Abstract
Description
The present disclosure relates to an overvoltage protection circuit provided accompanying an electronic circuit that is a circuit of an electrical device.
Consumer appliances, which are common electric appliances, are connected to commercial power sources. Consumer appliances configure a low-voltage power supply circuit with power obtained from a commercial power supply, or drive an electric motor with power obtained from a commercial power supply. Consumer appliances include electrical appliances rated for single-phase AC 100V and electrical appliances rated for single-phase AC 200V. Electrical equipment that consumes a large amount of power is often rated for single-phase AC 200V in order to suppress current flow. Therefore, even among electrical devices of the same category, electrical devices with a rated voltage of 100V and electrical devices with a rated voltage of 200V may coexist.
Due to the equipment circumstances described above, power supply wiring has been constructed to receive power from both 100V rated electrical equipment and 200V rated electrical equipment, even in the same house and building. there is As a result, a single-phase AC 100V power supply wiring and a single-phase AC 200V power supply wiring may be mistakenly wired at the time of wiring work for electrical equipment.
A 100V rated electrical device is designed to withstand the use of a single-phase AC 100V voltage. However, when a single-phase AC voltage of 200 V is applied to an electrical device with a rated voltage of 100 V, the electrical device may be damaged because the electronic components may exceed their tolerance. In addition, depending on the state of damage, the electronic components may emit smoke or catch fire, which may threaten the safety of the electrical equipment.
Under the technical background as described above, Patent Document 1 below discloses that a current fuse is inserted into one of two power lines connecting a commercial power supply and an electrical device, and two power lines on the input side of the electrical device. A configuration is disclosed in which a surge voltage absorbing varistor is connected therebetween. With this configuration, even if a single-phase AC 200V power supply wiring is mistakenly connected to an electrical device with a rated voltage of 100V, the current flowing through the varistor will blow the current fuse, thereby preventing misuse of the voltage. It is stated that it is possible to prevent damage to electrical equipment that
Referring to FIG. 1 of Patent Literature 1, the current fuse is connected to a path through which all currents flowing into the electrical equipment pass. For this reason, if the electrical equipment connected to the current fuse is designed to allow a steady flow of large current, it is necessary to use a current fuse rated not to be blown by the current. On the other hand, in this configuration, when a single-phase AC voltage of 200 V is erroneously applied, the resistance of the varistor decreases and a large current flows. The loss increases, and the varistor may fail and become open. In this case, since the current fuse is not blown, the electrical equipment remains applied with a single-phase AC voltage of 200V. It is no exaggeration to say that this state threatens the safety of electrical equipment. Therefore, the circuit configuration shown in FIG. 1 of Patent Document 1 is weak as a protection circuit for electrical equipment.
In addition, if the varistor has an open circuit failure due to the erroneous application of a single-phase 200 V AC voltage, a voltage that exceeds the voltage that should be applied is applied to the electrical equipment connected to the subsequent stage. For this reason, even if the failure state does not occur immediately, the stress exceeding the proof stress continues to be applied to the parts of the electrical equipment. Therefore, even if the applied voltage is restored to the rated value after noticing the erroneous application, the accumulation of stress will progress the deterioration of the parts, and the progress of deterioration cannot be predicted. .
The present disclosure has been made in view of the above, and an object of the present disclosure is to obtain an overvoltage protection circuit that can reliably protect electrical equipment by accurately coping with overvoltage caused by erroneous connection of a commercial power supply.
In order to solve the above-described problems and achieve the object, the overvoltage protection circuit according to the present disclosure is an overvoltage protection circuit provided accompanying an electronic circuit that is a circuit of an electric device, and includes a first current interrupting component and , a surge control component, a second current interrupt component, a current limiting resistor, and a bypass component. A first current interrupting component is inserted into one of two power lines connecting a commercial power supply and an electronic circuit, and interrupts an abnormal current that flows when the electronic circuit fails or malfunctions. The surge control component is connected in parallel with the electronic circuit between the commercial power supply and the electronic circuit to suppress surge voltages that may be applied to the electronic circuit. The second current interrupting component is inserted into the other power line of the two power lines, and protects the circuit by interrupting the short-circuit current flowing through the surge control component when the surge control component is short-circuited. A current limiting resistor suppresses an inrush current that can flow immediately after turning on the commercial power supply. The bypass component bypasses the current path through the current limiting resistor after suppressing the inrush current. One end of the surge control component is connected to one power line, and the other end of the surge control component is connected to a connection point between the second current interrupting component and the current limiting resistor. A bypass component is connected across the series circuit of the second current interrupting component and the current limiting resistor.
According to the overvoltage protection circuit according to the present disclosure, there is an effect that it is possible to reliably protect electrical equipment by appropriately coping with overvoltage caused by improper connection of the commercial power supply.
An overvoltage protection circuit according to an embodiment of the present disclosure will be described in detail below with reference to the accompanying drawings. In the following description, electrical connections and physical connections are simply referred to as "connections" without distinguishing between them. That is, the term "connection" in this paper includes both cases in which components are directly connected to each other and cases in which components are indirectly connected to each other via other components.
Embodiment 1.
FIG. 1 is a diagram showing the circuit configuration of an
The
The
The
The
Next, operation of the
It should be noted that the current limiting
Also, when a single-phase AC voltage of 200 V is erroneously applied due to the connection of the
The closing operation of the
Note that there are restrictions on the connection position of the
In FIG. 4, the same reference numerals are assigned to the same or equivalent components as in FIG. The difference from FIG. 1 is that the
In the case of the configuration shown in FIG. 4, the inrush current 51 that may flow immediately after the commercial power source 1 is turned on can be appropriately dealt with in the same manner as the configuration shown in FIG. On the other hand, in the case of the configuration shown in FIG. 4, the
As described above, the overvoltage protection circuit according to Embodiment 1 includes first and second current interrupting components, surge control components, current limiting resistors, and bypass components. One end of the surge control component is connected to one power supply line, and the other end of the surge control component is connected to a connection point between the second current interrupting component and the current limiting resistor. According to the overvoltage protection circuit configured as described above, it is possible to reliably protect electrical equipment by appropriately coping with overvoltage caused by improper connection of the commercial power supply.
In the above configuration, the bypass component is preferably connected across the series circuit of the second current interrupting component and the current limiting resistor. With this configuration, the operating current during normal operation can be prevented from flowing through the current limiting resistor. As a result, the occurrence of unnecessary loss can be suppressed, and the
Note that the overvoltage protection circuit according to the first embodiment may be configured as shown in FIG. FIG. 5 is a diagram showing a circuit configuration of an

FIG. 6 is a diagram showing the circuit configuration of an
Next, operation of the
In the case of the configuration shown in FIG. 1, the current limiting
Note that the
As described above, according to the overvoltage protection circuit according to the second embodiment, the thermal fuse is incorporated in the current limiting resistor in the configuration of the first embodiment. This makes it possible to reliably protect the electronic circuit even during normal operation.
