Description
The present invention relates to a tape cutter and a cutter unit that cuts adhesive tape pulled out from an adhesive tape roll.
Adhesive tapes such as craft tape and polypropylene (PP) tape with a tape width of about 25 to 100 mm are used for sealing cardboard boxes. One side of the adhesive tape is a long substrate with an adhesive layer on it, and the tape is wound multiple times around a cylindrical paper tube or other core with the adhesive side facing inward to form a roll of adhesive tape.
For example, when a product is packed in a cardboard box, the bottom side is first turned up, and a pair of inner flaps (flaps on both sides in the length direction) on the bottom side are folded inward, and then a pair of outer flaps (flaps on both sides in the width direction) are folded inward so as to overlap the pair of inner flaps. Next, the adhesive tape is pulled out from the adhesive tape roll, and while the pair of outer flaps are held in a butted state, the tip portion of the adhesive tape is attached to one side surface in the length direction of the cardboard box. The adhesive tape is attached across the pair of outer flaps, and is further pulled out to reach the other side surface, cut with a jagged cutter blade, etc., and the jagged cut portion is attached to the other side surface of the cardboard box. This seals the bottom surface of the cardboard box. Then, the cardboard box is turned upside down, and the product is placed inside the cardboard box, and the top surface of the cardboard box is sealed in the same manner as the bottom side.
The adhesive tape sealing the top of the cardboard box is either torn off or cut with a cutter blade when the box is opened.
When adhesive tape is peeled off, the end of the adhesive tape is scratched up with the fingernails, etc., to form a gripping area for grasping with the fingers. However, an adhesive layer is provided over the entire adhesive surface, and this entire surface is attached to the cardboard box. This makes it difficult to scratch up the end of the adhesive tape, and the adhesive may also adhere to the fingernails that are scratched up. Therefore, scratching up the end of the adhesive tape is a very tedious, cumbersome, and time-consuming task.
A tape cutter has been proposed in which a cutter member with a cutter blade at its tip is arranged to be able to swing between a close position where it is close to the adhesive tape roll and a separated position where it is separated from the adhesive tape roll. In this tape cutter, the adhesive tape pulled out from the adhesive tape roll is cut by the cutter blade while the cutter member is in the separated position. The leading edge formed by this cutting is provisionally adhered to a flat receiving surface provided on the adhesive tape roll side of the cutter blade. When the cutter member is then moved from the separated position to the close position, the leading edge of the adhesive tape is folded back onto the adhesive surface, and the adhesive surfaces of the folded back portions overlap to form a tab that can be held with the fingers when peeling the adhesive tape off of a cardboard box or the like.
However, there is room for improvement in the structure of the proposal.
The object of the present invention is to provide a tape cutter and cutter unit that can effectively form a tab that can be gripped when peeling off the adhesive tape and is easy to use.
In order to achieve the above object, a tape cutter according to one aspect of the present invention is a tape cutter that supports an adhesive tape roll in which an adhesive tape having an adhesive surface and a non-adhesive surface on one side and the other side, respectively, is wound in multiple layers around a cylindrical core with the adhesive surface on the inner circumference side, and cuts the adhesive tape pulled out from the adhesive tape roll, and has a cylindrical core support part that is inserted into the core and rotatably supports the core, an extension part that extends from the core support part radially outward from the core support part, and a tape cutter that is supported by the extension part and extends parallel to the center line of the core support part, and supports the adhesive tape pulled out from the adhesive tape roll from the adhesive surface side. The tape support section includes an elastic section supported by the extension section at a support position spaced from the tape support section on the side opposite to the side of the adhesive tape supported by the tape support section and extending from the support position toward a cutting position spaced from the support position in the direction in which the adhesive tape is pulled out relative to the tape support section, a cutter section supported by the elastic section and cutting the adhesive tape, and a temporary adhesive section supported by the elastic section and positioned on the tape support section side relative to the cutter section, to which the adhesive tape pulled out from the adhesive tape roll is temporarily adhered, and the elastic section is configured to be elastically deformable from a shape in which the cutter section is positioned at the cutting position to a shape in which the temporary adhesive section is positioned in close proximity to the tape support section.
According to this configuration, a cylindrical core support part and an extension part that extends from the core support part to the outside in the radial direction of the core support part are provided. The extension part supports a tape support part that extends parallel to the center line of the core support part.
