Description
This disclosure relates to fuel cells.
Various researches are being conducted on fuel cells (FC).
For example, Patent Document 1 discloses a fuel cell in which a protrusion is disposed at a gas inlet/outlet portion, the cell thickness is reduced, and the cross-sectional area of the flow passage is increased, thereby achieving low pressure loss.
However, in conventional technology, there was a problem in that the frame members of the power generation unit cells of the fuel cell would bend and enter the gas flow path, narrowing the gas flow path and increasing pressure loss.

This application discloses a fuel cell in which power generation unit cells are stacked, each having a power generation element, a frame member arranged around the power generation element, and a pair of separators stacked on the frame member so as to sandwich the power generation element and the frame member, and at least one of the pair of separators has a flow path for supplying gas to the power generation element, and a step portion is formed in the pair of separators so as to sandwich the flow path in a direction perpendicular to the stacking direction.
This disclosure provides a fuel cell that can suppress deflection of the frame member into the gas flow path and achieve low pressure loss.

The reaction gas manifolds on the multiple frame members and the reaction gas manifolds on the multiple separators are aligned and positioned. As a result, the reaction gas manifolds on the frame members and the reaction gas manifolds on the separators are positioned so that they communicate in the stacking direction, and multiple reaction gas manifolds are formed in the power

That is, the separator has a communication part that connects the reactant gas flow passage and the reactant gas manifold. For example, in the

FIG. 2C is a plan view of the power
Fig. 3(c) is a schematic diagram showing a cross section of the power
As shown in Figures 3(a) and (b), when the power generation unit cells of a conventional fuel cell are laminated and compressed, if heat and load are applied during a heating and bonding process or the like, the thermal expansion and deformation of the sheets can cause the frame members to bend and enter the flow path that supplies gas to the power generation element of the fuel cell. When the frame members bend, the cross-sectional area of the flow path that supplies gas is narrowed, increasing the pressure loss and increasing the variation in pressure loss, resulting in a problem of deteriorating power generation performance.
As shown in Figures 3(c) and (d) , in the power

As a result, the

The height difference H of the
