Abstract
Description
The present invention relates to a method and system for recovering pulp fibers from used absorbent articles.
Methods are known for recovering pulp fibers from absorbent articles such as used disposable diapers. In this method, when processing used absorbent articles, it is important to reduce costs by improving the recovery rate of pulp fibers and processing efficiency, and to improve hygiene management by reducing scattering of dirt on disposable diapers. Therefore, in some cases, a collection bag containing a plurality of used absorbent articles is disposed of as it is. By disposing of the collection bag as it is, the work of removing the used absorbent articles from the collection bag can be reduced (improvement of processing efficiency), and dirt and fungi adhering to the used absorbent article are less likely to come into contact with the operator. (improved hygiene management).
As such a method, for example, Non-Patent
The device of Non-Patent
An object of the present invention is to enable sanitary and safe shredding of used absorbent articles while reducing costs when recovering pulp fibers from used absorbent articles placed in collection bags. The object is to provide a method and system.
A method for recovering pulp fibers from used absorbent articles containing pulp fibers and superabsorbent polymers in the present invention is as follows. (1) A method for recovering pulp fibers from used absorbent articles containing pulp fibers and superabsorbent polymers, comprising a receiving step of placing a collection bag enclosing the used absorbent articles in a container, and communicating with the container. a crushing step of transferring the collection bag in the container to the crushing device, and crushing the used absorbent article in the collection bag together with the collection bag in an inactivated aqueous solution by the crushing device; and a separation step of separating the pulp fibers, the superabsorbent polymer and the inactivated aqueous solution from the crushed material obtained in the crushing step and the inactivated aqueous solution using a separation device.
In this method, at least after receiving the collection bag in the container, while transferring the collection bag to a crushing device provided separately from the container, in the crushing device, the used absorbent in the collection bag is The used absorbent article is shredded together with the collection bag while the superabsorbent polymer of the article is inactivated. That is, when used absorbent articles are shredded, they are shredded in an inactivated aqueous solution in a shredder separate from the container, and after shredding, the inactivated aqueous solution and shredded materials are transferred to a separation device. Therefore, even if the inactivated aqueous solution is mixed with dirt or fungi or gives off an odor, the inactivated aqueous solution and crushed materials containing dirt and fungi hardly reach the container. Therefore, it can be crushed while leaving little dirt or fungi on the container. In addition, since the odor can be sealed with the inactivating aqueous solution, the generation of odor can be suppressed to a low level. In particular, when crushing is performed in an inactivated aqueous solution, alkaline volatile components derived from excrement such as urine do not volatilize and remain in the inactivated aqueous solution, so it is possible to suppress the generation of odors due to alkaline gases such as ammonia. can. As a result, when the used absorbent article is crushed, it is possible to suppress the scattering of dirt and fungi and the release of the odor associated with the dirt. That is, the used absorbent article can be hygienically and safely crushed, and the cost of sanitary control in work and maintenance can be suppressed.
(2) The receiving step includes a perforating step in which the collecting bag is placed in a solution tank as the container in which the inactivating aqueous solution is stored, and a hole is formed in the surface of the collecting bag that is in contact with the inactivating aqueous solution. In the crushing step, the used collection bag in the collection bag is moved from the solution bath to the crusher together with the inactivated aqueous solution, and the collected bag that has been sunk under the water surface of the inactivated aqueous solution with the holes is opened. The method according to (1) above may include a step of crushing the absorbent article together with the collection bag in the inactivating aqueous solution.
In this method, at least, holes are made in the collection bag, and the inactivating aqueous solution is introduced into the collecting bag through the holes to deactivate the superabsorbent polymer contained in the used absorbent article with the inactivating aqueous solution. Together, the collection bag is substantially submerged in the aqueous inactivating solution. As a result, the used absorbent article can be shredded together with the collection bag in the inactivated aqueous solution while the collection bag submerged under the surface of the inactivated aqueous solution is transferred from the solution tank together with the inactivated aqueous solution. Therefore, the inactivated aqueous solution is hardly contaminated with dirt or fungi, or has an odor until crushing is started. When the used absorbent article is crushed, even if the deactivating aqueous solution is mixed with dirt or fungi or gives off an odor, the deactivating aqueous solution mixed with dirt or fungi will be crushed almost simultaneously with the crushing. Since it is delivered from the solution bath together with it, it can be flushed away with little dirt or fungus left in the solution bath. In addition, since the odor can be sealed with the inactivating aqueous solution, the generation of odor can be suppressed to a low level. As a result, when the used absorbent article is crushed, it is possible to suppress the scattering of dirt and fungi and the release of the odor associated with the dirt.
In the present method, (3) the step of making holes in the collection bag in the perforating step and the step of crushing the used absorbent article together with the collection bag in the crushing step are performed at different positions. , the method described in (2) above.
