Abstract
Description
The present invention relates to a method for manufacturing a secondary battery.
In the method for manufacturing a secondary battery described in
In such a method for manufacturing a secondary battery, if a large load is applied to the electrode body during aging, there is a risk that the electrode body may be crushed or deformed. In this case, the spring constant of the electrode body may become large. When the spring constant of the electrode body increases, the stackability of the secondary battery decreases.
A method for manufacturing a secondary battery that solves the above problems is a method for manufacturing a secondary battery in which aging is performed with a load applied to the electrode body, and the method includes measuring the spring constant of the electrode body before aging. , calculating an upper limit value of a load to be applied to the electrode body during aging based on a measured spring constant of the electrode body and a predetermined upper limit value of displacement of the electrode body; and the calculated upper limit value of the load. Aging is performed in a state where the following loads are applied to the electrode body.
By multiplying the amount of displacement of the electrode body by the spring constant, the load required to cause the electrode body to be displaced by the amount of displacement is calculated. That is, by multiplying the spring constant and the displacement upper limit value, the upper limit value of the load to be applied to the electrode body during aging is determined. Therefore, according to the above method, a secondary battery with good performance can be manufactured.
In the above method for manufacturing a secondary battery, the upper limit value of displacement is based on the spring constant of each of the plurality of secondary batteries measured when the batteries are displaced by different amounts of displacement by applying different loads to each one during aging. It may be a predetermined value.
By measuring the spring constant of a plurality of secondary batteries that are displaced by different amounts of displacement by applying different loads during aging, it is possible to determine the change in the spring constant with respect to the amount of displacement. The amount of displacement when the spring constant becomes large indicates the amount of displacement at which the electrode body is deformed to collapse, that is, the load. Therefore, the displacement amount immediately before the spring constant increases is the displacement amount upper limit value. According to the above-mentioned method using the displacement amount upper limit determined in this way, a secondary battery with good performance can be manufactured.
In the above method for manufacturing a secondary battery, the upper limit value of displacement is determined by determining the upper limit value of the displacement amount of a secondary battery whose displacement amount is 0 among the plurality of secondary batteries which are respectively displaced by different displacement amounts by applying different loads during aging. It may be a predetermined value based on a range set based on the spring constant of the battery.
The displacement amount upper limit value is determined based on the spring constant of the secondary battery whose displacement amount is 0. Therefore, for example, if the measured spring constant of a secondary battery exceeds a predetermined range that includes the spring constant of a secondary battery whose displacement amount is 0 among multiple secondary batteries, the measured spring constant becomes large. It can be interpreted as According to the above-mentioned method using the displacement amount upper limit determined in this way, a secondary battery with good performance can be manufactured.
The method for manufacturing the secondary battery includes calculating a lower limit value of the load to be applied to the electrode body during aging based on a measured spring constant of the electrode body and a predetermined lower limit value of displacement of the electrode body. and performing the aging while applying a load to the electrode body that is equal to or less than the calculated upper limit of the load and equal to or more than the calculated lower limit of the load.
If the load applied to the electrode body during aging is small, there is a risk that gas will not be sufficiently exhausted. By multiplying the spring constant and the displacement lower limit, the lower limit of the load to be applied to the electrode body during aging is calculated. Therefore, according to the above method, a secondary battery with good performance can be manufactured.
In the above method for manufacturing a secondary battery, the lower limit of the displacement amount is the residual amount of gas measured when each of the plurality of secondary batteries is displaced by a different amount of displacement by applying a different load to each one during aging. It may be a predetermined value based on.
The amount of gas remaining in the secondary battery can be ascertained from, for example, a CT image of the secondary battery. Therefore, for example, the lower limit of the displacement amount can be determined based on the residual amount of gas from a CT image of the secondary battery. According to the above method using the displacement amount lower limit determined in this way, a secondary battery with good performance can be manufactured.
In the method for manufacturing a secondary battery, the amount of displacement when a first load is applied to the electrode body and the amount of displacement when a second load smaller than the first load is applied to the electrode body before aging. The spring constant may be measured based on the difference between According to the above method, the spring constant of the secondary battery can be measured with higher accuracy than when a single load is applied.
In the method for manufacturing a secondary battery, the upper limit of the displacement amount may be 0.024 mm, and the lower limit of the displacement amount may be 0.008 mm. According to the above method, a secondary battery with good performance can be manufactured.
According to the present invention, a secondary battery with good performance can be manufactured.

