In such an apparatus, the cloth driving member 9 in each sewing machine is laterally moved in conjunction with each other, and the upper thread 8 and the lower thread 5 are moved.
Thus, the sewing on the cloth on the needle plate of each sewing machine is performed. In the process, as shown in FIG. 8, when the upper thread 8 breaks in some of the sewing machines 1b, due to inertia or a time delay from the detection of the known upper thread break detecting device to the stop operation from that state. Then, the apparatus stops in the state of FIG. 9 where several stitches have been advanced from the state of FIG. After the stop, in order to perform repair sewing on the sewing machine 1b, the cloth driving member 9 is returned as shown by an arrow 13 in FIG.
Through the needle hole. Next, while the operation of the needles 7 of the other sewing machines 1a and 1c is stopped, repair sewing is performed as shown in FIG. Thereafter, all the sewing needles 7 are operated to perform sewing as shown in FIG. Such an apparatus is also disclosed in, for example, Japanese Patent Publication No. 59-39540.

In this conventional method of repairing a needle thread break in a multi-head sewing machine, when performing repair stitching as shown in FIG.
In a and 1c, the lower thread 5 is loosened due to the lateral movement of the cloth driving member 9. Then, as in the case of the sewing machine 1a, for example, there is a problem that the blade point 6 of the rotating shuttle 4 is caught by the slack lower thread 5 and cuts the lower thread 5 as shown in FIG. When the bobbin thread is cut by such a sword tip 6, the bobbin thread 5 is cut at a position very close to the shuttle 4 and its tip 5b is hidden in the shuttle. There is a problem that even if an attempt is made to remove the entanglement between the loop 8 and the bobbin thread 5, it cannot be achieved, and sewing cannot be performed. Had to be done.

In such a state, the lower thread 5 is cut by operating the lower thread cutting device 11 of all the sewing machines 1a, 1b, 1c as shown in FIG. This operation may be automatically performed by a known control device, or may be manually performed by an operator while visually checking. The lower thread is cut by a sewing machine other than the upper thread break.
Only 1a and 1c may be performed. Next, after cutting the lower thread as described above, the cloth driving member 9 is moved to the point where the upper thread break occurs, or to the fifth point.
As shown in the figure, the number of stitches of the empty stitch in the sewing machine 1b and the number of stitches of the overlap stitch required in the sewing machine 1b are added to the point before and beyond that point, that is, as shown in FIG. Return by the number of stitches (stitch back). The number of stitches for the above-mentioned overlap sewing is usually 1 to 3. In this case, all the sewing machines are stopped. In the sewing machine 1b, the upper thread 8 is passed through the needle 7 again. This operation may be performed after the state shown in FIG.
