Description

【考案の詳細な説明】
【０００１】
【産業上の利用分野】本考案は、人体の大腿骨の骨頭が
骨折や変形性股関節症等により損傷を受けた時に代用と
して置換する人工骨頭に関するものである。
【０００２】
【従来技術】この種のセラミック製人工骨頭も商品とし
て市場に送り出す以上、製造番号等の履歴を表示する必
要がある。これを図４をもって説明すると、従来のマー
キング方法は焼結前の加工が完了したセラミック製人工
骨頭１の凹部開口端面２又は外周面３に数字等を刃物で
彫り込んで製造番号等の記号Ｓを表示していた。そし
て、その後に例えば金属製のステム（図示省略）を前記
凹部に挿入し固定することにより、完成品としていた。
又他の方法は、焼結後のセラミック完成品にレーザ又は
超音波加工機等で製造番号等を表示し金属製のステムを
前記凹部に挿入していた。

【考案が解決しようとする課題】従来のマーキング方法
はセラミック骨頭の凹部開口端面又は外周面に数字等を
彫り込んで製造番号等を表示していたが、この方法はセ
ラミックの表面にキズを付けることになり、これはセラ
ミック表面に欠陥を作ることである。その結果静荷重に
よる強度試験をすると、このキズが破壊の起点となって
彫り込みを付けない物と比較すると端面に彫り込みを付
けた物は強度が約２５％低下していた。又、このマーキ
ング方法は、表示する場所が限定された狭い場所に表示
しなければならないので表示の加工が困難で作業性に問
題があった。本考案は、この課題を解決するもので、セ
ラミック強度を低下させることなく、且つ簡易に記号表
示できるセラミック製人工骨頭を提供することを目的と
する。

【課題を解決するための手段】その手段は、ステムを挿
入する凹部を備えたセラミック製人工骨頭の該凹部の底
部に、記号を記入したシートを挿入するところにある。
ここで、上記のシートは板状で形状は円板が良いが多角
形でも良い。材質は樹脂又はメタルで樹脂の場合は高密
度ポリエチレンが良いが、テフロン、ポリアセタール等
でも良く、又メタルはチタンが望ましいがステンレス
鋼、コバルトクロム等であっても良く耐食性且つ無毒性
の物が良い。このシートの大きさは、骨頭の内径より直
径で０．２〜２mm大きくして円板を作り、又厚みは０．
１〜２mmの板状として、円板の外周には切り欠き溝を又
円板内に穴を設けて滅菌処理時のガス通過口を設けてあ
る。この表面に製造番号等を刻印で数字等を打ち込み表
示する。
【０００５】この様にしてマーキングしたシートを骨頭
の内径底部に挿入固定保存する。すなわち、マーキング
シートは骨頭の内径に対し、直径で約１mm程度大きく作
ってあるので、これを骨頭の内径底部まで押し込む。こ
の状態でマーキングシートは径が大きい分だけ板状の部
分が湾曲状となり、骨頭の内径底部の内周面に接触して
宙いた状態で止って固定されている。
【０００６】本考案セラミック製人工骨頭はステムと分
割に製作し、骨頭の凹部とステムの凸部の各テーパ面で
嵌合固定する方式である。この様な凹凸嵌合の場合、通
常、骨頭の内径テーパ面を高精度に加工する必要があ
り、それには骨頭の内径テーパ面を研削加工するが、そ
の場合の砥石の加工用逃げ溝が必要でこれが骨頭内径テ
ーパ底部に設けてある。この加工用逃げの空間を利用し
てこの中にマーキングシートを保存する様にすることも
できる。
【０００７】
【考案の作用及び効果】本考案は、セラミック骨頭に直
接表示しないので従来の物の様に強度が下がる問題がな
い。そして、シートへの記号表示は、シートを骨頭に挿
入する前にできるので、シートの全面積を活用すること
ができ、作業性が良好である。尚、履歴を表示したマー
キングシートは骨頭の内部に保存されているので、骨頭
が破壊しないかぎり保存状態は完璧である。仮に骨頭が
破壊したとしても、マーキングシートは空間部に宙いた
状態で止っている為に表示が判らない様なダメージは受
けないので履歴の確認が確実に出来る。

（Ａ）のセラミック製人工骨頭を紙面の右方向から眺め
た側面図である。図２（Ａ）及び図２（Ｂ）はそれぞれ
シート単体の平面図で、いずれも円板形状をなし、片面
に製造番号を刻印で表示してある。尚、図２（Ａ）のシ
ートは外周２ヶ所にガス通過用長溝が、また図２（Ｂ）
のシートは円板内に厚み方向に貫通したガス通過用の孔
がそれぞれ設けてある。図３は、セラミック製人工骨頭
１にシート６を挿入した後ステムを挿入した実際の使用
状態に近いステム軸方向の断面図である。
【０００９】各部の詳細を説明すると、人工骨頭１は、
アルミナ、ジルコニア、燐酸カルシウム等のセラミック
からなり、例えば直径22〜32mm程度の球状の外形を呈し
ており、一側にほぼ中心部まで窪んだ凹部４が形成され
たものである。この凹部４は、開口径10〜12mmでこの開
口径よりも１mmだけ径小となるように底に近くなるにつ
れて内径が漸減するテーパ状の側面を有し、底面の少し
手前で径大となっている。この径大部は、上記径小部よ
りも0.5 〜2mm 大きい径で、凹部４の内側面の加工用逃
げ溝５として設けられるものである。
【００１０】シート６は、厚み０．５mm、直径が加工用
逃げ溝５のそれよりも１mm程度大きい高密度ポリエチレ
ン製円板形状で、外周の２ヶ所に滅菌処理時のガスが通
過出来るように、切り欠きの長溝７が設けてあり、一主
面に製造番号等を刻印で打って表示してあるものであ
る。シート６は、弾性変形した状態で前記加工用逃げ溝
５内に挿入され、その弾性力が加工用逃げ溝５の側面に
作用することにより、固定されている。
【００１１】人工骨頭１は、球状の未焼成セラミック体
にドリル等を用いて凹部４を形成し、焼成後に凹部４の
内側面を砥石で研削することによって製造された。この
時、加工用逃げ溝５があるため、凹部４のテーパ面全体
に砥石を当てることができた。そして、シート６を骨頭
の凹部４の底部まで強制的に押し込んだ。これでシート
６は加工用逃げ溝５の内周面に湾曲状態で接触し、シー
トが湾曲することによりバネ性が出て軽く固定状態とな
った。シート６はガタなく安定した状態で保持された。
その後、人工骨頭１をシート６挿入状態でガスにより滅
菌処理し、ステム８の凸部を凹部４に嵌合し固定した
（図３）。骨頭内径底部とステム先端面には約２mm程度
の空間があり、その為シート６をステム先端で押しつぶ
すことはなかった。