As shown in FIG. 3, the manufacturing process includes steps S11 to S17.
In step S11, a source process is performed. In the source process, a
In step S12, an assembly process is performed. In the assembly process, the
In step S13, an initial charging process is performed. In the initial charging step, the assembled
In the initial charging step, the
In step S14, a load determination step is performed. In the load determination step, the load to be applied to the
In step S15, an aging process is performed. In the aging process, the
In the aging process, the
In the aging process, if the load is large, the
In the aging process, if the load is small, there is a risk that the amount of gas remaining in the
As described above, in the aging process, it is important to appropriately control the load applied to the
In step S16, a self-discharge testing process is performed. In the self-discharge testing step, the quality of the
In step S17, a shipping inspection is performed. In the shipping inspection, the quality of the
<Load determination process>
Next, a method of determining the load carried out in the load determining step will be explained.
The load applied to the
When a load is applied to the
As shown in FIG. 4, the loading process includes steps S21 to S24.
In step S21, the spring constant of the
As shown in FIG. 5, the spring constant of the
The first load F1 is a larger load than the second load F2. Therefore, the amount of displacement of the
The spring constant of the
As shown in FIG. 4, in step S22, the upper limit value of the load is calculated. Specifically, the upper limit value of the load is calculated by multiplying the displacement upper limit value XU by the measured spring constant. In this specification, the upper limit value of the load is referred to as the upper limit load value FU. Therefore, the load upper limit value FU is calculated based on the displacement amount upper limit value XU. The displacement amount upper limit value XU is a predetermined value. The displacement amount upper limit value XU will be explained later.
In step S23, a lower limit value of the load may be calculated. For example, the lower limit value of the load is calculated by multiplying the lower limit value XL of displacement by the measured spring constant. In this specification, the lower limit value of the load is referred to as the lower limit value FL of the load. Therefore, the load lower limit value FL is calculated based on the displacement amount lower limit value XL. The displacement amount lower limit value XL is a predetermined value. The displacement amount lower limit value XL will be explained later.
In step S24, the load to be applied during aging is determined. That is, the load applied during aging is determined to be equal to or less than the upper limit load value FU. Preferably, the load applied during aging is determined to be less than or equal to the upper load limit FU and greater than or equal to the lower load limit FL. In this case, the load to be applied during aging is determined within the range defined by the load upper limit value FU and the load lower limit value FL.
As described above, the method for manufacturing the
<How to determine the upper limit of displacement amount and the lower limit of displacement amount>
Next, a method of determining the displacement amount upper limit value XU and the displacement amount lower limit value XL will be explained. In this specification, a method for determining the displacement upper limit value XU and the displacement lower limit value XL will be explained using two types of

The manufacturer prepares a plurality of
As shown in FIG. 6, the manufacturer ages a plurality of
The manufacturer measures the spring constant of each of the plurality of
The manufacturer determines the displacement amount upper limit XU from each spring constant. For example, the manufacturer determines the displacement amount upper limit XU based on the spring constant exhibited by the
The manufacturer determines the displacement amount immediately before the spring constant becomes larger than the range set based on the spring constant exhibited by the

Next, the effects of the above embodiment will be explained.
(1) The method for manufacturing the

By measuring the spring constant of each of the plurality of

(5) The displacement amount lower limit XL is predetermined based on the residual amount of gas measured when the plurality of
The amount of gas remaining in the
(6) Before aging, the difference between the amount of displacement when the first load F1 is applied to the