In this method, the step of making holes in the collection bag and the step of crushing the used absorbent article together with the collection bag are performed at different (separate) locations (positions). Therefore, the aqueous inactivating solution can be introduced into the collecting bag through the holes, ensuring that the collecting bag is submerged below the surface of the aqueous inactivating solution, before crushing can take place elsewhere. Therefore, when crushing, part of the collection bag is exposed above the water surface of the inactivating aqueous solution, and the openings (cracks) of the holes are exposed above the water surface of the inactivating aqueous solution. It is possible to suppress the situation in which the stain is scattered and the odor associated with the stain is released.
(4) the crushing step includes a submerged crushing step of crushing the used absorbent article in the collection bag together with the collection bag in the inactivated aqueous solution supplied together with the collection bag; and a drawing step of drawing out the crushed material obtained in the submerged crushing step from the submerged crushing step together with the inactivated aqueous solution. .
In this method, the mixture of the crushed material and the inactivating aqueous solution is actively withdrawn from the submerged crushing process, and as the mixture moves, dirt on the equipment involved in the submerged crushing process is removed by the inactivating aqueous solution. leave). Accordingly, good sanitary conditions can be maintained in the crushing process.
(5) In the perforating step, the perforating step of perforating the surface of the collection bag that is in contact with the inactivated aqueous solution includes a projection capable of moving up and down in the solution bath while rotating around a rotating shaft. The method according to any one of (2) to (4) above, which is executed in
In this method, the collecting bag is punctured by a projection that moves up and down in a solution bath while rotating about an axis of rotation. Therefore, even if the collecting bag is not submerged in the inactivating aqueous solution, the collecting bag can be punctured, for example, by moving the protrusion to the top of the volumetric bath and contacting the collecting bag. Since the collecting bag is submerged in the inactivating aqueous solution after the holes are made, the collecting bag can be reliably submerged in the acidic solution in a short period of time, reducing processing time and increasing processing efficiency.
(6) In the perforating step, the step of perforating the surface of the collection bag in contact with the inactivated aqueous solution includes sending the collection bag into the inactivated aqueous solution from above the solution bath, The method according to any one of (2) to (4) above may be performed by contacting a projection that is arranged at the bottom of the solution bath and rotates around a rotation axis.
In this method, the collection bag is fed into an aqueous inactivating solution, and a projection at the bottom of the bath of solution punctures the collection bag. Since the collecting bag is submerged in the inactivating aqueous solution before being perforated, it is possible to reliably prevent dirt and odor from diffusing to the outside from the used absorbent articles in the collecting bag. Thereby, the used absorbent article can be hygienically and safely crushed.
(7) In the crushing step, the used absorbent article in the collection bag is removed together with the collection bag while supplying the collection bag into the inactivated aqueous solution in the crusher. The method according to (1) above, which includes the step of crushing in an inactivating aqueous solution, may also be used.
In this method, an inactivating aqueous solution is stored in advance in a crusher, and the used absorbent articles in the collecting bag are crushed together with the collecting bag in the inert aqueous solution. Therefore, it is possible to reliably crush the used absorbent articles in the collection bag together with the collection bag in the deactivating aqueous solution.
(8) The separation step includes a step of directly receiving the crushed material and the inactivated aqueous solution in the separation device arranged immediately below the crushing device (1) or (7) above. The method described in .
In this method, since the separation device is arranged directly below the crushing device, the crushed material crushed by the crushing device and the inactivated aqueous solution can be quickly and reliably transferred to the separation device. As a result, even if the inactivating aqueous solution is mixed with dirt or fungi, or produces an odor, the effects of these can be suppressed to a lower level.
(9) The crushing step includes crushing the used absorbent article together with the collection bag so that the average size of the crushed items is 50 mm or more and 100 mm or less. The method according to any one of (1) to (8) may be used.
In this method, in the crushing step, the crushed material is crushed so that the average size of the crushed material is 50 mm or more and 100 mm or less by adjusting the crushing device. However, the size of the crushed object is defined as the length of the long side in the case of a rectangular shape, the diameter in the case of a circle, and the length of the side of a square corresponding to the area in the case of an irregular shape. In that case, since the backsheet and/or the topsheet of each used absorbent article can be surely scored, pulp fibers can be taken out from the slits in each used absorbent article almost completely. As a result, the recovery rate of pulp fibers (total amount of recycled pulp fibers/total amount of pulp fibers in used absorbent articles to be supplied) and the recovery rate of superabsorbent polymer can be increased. However, if the average size is less than 50 mm, materials other than pulp fibers and superabsorbent polymers (examples: film (back sheet, etc.), nonwoven fabric (top sheet, etc.), elastic body (rubber for leakproof wall) etc.)) are cut too small, making it difficult to separate them from pulp fibers and superabsorbent polymers. As a result, the recycled pulp fibers and other materials mixed with the superabsorbent polymer increase, and the recovery rate of the pulp fibers and superabsorbent polymer decreases. On the other hand, when the average size is larger than 100 mm, it becomes difficult to cut the used absorbent article. As a result, there are used absorbent articles from which the pulp fibers and the superabsorbent polymer cannot be taken out, and the recovery rate of the pulp fibers and the superabsorbent polymer decreases.
