that the jig deteriorates and cracks occur after one or two uses. On the other hand, if the bulk density exceeds 1.90 g / cm 3 , it becomes difficult to produce a large carbon jig, and cracks may occur due to the difference in density between portions (for example, a slight difference in density between the side and bottom surfaces of the crucible). May occur. The jig of the present invention is made of carbon. Of these, graphite is particularly preferable because of its heat resistance, corrosion resistance, and ease of processing. The surface of the carbon jig may be coated with boron nitride (BN) powder or the like for reaction prevention.

[0008] The carbon jig of the present invention, after pulverizing the raw material carbon to a predetermined particle size, kneading with the binder,
It can be manufactured by molding into a predetermined shape.
The molding method is not particularly limited, but CIP molding and extrusion molding are preferred. That is, in the case of the CIP molding, a uniform, dense and high-strength jig can be manufactured, and in the extrusion molding, a jig excellent in thermal shock resistance, though somewhat lacking in the denseness, can be manufactured.

EXAMPLES Hereinafter, the present invention will be described in more detail with reference to Examples, but the present invention is not limited to these Examples. (Example) Raw material graphite and carbon were finely pulverized,
After kneading with the binder, a jig having the shape shown in FIG. 1 was produced using various carbon molded products manufactured by Nippon Carbon Co., Ltd., which were produced by CIP molding, die molding and extrusion molding. Metallic Si was placed on this jig, and heating and cooling to 1800 ° C. in a vacuum were repeated 20 times, and the state in which the jig reacted with Si and deteriorated was inspected. Table 1 shows the results.

As is clear from Table 1, all of the molded articles had cracks in the jig in a single use, whereas CI
P-molded product and extruded product have a bulk density of 1.75 g / cm
Even when only three or more of them were used repeatedly 20 times, no crack was generated in the jig, and it was found that the jig was excellent in durability. Even if the surface of these jigs is coated with a reaction inhibitor such as BN, there is no problem in use, and similarly, the effect of extending the life of the jig can be obtained.

As described above, according to the jig of the present invention, when the Si-SiC sintered body is fired, even if it is repeatedly used several tens of times, it does not deteriorate and has extremely high durability. It has a remarkable effect of being excellent.
