[Conventional Example 1] In Conventional Example 1, as shown in FIG. 5, the replenishing tank 2 is disposed above the developing tank 1, so that the replenishing tank 2 interferes with the optical path of the optical system (see FIG. 4). In order to prevent this, it is absolutely necessary to enlarge the upper part of the image forming apparatus main body, which limits the miniaturization of the entire apparatus.

<Operation> In the means for solving the above problems, the first transport plate 34 and the second transport plate 35 rotate synchronously when toner is supplied. Then, the second transport plate 35 pushes up the toner accumulated at the lower part of the second supply tank 33 and transports the toner to the first supply tank 32 side, and the second transport plate 35 is moved to the second supply tank of the first supply tank 32. When it rotates to the same level as the periphery on the 33 side and becomes horizontal, the first supply tank
At 32, the toner is sufficiently conveyed. At this time,
The first transport plate 34, which is approximately 180 degrees in phase with the second transport plate 35, is also in a horizontal state, and the first transport plate 34 transfers the toner transported to the first supply tank 32 without unnecessary rotation. Transport to 46 side. Then, the transported toner is supplied to the developing tank 31 from the toner supply port 46 by the rotation of the supply roller 47.

In the above configuration, the operation of the developing device will be described. As shown in FIG. 3 (a), when the center shafts 51 and 52 are driven to rotate by the driving device, the first transport plate 34 and the second transport plate 35 respectively rotate clockwise. In this manner, the first supply tank 32 and the second supply tank 33 are arranged side by side in communication with the side of the development tank 31, and the first transfer plate 34 and the second supply tank 33 of the first supply tank 32 are connected to each other. Since the second transport plate 35 and the second transport plate 35 are mounted in a state of being substantially 180 degrees out of phase and the first transport plate 34 and the second transport plate 35 are controlled to rotate in synchronization, the toner is stored in the first supply tank 32. When there is enough, toner is supplied from the first supply tank 32 to the developing tank 31, and when the amount of toner in the first supply tank 32 decreases, toner is supplied from the second supply tank 33, and Is filled with toner.

Then, even in a high-speed / medium-speed developing device requiring a relatively large amount of toner, the developing device can be thinned while securing the toner capacity, so that the developing device can be laid out without interfering with the optical path of the optical system. be able to. Accordingly, downsizing such as reduction in the height of the entire image forming apparatus can be realized, and the number of toner replenishments can be reduced by increasing the toner capacity.

<Effects of the Invention> As is apparent from the above description, in the present invention, the first replenishment tank and the second replenishment tank having a larger capacity than the first replenishment tank are arranged side by side in a communicating state on the side of the developing tank. As a result, it is possible to reduce the thickness of the developing device while securing the capacity of the toner, and to lay out the developing device without interfering with the optical path of the optical system.

Accordingly, downsizing such as reduction in the height of the entire image forming apparatus can be realized. In addition, since the toner capacity can be increased, the number of times of toner replenishment can be reduced even in a developing device requiring a relatively large capacity toner such as a high-speed / medium-speed machine.

The second carrier plate pushes up the toner accumulated in the lower part of the second replenishing tank to supply the toner accumulated in the lower part of the first replenishment tank from the first carrier plate to the upper first replenishing tank. Since the toner is replenished to the developing tank from the toner replenishing port by sequentially transporting the toner to the developing tank, a fixed amount of toner is stably supplied without being influenced by the remaining toner amount in the first and second replenishing tanks. And the amount of residual toner in the developing tank can be kept constant.

Furthermore, since the first transport plate and the second transport plate are mounted in a state of being substantially 180 degrees out of phase, and are controlled to rotate in synchronization, the first transport plate and the second transport plate are positioned below the second supply tank by the second transport plate. When the collected toner is pushed up to the first replenishing tank, the toner is immediately conveyed to the toner replenishing port side by the first conveying plate, and sufficient toner can be replenished to the developing tank side in a timely manner. It can be done smoothly.

Further, when the second transport plate is arranged so as to be in a horizontal state when rotated to a height substantially equal to the level of the peripheral edge of the first supply tank on the side of the second supply tank, the second transfer plate is provided in the first supply tank by the second transfer plate. When the toner is sufficiently conveyed, the first conveyance plate is in a horizontal state, so that when the toner conveyed to the first supply tank is conveyed by the first conveyance plate, unnecessary rotation of the first conveyance plate can be eliminated, There is an excellent effect that faster and sufficient toner can be supplied to the developing tank side.

A first replenishing tank and a second replenishing tank having a larger capacity than the first replenishing tank are provided side by side in a communicating state on a side of the developing tank. A toner supply port is formed between the first supply tank and the toner supply port, and a lower portion of the second supply tank is located below the toner supply port. A replenishing roller for replenishing toner to the developing tank is rotatably supported at the toner replenishing port, and a first transport plate for transporting toner to the toner replenishing port side rotates in the first replenishing tank. The second supply tank is rotatably stored and supported, and the second supply tank is rotatably received and supported by the second supply tank, and a second transfer plate that pushes up the toner accumulated at a lower portion thereof and transports the toner to the first supply tank side. The second transfer plate and the second transfer plate are attached in a state of being substantially 180 degrees out of phase, and the first transfer plate and the second transfer plate are attached. There developing apparatus is characterized in that it is controlled to rotate synchronously.