(10) The step of crushing the used absorbent article together with the collection bag in the inactivated aqueous solution in the crushing step is performed by a twin-screw crusher, (1) to ( The method according to any one of 9) may be used.
In this method, the step of crushing the used absorbent article is carried out using a twin-screw crusher (example: twin-screw rotary crusher, twin-screw differential crusher, twin-screw crusher). there is Therefore, the sizes of the crushed objects can be made generally within a predetermined range. As a result, the crushed material becomes too small and foreign matter is mixed with the pulp fibers, and the crushed material becomes too large, resulting in used absorbent articles from which the pulp fibers cannot be taken out, resulting in a decrease in the pulp fiber recovery rate. It is possible to suppress the situation that it is lowered.
(11) The method according to any one of (1) to (10) above, wherein the inactivating aqueous solution is an acidic aqueous solution.
In this method, since the inactivating aqueous solution is an acidic aqueous solution, the superabsorbent polymer in the used absorbent article can be reliably dehydrated and inactivated. In particular, when crushing is performed in an acidic aqueous solution, alkaline volatile components derived from excrements such as urine do not volatilize and remain in the acidic aqueous solution, so the generation of odors due to alkaline gases such as ammonia can be suppressed. As a result, in the crushing step, the used absorbent article does not swell greatly, and can be easily crushed, thereby improving processing efficiency.
This method may be (12) the method according to (11) above, wherein the acidic aqueous solution contains citric acid.
In this method, since the acidic aqueous solution contains citric acid (example: concentration of 0.5 to 2.0% by mass), the superabsorbent polymer in the used absorbent article can be dehydrated and inactivated, and the acid There is almost no adverse effect on workers due to acid, and corrosion of equipment in each process due to acid can be suppressed.

The system used to recover pulp fibers from used absorbent articles containing pulp fibers and superabsorbent polymers in the present invention is as follows. (13) A system used in a method for recovering pulp fibers from used absorbent articles containing pulp fibers and superabsorbent polymers, comprising: a container containing a collection bag enclosing the used absorbent articles; and said container a crushing device for crushing the used absorbent article in the collection bag together with the collection bag in an inactivated aqueous solution while the collection bag in the container is being transferred; and a separation device for separating the pulp fibers, the superabsorbent polymer and the inactivated aqueous solution from the resulting crushed material and the inactivated aqueous solution.
In this system, at least after receiving the collection bag in the container, while transferring the collection bag to a crushing device provided separately from the container, in the crushing device, the used absorbent in the collection bag is The used absorbent article is shredded together with the collection bag while the superabsorbent polymer of the article is inactivated. That is, the used absorbent article can be hygienically and safely crushed, and the cost of sanitary control in work and maintenance can be suppressed.
In the present system, (14) a solution tank as the container for storing the inactivating aqueous solution, and a solution tank provided in the solution tank so that when the collection bag is placed in the solution tank, the inactivating aqueous solution in the collection bag a perforator for perforating a surface in contact with the inactivating aqueous solution, wherein the crushing device removes the collection bag that has been perforated and is submerged under the surface of the inactivating aqueous solution. The system according to (13) above, wherein the used absorbent article in the collection bag is crushed together with the collection bag in the inactivated aqueous solution while being transferred from the solution tank to the crushing device together with good.
In this system, at least, holes are made in the collection bag, and the inactivating aqueous solution is introduced into the collecting bag through the holes to inactivate the superabsorbent polymer contained in the used absorbent article with the inactivating aqueous solution.
(15) The system according to (14) above, wherein the bag-breaking device and the crushing device are devices different from each other.
In this system, the bag breaking device for punching holes in the collection bag and the crushing device for crushing the used absorbent articles together with the collection bag are different devices. Therefore, the opening of the holes and the crushing of the used absorbent article can be reliably performed at different locations (positions). After ensuring submersion under water, crushing can take place at another location. Therefore, at the time of crushing, part of the collection bag is exposed above the water surface of the inactivating aqueous solution, and the openings (cracks) of the holes are exposed above the water surface of the inactivating aqueous solution. It is possible to prevent the scattering of dust and the release of odors associated with the stain.
(16) the crushing unit crushes the used absorbent article in the collection bag together with the collection bag in the inactivated aqueous solution supplied together with the collection bag; The system according to (14) or (15) above may also include a pump for pulling out the crushed material obtained in the crushing unit from the crushing unit together with the inactivating aqueous solution.
In this system, the mixture of the crushed material and the inactivating aqueous solution is actively pulled out from the crushing part by a pump, so that the dirt in the crushing part can be removed (washed away) by the inactivating aqueous solution as the mixture moves. . Accordingly, good sanitary conditions can be maintained in the crusher.