The adhesive tape is wound multiple times around a cylindrical core such as a paper tube with the adhesive side facing the inner circumference, forming a roll of adhesive tape. A core support is inserted into the core of the adhesive roll, so that the core is rotatably supported by the core support. The adhesive tape is pulled out from the adhesive roll and supported by the tape support with the adhesive side facing the tape support.
The elastic portion is supported on the extension portion at a support position spaced away from the side of the adhesive tape supported by the tape support portion. The elastic portion extends from the support position toward a cutting position spaced away from the tape support portion in the direction in which the adhesive tape is pulled out. The elastic portion supports a cutter portion that cuts the adhesive tape and a temporary adhesive portion to which the adhesive tape is temporarily adhered. The temporary adhesive portion is provided on the tape support portion side relative to the cutter portion.
When the adhesive tape pulled out from the adhesive roll is cut by the cutter, the adhesive tape remaining on the adhesive roll straddles between the cutter and the tape support, and is temporarily adhered to the cutter, the temporary adhesive portion, and the tape support. This prevents the tip of the adhesive tape from rewinding back onto the circumferential surface of the adhesive roll and adhering thereto, and when the adhesive tape is next pulled out, the adhesive tape straddled between the temporary adhesive portion and the tape support can be grasped with the fingers without having to scratch the tip of the adhesive tape with the fingernails or the like.
The elastic portion is configured to be elastically deformable from a shape in which the cutter portion is disposed at the cutting position to a shape in which the temporary adhesive portion is disposed at a proximal position adjacent to the tape support portion. Therefore, after the adhesive tape drawn out from the adhesive roll is cut by the cutter portion, the elastic portion is elastically deformed and the temporary adhesive portion is moved from the position before the elastic deformation to the proximal position, and the adhesive tape is maintained in a state of being stretched linearly between the cutter portion and the temporary adhesive portion, so that the adhesive tape is bent between the temporary adhesive portion and the tape support portion so as to bulge toward the non-adhesive surface side, and the adhesive surfaces of the adhesive tape are adhered to each other. Then, when the force applied to the elastic portion for the elastic deformation is released, the elastic portion is restored and the temporary adhesive portion returns from the proximal position to its original position. The adhesive force of the adhesive tape to the temporary adhesive portion is weaker than the adhesive force of the adhesive tape to the non-adhesive surface of the adhesive tape, and when the temporary adhesive portion returns from the proximal position to its original position, the temporary adhesive portion separates from the adhesive surface of the adhesive tape. As a result, a tab that serves as a grip when peeling the adhesive tape from a cardboard box or the like can be well formed at the tip of the adhesive tape. Furthermore, because the temporary adhesive portion is separated from the adhesive tape, the tab is easy to grasp, making it easier to use than previously proposed configurations.
The elastic portion may have a first elastic plate that is provided relatively closer to the cutting position and has a relatively long extension from the support position, and a second elastic plate that is provided relatively closer to the proximal position and has a relatively short extension from the support position, and the base ends of the first elastic plate and the second elastic plate may be overlapped at the support position.
This results in a configuration in which the elastic portion is easily elastically deformed toward the second elastic plate, and the temporary adhesive portion can be easily moved from its original position to a nearby position by the elastic deformation of the elastic portion. Then, when the force applied to the elastic portion for the elastic deformation is released, the elastic portion is restored so that the temporary adhesive portion returns from the nearby position to its original position.
The cutter portion and the temporary adhesive portion may be supported by being sandwiched between the distal ends of the first elastic plate and the second elastic plate.
A spacer may be interposed between the base end of the first elastic plate and the base end of the second elastic plate.
As a result, at the beginning of the elastic deformation of the elastic portion, the amount of elastic deformation of the first elastic plate is greater than the amount of elastic deformation of the second elastic plate, the first elastic plate elastically deforms to approach the second elastic plate, and the tip of the temporary adhesive portion moves in an approximately linear manner. Therefore, even if the portion of the adhesive tape that spans between the tape support portion and the temporary adhesive portion is weak, when the elastic portion elastically deforms, the adhesive tape can bulge toward the non-adhesive surface so that the adhesive surfaces between the tape support portion and the temporary adhesive portion are close to each other.
The first elastic plate and the second elastic plate may be integrally formed by folding a long plate-like body, and the cutter section and the temporary adhesive section may be attached to and supported by the portion where the plate-like body is folded back to form the first elastic plate and the second elastic plate.
