の掘削を行ない、コンクリート打設、または泥水固化に
よって前記一双のアーチシエル部3aを左右併進で構築
する。(図4参照)前記掘削機2は掘削機本体よりカツ
ター部2aを先端に支持し、且つ所要の剛性を有する円
弧状ロツド2bを継接していくように構成されている。
なお前記掘削機2によるアーチシエル部3aの掘削に先
行して、頂設導坑1に導入されたパイロツト掘削機4に
よってパイロツト孔5を掘削し、同パイロツト孔5を案
内として前記掘削機2によるアーチシエル部3aの掘削
を行なうものである。(図2参照)次いで前記頂設導坑
1内でシエルコンクリート3bを打設して、左右のアー
チシエル部3aを一体化して、トンネル掘削切羽前面に
アーチシエル3を構築する。(図5参照)次いで前記ア
ーチシエル3内でトンネル本体6を施工するが、同トン
ネル本体6の施工は剛強なアーチシエル3内での掘削作
業となるので、超大型断面トンネルも安全且つ速やかに
掘進されるものである。(図6参照)次いで前記掘削機
2を解体して撤去するとともに、前記頂設導坑1の埋め