(17) In the bag-breaking device, the hole punching part includes a projection that can move up and down in the solution tank while rotating around a rotation axis (14) to (16). A system according to any one of the paragraphs.
In this system, a projection that moves up and down in a solution bath while rotating around a rotating shaft punctures a collection bag.
(18) In the bag-breaking device, the perforating section includes a feeding section that feeds the collecting bag into the inactivated aqueous solution from above the solution tank, and a feeding section that is arranged below the solution tank and rotates. a projection that rotates about an axis to puncture the collection bag.
In this system, the collection bag is punctured by a protrusion at the bottom of the solution bath that feeds the collection bag into the aqueous inerting solution. Since the collecting bag is submerged in the inactivating aqueous solution before being perforated, it is possible to reliably prevent dirt and odor from diffusing to the outside from the used absorbent articles in the collecting bag. Thereby, the used absorbent article can be hygienically and safely crushed.
(19) The crushing device crushes the used absorbent article in the collection bag together with the collection bag while the collection bag is being supplied into the inactivating aqueous solution in the crusher. The system according to (13) above, which is crushed in an inactivating aqueous solution, may also be used.
In this system, an inactivating aqueous solution is stored in advance in the crusher, and the used absorbent articles in the collection bag are crushed together with the collecting bag in the inert aqueous solution. Therefore, the used absorbent article in the collection bag can be surely crushed together with the collection bag in the deactivating aqueous solution.
(20) The separation device is arranged directly below the crushing device, and directly receives the crushed material and the inactivated aqueous solution from the crushing device, according to (13) or (19) above. system.
In this system, since the separation device is arranged directly below the crushing device, the crushed material crushed by the crushing device and the inactivated aqueous solution can be quickly and reliably transferred to the separation device. As a result, even if the inactivating aqueous solution is mixed with dirt or fungi, or produces an odor, the effects of these can be suppressed to a lower level.
(21) The crushing device crushes the used absorbent article together with the collection bag so that the crushed items have an average size of 50 mm or more and 100 mm or less, (13) The system according to any one of (20) to (20).
In this system, by adjusting the crushing device, crushed objects are crushed so that the average size of crushed objects is 50 mm or more and 100 mm or less. However, when the shape of the crushed object is rectangular, the size of the crushed object is the length of the long side, etc., as described above. In that case, since the backsheet and/or the topsheet of each used absorbent article can be surely scored, pulp fibers can be taken out from the slits in each used absorbent article almost completely. As a result, the recovery rate of pulp fibers and the recovery rate of superabsorbent polymer can be increased. However, if the average size is less than 50 mm, materials other than the pulp fibers and the superabsorbent polymer are cut too small, making it difficult to separate them from the pulp fibers and the superabsorbent polymer.
(22) The system according to any one of (13) to (21) above, wherein the crusher includes a twin-screw crusher.
In this system, a twin-screw crusher (examples: twin-screw rotary crusher, twin-screw differential crusher, twin-screw shear crusher) is used as a crusher for used absorbent articles. Therefore, the sizes of the crushed objects can be made generally within a predetermined range.
(23) The system according to any one of (13) to (22) above, wherein the inactivating aqueous solution is an acidic aqueous solution.
In this system, since the inactivating aqueous solution is an acidic aqueous solution, it is possible to reliably dehydrate and inactivate the superabsorbent polymer in the used absorbent article.
(24) The system according to (23) above, wherein the acidic aqueous solution contains citric acid.
In this system, since the acidic aqueous solution contains citric acid (example: concentration of 0.5 to 2.0% by mass), the superabsorbent polymer in the used absorbent article can be dehydrated and inactivated, and the acid There is almost no adverse effect on workers due to acid, and corrosion of equipment in each process due to acid can be suppressed.
According to the method and system of the present invention, when recovering pulp fibers from used absorbent articles placed in a collection bag, the used absorbent articles are hygienically and safely shredded while controlling costs. becomes possible.
Hereinafter, a method for recovering pulp fibers from used absorbent articles containing pulp fibers and superabsorbent polymers according to the embodiment will be described. However, the used absorbent article is an absorbent article that has been used by the user and includes absorbent articles that have absorbed and retained the user's excrement. Including items not retained and unused but discarded. Examples of absorbent articles include disposable diapers, incontinence pads, sanitary napkins, bed sheets, and pet sheets. Note that the method of recovering pulp fibers from used absorbent articles according to the present embodiment produces recycled pulp fibers, so it can also be said to be a method of producing recycled pulp fibers from used absorbent articles. Furthermore, in the method of recovering pulp fibers from used absorbent articles according to the present embodiment, the superabsorbent polymer is recovered along with the pulp fibers on the way, and the recycled superabsorbent polymer is produced by separation, so that the used absorbent article can be recycled. It can also be said to be a method of recovering superabsorbent polymer from absorbent articles or a method of producing recycled superabsorbent polymer. Here, a method for recovering pulp fibers from used absorbent articles will be described.