The temporary adhesive portion is made of a plate-like body extending in the width direction of the adhesive tape, and it is preferable that the leading edge where the adhesive tape is temporarily adhered is formed in an uneven shape.
This configuration allows the adhesive tape temporarily adhered to the temporary adhesive portion to have some stiffness due to the unevenness. By giving the adhesive tape some stiffness and tensioning it in a straight line between the cutter section and the temporary adhesive portion, when the temporary adhesive portion is moved from its position before elastic deformation to its adjacent position, the adhesive tape is more likely to bend to the side where the adhesive surfaces of the adhesive tape overlap (the non-adhesive side of the adhesive tape) between the temporary adhesive portion and the first roller, allowing a tab to be satisfactorily formed at the tip of the adhesive tape.
The tape support portion may be a first roller that is rotatably supported on the extension portion.
In this configuration, the first roller rotates when the adhesive tape is pulled out. This allows the adhesive tape to be pulled out smoothly.
The tape cutter may further include a second roller that is rotatably supported on the extension and extends parallel to the center line of the core support, and is positioned on the non-adhesive side of the adhesive tape pulled out from the adhesive tape roll with a gap between its circumferential surface and the circumferential surface of the first roller to allow the adhesive tape to pass through.
It is preferable that the peripheral surface of the first roller is formed with a plurality of circumferential grooves extending in the circumferential direction.
This configuration allows the adhesive tape temporarily adhered to the peripheral surface of the first roller to have some stiffness due to the unevenness. As a result, when the temporary adhesive portion is moved from its position before elastic deformation to a position close to the roller, the adhesive tape bends to the side where the adhesive surfaces of the adhesive tape overlap between the temporary adhesive portion and the first roller, and a tab can be formed well at the tip of the adhesive tape.
A cutter unit according to another aspect of the present invention is a cutter unit that is inserted into the core of an adhesive tape roll in which an adhesive tape having an adhesive surface and a non-adhesive surface on one side and the other side, respectively, is wound in multiple layers around a cylindrical core with the adhesive surface on the inner periphery, and is attached to a tape holder having a core support part that rotatably supports the core and a first extension part that extends from the core support part to the outside in the radial direction of the core support part, and cuts the adhesive tape pulled out from the adhesive tape roll, and the cutter unit has a second extension part that is attached to the first extension part and extends in a direction away from the tape support part, and a second extension part that is supported by the second extension part and extends parallel to the center line of the core support part when the second extension part is attached to the first extension part, and cuts the adhesive tape pulled out from the adhesive tape roll. The tape support section supports from the receiving side, and includes an elastic section supported by the tip of the second extending section and extending from the tip of the second extending section toward a cutting position spaced from the tip of the second extending section in the pulling direction of the adhesive tape relative to the tape support section when the second extending section is attached to the first extending section, a cutter section supported by the elastic section and cutting the adhesive tape, and a temporary adhesive section supported by the elastic section and positioned on the tape support section side relative to the cutter section when the second extending section is attached to the first extending section, to which the adhesive tape pulled out from the adhesive tape roll is temporarily adhered, and the elastic section is configured to be elastically deformable from a shape in which the cutter section is positioned at the cutting position to a shape in which the temporary adhesive section is positioned in close proximity to the tape support section when the second extending section is attached to the first extending section.
Tape holders with a core support portion and a tape support portion are commercially available.

The
The

An
The
The
The

<How to use the tape cutter>
FIG. 5 is a view of the
When the
After that, when the first

Figure 6 is a perspective view of the
For example, when a product or other item is packaged in a
As shown in FIG. 7, a tab T is formed at the tip of the
<Action and effect>
As described above, the
The
When the
The
After that, when the force applied to the

The second
The

The configurations shown in Figures 9 and 10 can achieve the same effects as the configuration shown in Figure 8. In addition, the configurations shown in Figures 9 and 10 omit the
The configuration shown in FIG. 11 may be adopted. In FIG. 11, parts corresponding to the parts shown in FIG. 9 are given the same reference numerals as those parts.
In the configuration shown in FIG. 9, the
Figure 12A is a diagram for explaining the trajectory of
In the
As described above, when the
In the
In the configuration of the
