Abstract
Description
The present invention relates to a tubular body such as a shaft used in a golf club, and a method for forming decorations that can be applied to such a tubular body.
Conventionally, the above-described tubular body has been decorated with various decorations to improve its appearance. For example, a shaft for a golf club has a matte-colored appearance as a whole, and a logo (hereinafter also referred to as a pattern) such as letters, character strings, figures, and character strings is partially formed by printing, transfer, etc. things are being done. In this case, by giving the pattern a glossy appearance, or by giving the entire shaft a glossy appearance and the logo a matte appearance, the contrast between the pattern and the area where the pattern is not formed can be improved. This improves design quality and improves design quality.
For example, as disclosed in Patent Document 1, the above-mentioned decoration is made by treating the surface of the shaft so that there are no irregularities, forming a pattern (pattern layer) thereon, and finally applying a protective layer. A similar formation method is used. That is, the surface of the shaft before the pattern layer is formed is finished to have as little unevenness as possible.
In the method for forming decorations described above, since the pattern is provided on the shaft surface without unevenness, there is a problem in that the adhesion of the pattern is poor. In particular, golf club shafts tend to bend when swinging and hitting a ball, and vibrations at the time of hitting the ball are transmitted, which may cause the patterned portion to peel off. In this case, the adhesion of the pattern can be achieved by roughening the surface of the main body in advance and providing a pattern on that surface, but when a protective layer is applied, the appearance texture of the main body and the appearance texture of the pattern are almost the same. Therefore, there is a problem that an appearance with improved contrast cannot be obtained. Note that, if a protective layer is not formed, although the appearance can be improved, the problem arises that the environmental resistance and adhesion strength are reduced.
The present invention has been made based on the above-mentioned problems, and provides a tubular body having a decoration with improved appearance, good environmental resistance and adhesion, and a method for forming such a decoration. The purpose is to
In order to achieve the above object, the tubular body according to the present invention includes: a base layer having a first appearance; a pattern layer having a second appearance different from the first appearance; a clear layer deposited on the pattern layer, a modified area is formed on the surface of the base layer in an area slightly larger than the outline of the pattern constituting the pattern layer, and The outer edge of the modified region is exposed outside the contour of the base layer, and the clear layer is provided on the surface of the pattern and the surface of the exposed outer edge, excluding the surface of the base layer. do.
The tubular body having the above configuration includes forming a modified region slightly larger than the pattern in the base layer having the first appearance, and forming a pattern layer having the second appearance in the modified region. There is. By providing the pattern layer on the surface of the modified area, it is possible to improve the adhesion, and with respect to the clear layer, by providing it in the exposed modified area outside the outline of the pattern that makes up the pattern layer, the clear layer can be improved. Adhesion is also improved. Further, since the clear layer is provided on a surface other than the surface of the base layer, the texture of the first appearance and the second appearance will not be the same, and the appearance can be improved.
Moreover, in order to achieve the above-mentioned object, the decoration forming method according to the present invention includes a base layer having a first appearance, and a pattern layer having a second appearance different from the first appearance. and a clear layer deposited on the pattern layer, further comprising a modified area that forms a modified area on the surface of the base layer that is slightly larger than the range of the pattern constituting the pattern layer. a pattern layer forming step of forming the pattern layer with the modified region exposed outside the outline of the pattern; and a masking step of masking the base layer other than the exposed modified region. , a clear layer forming step of forming the clear layer on the masked surface.
According to the above-described decoration forming method, by applying the pattern layer and the clear layer to the modified area, it is possible to improve the adhesion of these layers and to make the texture of the first appearance and the second appearance the same. This will not happen and the appearance will be improved.
According to the present invention, it is possible to obtain a tubular body having an improved appearance and a decoration with good environmental resistance and adhesion, and furthermore, it is possible to obtain such a decoration.
Hereinafter, a tubular body according to the present invention will be explained with reference to the accompanying drawings.
In this embodiment, a shaft used in a golf club will be described as an example of the tubular body. As described above, an object of the present invention is to provide a decorative portion that is difficult to peel off when forming a decoration on the surface of a tubular body, has excellent environmental resistance, and improves the appearance. In general, shafts for golf clubs have the characteristics of being easy to bend and transmitting vibrations when hitting a ball, but by using the decoration forming method described below, it is possible to create a shaft with these characteristics. Also, a structure is obtained in which the decorative portion is difficult to peel off, has excellent environmental resistance, and has an improved appearance.