(First embodiment)
A first embodiment will be described.
First, a configuration example of an absorbent article will be described. The absorbent article comprises a topsheet, a backsheet, and an absorbent body disposed between the topsheet and the backsheet. An example of the size of the absorbent article is about 15-100 cm in length and 5-100 cm in width. Note that the absorbent article may further include other members that general absorbent articles have, such as diffusion sheets and leakage prevention walls.
Constituent members of the topsheet include, for example, a liquid-permeable nonwoven fabric, a synthetic resin film having liquid-permeable pores, a composite sheet thereof, and the like. Examples of constituent members of the backsheet include liquid-impermeable nonwoven fabrics, liquid-impermeable synthetic resin films, and composite sheets thereof. Examples of constituent members of the diffusion sheet include liquid-permeable nonwoven fabrics. A constituent member of the leak-proof wall is, for example, liquid-impermeable non-woven fabric, and may include an elastic member such as rubber. Here, the material for the nonwoven fabric or synthetic resin film is not particularly limited as long as it can be used as an absorbent article. and polyester resins such as polyethylene terephthalate (PET) and polybutylene terephthalate (PBT). In the present embodiment, an absorbent article having a film as a constituent member of the back sheet and a non-woven fabric as a constituent member of the top sheet will be described as an example.
Absorbent components include absorbent material, ie, pulp fibers and superabsorbent polymers. The pulp fibers are not particularly limited as long as they can be used as absorbent articles, and examples thereof include cellulosic fibers. Examples of cellulosic fibers include wood pulp, crosslinked pulp, non-wood pulp, regenerated cellulose, semi-synthetic cellulose, and the like. As for the size of the pulp fibers, the average long diameter of the fibers is, for example, several tens of μm, preferably 20 to 40 μm, and the average fiber length is, for example, several millimeters, preferably 2 to 5 mm. The super absorbent polymer (SAP) is not particularly limited as long as it can be used as an absorbent article. mentioned. As for the size of the superabsorbent polymer (dry), the average particle size is, for example, several hundred μm, preferably 200 to 500 μm.
One side and the other side of the absorbent body are respectively bonded to the topsheet and the backsheet via an adhesive. In a plan view, the portion (peripheral portion) of the topsheet that extends outside the absorber so as to surround the absorber is the portion of the backsheet that extends outside the absorber so as to surround the absorber. It is joined to the extended portion (peripheral portion) via an adhesive. Therefore, the absorbent body is wrapped inside the joined body of the top sheet and the back sheet. The adhesive is not particularly limited as long as it can be used as an absorbent article and is softened by hot water, which will be described later, to lower the bonding strength. Examples include hot-melt adhesives. Hot-melt adhesives include, for example, rubber-based pressure-sensitive adhesives such as styrene-ethylene-butadiene-styrene, styrene-butadiene-styrene, and styrene-isoprene-styrene, or olefin-based pressure-sensitive or heat-sensitive adhesives such as polyethylene. agents.
Next, a method for recovering pulp fibers from used absorbent articles containing pulp fibers and superabsorbent polymers according to the embodiment will be described. In the present embodiment, used absorbent articles are collected and acquired from the outside for reuse (recycling). At that time, multiple used absorbent articles are enclosed in collection bags (hereinafter also referred to as "collection bags") so that dirt (excretion, etc.), fungi and odors do not leak to the outside. ing. Each used absorbent article in the collection bag is mainly rolled up with the surface sheet on which excrement is excreted inside so that the excrement is not exposed on the front side and the odor is not diffused to the surroundings. It is collected in a folded state or in a folded state.

First, the

When ozone is used as the oxidizing agent, the oxidizing agent processing apparatus includes, for example, a processing tank and an ozone supply device. The processing tank stores an acidic aqueous solution as a processing liquid. The ozone supply device supplies an ozone-containing gas, which is a gaseous substance, to the treatment tank. Examples of the ozone generator of the ozone supply device include ozone water exposure tester ED-OWX-2 manufactured by Ecodesign Co., Ltd. and ozone generator OS-25V manufactured by Mitsubishi Electric Corporation. The nozzle of the ozone supply device is arranged in the lower part of the processing bath and has, for example, a tubular or flat shape. The nozzle supplies the ozone-containing gas Z as a plurality of fine bubbles into the processing liquid. As the treatment liquid, an acidic aqueous solution is preferable from the viewpoint of suppressing deactivation of ozone and deactivating the superabsorbent polymer, and an organic acid is preferable from the viewpoint of reducing the influence of the acid on workers and equipment. Citric acid is preferred from the viewpoint of removal of

Next, a method for recovering pulp fibers from used absorbent articles will be described. This method is a method of recovering pulp fibers (preferably additionally superabsorbent polymer) from used absorbent articles, thus producing recycled pulp fibers (preferably additionally recycled superabsorbent polymer). FIG. 6 is a flow chart showing an example of a method according to this embodiment. This method comprises a hole making step S11 and a crushing step S12, preferably a first separating step S13, a first dust removing step S14, a second dust removing step S15, a third dust removing step S16, and a third dust removing step S16. It includes a second separation step S17, a third separation step S18, an oxidizing agent treatment step S19, and a fourth separation step S20. A detailed description will be given below.
The hole punching step S11 is performed by the
The superabsorbent polymer in the used absorbent article is inactivated and its water absorption capacity is reduced, so that the superabsorbent polymer is dehydrated and the particle size is reduced, making it easier to handle in each subsequent process. and improve processing efficiency. The reason why an acidic aqueous solution, that is, an aqueous solution of an inorganic acid or an organic acid is used as the inactivating aqueous solution is that ash does not remain in the pulp fiber compared to aqueous solutions such as lime and calcium chloride, and the degree of inactivation ( This is because the particle size and specific gravity) can be easily adjusted by pH. The pH of the acidic aqueous solution is preferably 1.0 or more and 4.0 or less, more preferably 1.2 or more and 2.5 or less. If the pH is too high, the water absorption capacity of the superabsorbent polymer cannot be reduced sufficiently. Moreover, there is also a possibility that the sterilization ability may be lowered. If the pH is too low, the equipment may be corroded, and a large amount of alkaline chemicals will be required for neutralization during wastewater treatment. In particular, in order to separate the pulp fibers and superabsorbent polymer from other materials, it is preferable that the size and specific gravity of the pulp fibers and the superabsorbent polymer are relatively close to each other. Therefore, by setting the pH of the acidic aqueous solution to 1.0 or more and 4.0 or less, the superabsorbent polymer can be made smaller by inactivation, thereby improving the size and specific gravity of the pulp fiber and the superabsorbency The polymer sizes and specific gravities can be relatively close to each other. Examples of organic acids include citric acid, tartaric acid, glycolic acid, malic acid, succinic acid, acetic acid, ascorbic acid, and the like, and hydroxycarbonate organic acids such as citric acid, tartaric acid, gluconic acid, and the like are particularly preferred. . Due to the chelating effect of citric acid, metal ions and the like in excrement can be trapped and removed, and the cleaning effect of citric acid is expected to be highly effective in removing dirt components. On the other hand, inorganic acids include, for example, sulfuric acid, hydrochloric acid, and nitric acid. Sulfuric acid is preferable from the viewpoints of chlorine-free and cost. Since the pH changes depending on the water temperature, the pH in the present invention refers to the pH measured at an aqueous solution temperature of 20°C. The organic acid concentration of the organic acid aqueous solution is not particularly limited, but when the organic acid is citric acid, it is preferably 0.5% by mass or more and 4% by mass or less. The inorganic acid concentration of the inorganic acid aqueous solution is not particularly limited, but when the inorganic acid is sulfuric acid, it is preferably 0.1% by mass or more and 0.5% by mass or less.

Here, in the crushing step S12, as will be described later, a step of crushing the used absorbent articles together with the collection bag A so that the average size of the crushed products is 50 mm or more and 100 mm or less. is preferred. In other words, the twin-screw crusher of the crushing
The absorbent article is envisioned to have a length of about 150-1000 mm and a width of 100-1000 mm. By crushing the crushed material so that the average size of the crushed material is 50 mm or more and 100 mm or less, the back sheet and/or the top sheet of each used absorbent article can be reliably cut. As a result, almost all pulp fibers can be taken out from the cuts in each used absorbent article, so the recovery rate of pulp fibers (total amount of recycled pulp fibers / pulp fibers of the used absorbent article to be supplied) total amount) can be increased. If the average size is less than 50 mm, materials other than pulp fibers (example: film (material for collection bag A, back sheet, etc.), non-woven fabric (top sheet, etc.), elastic body (rubber for leak-proof wall, etc.) )) are cut too small, making it difficult to separate them from the pulp fibers in subsequent steps. As a result, the amount of foreign matter (other materials) mixed in the regenerated pulp fibers increases, and the recovery rate of the pulp fibers decreases. On the other hand, when the average size is larger than 100 mm, it becomes difficult to cut the used absorbent article. As a result, the size of the crushed material is large and bulky, and the amount (processed amount) of the crushed material (disposable diapers) that can be processed by the

This method (system) includes at least the hole making step S11 and the crushing step S12 in the crushing process (hole making step S11, crushing step S12, first separation step S13) for crushing the used absorbent article as described above. I have.