FIG. 1 shows an example of a wood-type golf club 1, in which a head 5 is attached to the distal end side of a
As is well known, the
A plurality of the main body sheets and reinforcing sheets may be present, and the number of windings, the type and orientation of the reinforcing fibers, the amount of resin impregnated, etc. are not limited. Further, in addition to the above-mentioned sheets, a prepreg sheet that is wound within a certain length range in the axial direction or a prepreg sheet that is not wound around the entire circumference (360°) may be included.
The
Hereinafter, the structure of the
First, the entire surface of the tubular body (also referred to as a base material) formed as described above is subjected to a coating process (step S1 in FIG. 3(a) and FIG. 6). The
Note that the
Next, a surface modification region 23 is formed on the
Here, the slightly larger range is sufficient as long as the effect of improving the adhesion of the logo and clear layer forming the pattern is achieved and the appearance is not deteriorated, as will be described in detail below.
The modified region 23 can be formed by, for example, using a laser engraving machine or the like and irradiating a region into which data has been input in advance with a laser beam. In the modified region 23 formed using a laser engraving machine, the surface of the
In this case, the unevenness 23a on the bottom surface may be formed to such an extent that the logo and the clear layer have good adhesion (adhesiveness) and are difficult to peel off. Specifically, the maximum roughness height (Ry) is set to less than half the thickness of the coating film of the
As described above, the modified region 23 is formed in an area slightly larger than the pattern (outline of the logo) formed therein. For example, the
It is preferable that the exposure width W is as small as possible; however, if it is too small, it will be difficult to attach the logo while leaving the outer edge 23b around, and if it is too large, it will be difficult to attach the logo ( The outer frame) may be too visible and the appearance of the pattern may deteriorate. In reality, in consideration of workability and appearance, the thickness may be in the range of 0.1 to 0.5 mm, and more preferably in the range of 0.2 to 0.3 mm.
In addition, in this embodiment, the modified region 23 is formed that is slightly larger than the outline of the logo (Roman letter F) that makes up the pattern. 15A, numeral 15B, and figure 15C, or these characters may be integrated to form a seal, and the outer edge of the modified region may be exposed outside the outline of the seal. It may be formed. The outer edge 23b of the modified region 23 is preferably exposed evenly around the outline of the logo, but the exposure width may vary depending on the position, or there may be a portion that is not exposed. good.
Next, a pattern (pattern layer) forming process that provides a second appearance is performed on the
The logo (pattern) 15 can be formed by, for example, pasting a mirror logo sticker, glossy transfer such as pad printing, thermal transfer, water transfer, or inkjet printing.
Further, when providing a pattern on the modified region 23, as described above, the outer edge portion 23b of the modified region 23 outside the outline of each
Next, the
Next, a
Then, the
The
Furthermore, as shown in FIGS. 4(b) and 4(e), the

Regarding the
Here, in Comparative Example 1, similar to the present embodiment, the
Evaluation was performed on each item in four stages (◎, 〇, △, ×). In this case, regarding the design, five evaluators evaluated the appearance of the logo part of the three shafts on a four-point scale from 1 to 4 points, with 18 points or more being ◎, 15 points or more being ○, and 12 points being 1 point or more. A score of 11 points or more was evaluated as △, and a score of 11 points or less was evaluated as ×. In addition, the adhesion of the logo was evaluated by a tape adhesion test according to the cross-cut method (JIS K 5600-5-6) specified by the JIS standard, and the ease of peeling was evaluated. In addition, regarding the color fastness of the logo, an accelerated deterioration test using a weather resistance tester was conducted to evaluate discoloration and visual defects, and the degree of color change was evaluated. In addition, the scratch resistance of the logo was evaluated using a linear abrasion tester 5750 manufactured by TABER, and the scratches on the surface were evaluated.
As is clear from the evaluation results of Comparative Example 2 and this embodiment described above, by providing a clear layer on the surface, good results can be obtained in terms of logo adhesion, logo color fastness, and logo scratch resistance. However, in the configuration of Comparative Example 2 in which the clear layer covered the base layer in addition to the logo, the design was inferior. This is because the texture of the logo part and the base layer part are almost the same, making the boundary vague. Furthermore, as in the present embodiment, by coating the

After the
Even with such a decoration forming method, effects similar to those of the above-described embodiment can be obtained. In addition, the