In addition, when the acidic aqueous solution is not used as the inactivating aqueous solution between the hole making step S11 and the first separation step S13, the acidic aqueous solution is added from the first dust removal step S14, and the pulp fibers supplied to the first dust removal step S14 and the inactivated aqueous solution containing the superabsorbent polymer is preferably substantially an acidic aqueous solution. In that case, the specific gravity and size of the superabsorbent polymer can be easily adjusted by pH.

The pH of the acidic aqueous solution may be adjusted so that the difference between the specific gravity and size of the superabsorbent polymer and the specific gravity and size of the pulp fibers is within a predetermined range at least before the first dust removal step S14. preferable. “Within a predetermined range” means, for example, that one is within a range of 0.2 to 5 times the other. In this case, the steps before the first dust removal step S14 are performed such that the difference between the specific gravity and size of the pulp fibers and the superabsorbent polymer, and the specific gravity and size of the pulp fibers is within a predetermined range. It can be regarded as an inactivation step in which the superabsorbent polymer is inactivated by mixing with an acidic aqueous solution whose pH is adjusted.
Further, the combined concentration of pulp fibers and superabsorbent polymer in the acidic solution in the first dust removal step S14 is, for example, 0.1% by mass or more and 10% by mass or less, and 0.1% by mass or more. , 5% by mass or less. Also, the ratio of the pulp fiber to the superabsorbent polymer in the acidic solution is, for example, 50-90% by mass:50-10% by mass.

The third dust removal step S16 is performed by the
本方法(システム)は、上記のように異物(他の資材)を除去する除塵処理(第1除塵工程S14(第1除塵装置14)~第3除塵工程S16(第3除塵装置16)にて、少なくとも第2除塵工程S15(第2除塵装置15)、第3除塵工程S16(第3除塵装置16))を備えている。
This method (system) performs dust removal processing (first dust removal step S14 (first dust remover 14) to third dust removal step S16 (third dust remover 16) for removing foreign substances (other materials) as described above). , at least a second dust removal step S15 (second dust remover 15) and a third dust removal step S16 (third dust remover 16). Therefore, the pulp fibers and the superabsorbent polymer can be easily separated by size from the main resin material among the other materials of the used absorbent article excluding the pulp fibers and the superabsorbent polymer (second dust removal step). S15 (second dust remover 15)), it can be easily separated by specific gravity from other materials with high specific gravity, such as metal materials (third dust remover step S16 (third dust remover 16)). Then, after that, by separating the pulp fibers and the superabsorbent polymer from each other (second and third separation steps S17 and S18 (second and
The second separation step S<b>17 is performed by the
The third separation step S<b>18 is performed by the

The fourth separation step S20 is performed by the
In the present method (system), at least the first 3 Separation step S18 (third separation device 18) and oxidant treatment step S19 (oxidant treatment device 19) are provided. Therefore, by crushing a substantially spherical or massive superabsorbent polymer, the surface area of the superabsorbent polymer can be greatly expanded, and the exposed part can be increased by exposing the inner part of the superabsorbent polymer to the front side. can. Therefore, in the oxidizing agent treatment step S19 (oxidizing agent treatment device 19), the inner portion of the superabsorbent polymer, which is difficult to contact with the oxidant in the case of a massive or substantially spherical superabsorbent polymer, is brought into contact with the oxidant. It is possible to increase the contact area with the oxidizing agent in the superabsorbent polymer. As a result, the oxidative decomposition of the superabsorbent polymer can proceed more efficiently, and the oxidizing agent treatment time can be shortened. Therefore, the efficiency of the treatment for removing the superabsorbent polymer from the pulp fibers can be enhanced.
The crushing process is preferably performed batchwise. A batch of the collection bag A and the acidic aqueous solution B in the volume tank V (Va) are both pulled out from the solution tank V (Va) through the crushing
In addition, this method preferably includes an ozonation step S22 and a pH adjustment step S23. These steps are steps for regenerating and reusing the acidic aqueous solution used in this method. By reusing the acidic aqueous solution, the cost of the acidic aqueous solution can be reduced. In the ozonation step S22, the acidic
In the method for recovering pulp fibers from used absorbent articles containing pulp fibers and superabsorbent polymers described above, the crushing process for crushing the used absorbent articles (punching step S11 (bag breaking device 11) to first The separation step S13 (first separation device 13) includes at least a hole making step S11 (bag breaking device 11) and a crushing step S12 (crushing device 12). Then, in the perforating step S11 (bag breaking device 11), by perforating the collecting bag, an inactivating aqueous solution (eg, an acidic aqueous solution) is introduced into the collecting bag through the hole, and the used absorbent article is removed. The contained superabsorbent polymer is deactivated with an aqueous deactivating solution and the collection bag is submerged substantially below the surface of the aqueous deactivating solution. Next, in the crushing step S12 (crushing device 12), the used absorbent articles together with the collection bag are placed in the inactivated aqueous solution while discharging the collection bag submerged under the surface of the inactivated aqueous solution from the solution tank together with the inactivated aqueous solution. crush. Therefore, since the used absorbent article in the collection bag is crushed together with the collection bag in the inactivated aqueous solution, at least until crushing is started, the inactivated aqueous solution is mixed with dirt and fungi, and odor is generated. Very rarely. That is, the used absorbent article can be hygienically and safely crushed, and the cost of sanitary control in work and maintenance can be suppressed.
As a preferred aspect of the embodiment, the step of punching holes in the collection bag in the punching step S11 and the step of crushing the used absorbent articles together with the collection bag in the crushing step S12 may be performed at mutually different positions. .
In this method, the step of making a hole in the collection bag (the bag breaking device 11) and the step of crushing the used absorbent article together with the collection bag (the crushing device 12) are performed at different places or positions (devices). . Therefore, the inactivating aqueous solution can be introduced into the collection bag through the holes to ensure that the collecting bag is submerged under the surface of the inactivating aqueous solution before crushing can take place at another location or position.

As another embodiment, the step of making a hole in the surface of the collection bag in contact with the inactivated aqueous solution in the making step S11 (bag breaker 11) (punching part 50) is performed while rotating around the rotation axis. It may be executed by a protrusion (the bag-breaking
In this method, a projection (bag-breaking blade 41) that moves up and down in a solution bath while rotating around a rotating shaft makes a hole in the collecting bag. Therefore, even if the collecting bag is not submerged in the inactivating aqueous solution, the collecting bag can be reliably perforated by, for example, moving the protrusions above the solution bath and contacting the collecting bag. Since the collecting bag is submerged in the inactivating aqueous solution after the holes are made, the collecting bag can be reliably submerged in the acidic solution in a short period of time, reducing processing time and increasing processing efficiency.
As a preferred aspect of the embodiment or another embodiment, in the perforating step S11 (the bag breaking device 11), the step of perforating the surface of the collection bag in contact with the inactivated aqueous solution (the perforating
In this method, the collection bag is fed into the inactivated aqueous solution, and the projections (the bag-breaking
In preferred aspects of embodiments, the inactivating aqueous solution is an acidic aqueous solution.
As a result, in the crushing step S12 (crushing device 12), the used absorbent article does not swell to a large extent, and can be easily crushed, thereby improving processing efficiency.
In preferred aspects of embodiments, the acidic aqueous solution comprises citric acid.

A second embodiment will be described. Differences from the first embodiment will be mainly described below. However, also in this embodiment, the case where an acidic aqueous solution is used as an inactivating aqueous solution will be described as an example.

FIG. 7 is a schematic diagram showing a configuration example of the crushing/separating device 10 (container+crushing

FIG. 8 is a flow chart showing an example of a method according to this embodiment. The method comprises a crushing step S12, a first separation step S13, preferably a first dust removal step S14, a second dust removal step S15, a third dust removal step S16, a second separation step S17, A third separation step S18, an oxidizing agent treatment step S19, and a fourth separation step S20 are provided. A detailed description will be given below. The method according to the present embodiment can be regarded as the method according to the first embodiment except for the drilling step S11.

A
The first separation step S<b>13 is performed by the
A
In this system and method, at least after receiving the collection bag A in the
An example of a method for recovering pulp fibers from the used absorbent article will be described below.
In this example, the perforating step S11, the crushing step S12, and the first separating step S13 of the method according to the first embodiment are performed on the absorbent article, and the crushing method and other materials ( The relationship with the mixed amount of foreign matter) was investigated. Specifically, an adult disposable diaper (unused) was used as the absorbent article. In the crushing step S12, Examples 1 to 3 were obtained when the crushing
FIG. 9 shows the results of examining the relationship between the crushing method and the amount of other materials mixed. FIG. 9 is a graph showing the relationship between the size of crushed objects in the crushing process, the throughput, and the amount of foreign matter. The bar graph (with the vertical axis on the left side) indicates the processing amount (kg) per batch, and indicates the amount of disposable diapers that can be processed by the
When not crushed (comparative example), the disposable diaper is directly processed in the first separation step S13. Therefore, as shown in the figure, the disposable diaper is large and bulky, and the bonding between the topsheet and the backsheet is difficult. The amount of disposable diapers (processed amount) was small. However, since the material was not crushed, the size of each material was large, and the amount of foreign matter contained in the
On the other hand, when the disposable diapers were crushed (Example), the disposable diapers became less bulky, so the amount of disposable diapers that could be processed by the first separating device 13 (processed amount) increased. However, the individual materials became smaller due to the crushing, and the amount of foreign matters contained in the
Therefore, it was found that crushing was better than non-crushing from the viewpoint of throughput. Furthermore, when considering the amount of foreign matter, it was found that it is preferable to set the average size of the crushed objects to 50 mm or more and 100 mm or less.
The above embodiment describes the case where the constituent member of the back sheet is a film and the constituent member of the top sheet is non-woven fabric.
