Investigation leading to the embodiment First, the details of the investigation conducted by the inventor of the present application will be described. In the inorganic core molding process, first, sand, water, surfactant, binder, and liquid foaming agent, which are materials for the core, are mixed in a predetermined ratio. As a result, mousse-like kneaded sand is produced. Then, the kneaded sand is injected into a mold at a high temperature (approximately 200° C. to 300° C.) and fired to produce a solid core.
Here, if the filling property of the mold is good, there is a possibility that the core and the binder ejected from the mold will stick to the mold. FIG. 1 is a schematic diagram schematically showing a state in which the binder and the core are attached to the mold. A
FIG. 2 is a schematic diagram schematically showing a state in which the core is normally taken out. The
If the sticking failure of the core occurs, there is a problem that a part of the core is chipped off. In addition, it is necessary to remove the core remaining inside the mold, which poses a problem of impeding the operation of the manufacturing equipment. For example, the mold needs to be cleaned in preparation for the next injection molding. As a countermeasure, it is possible to apply a mold release agent exclusively for inorganic cores, but it is difficult to completely prevent core sticking defects.
The inventor investigated the cause of the sticking failure shown in FIG. The causes of poor sticking are (1) low binder content, (2) clogging of the inside of the mold and gas venting holes in the mold, and (3) improper design of the mold gradient. Because it is unsuitable, it is considered that the release resistance is large, (4) the baking time is short, and the like.
However, since many manufacturing defects occurred in winter, the inventor thought that there was a temperature factor. A certain amount of sand used for kneading is stored in equipment for molding (molding). It is known that the sand temperature depends on the air temperature around the facility. FIG. 3 is a graph showing the relationship between the temperature of sand used for kneading (that is, sand as a material) and the ambient temperature (air temperature) around the equipment. The horizontal axis indicates the ambient temperature around the facility. The vertical axis represents the temperature of the material sand. There is a strong positive correlation (coefficient of determination R 2 =0.9446) between sand temperature and ambient temperature.
It was also analyzed that the temperature of the kneaded sand was significantly different between summer and winter. FIG. 4 is a graph showing the relationship between the temperature of kneaded sand and molding time. The kneaded sand is contained in a kettle, and the kettle is heated by a mold during molding. The vertical axis on the left represents the temperature of the mold. The vertical axis on the right side indicates the temperature of the kneaded sand contained in the kettle. The horizontal axis represents the molding time, but the date differs between the left side and the right side of the graph. The left side (0 seconds to 4000 seconds) represents the measurement results on February 13, 2020, which is included in the winter season. The right side (4000 seconds to 8000 seconds) represents the measurement results on June 14, 2020, which is included in the summer season. 0 seconds corresponds to the start of molding on February 13, 2020, and 4000 seconds corresponds to the start of molding on June 14, 2020.
FIG. 4 shows a curve showing the temperature change of the mold and a curve showing the temperature change of the kneaded sand. The temperature of the mold is almost the same in both summer and winter. On the other hand, when comparing the temperature of the kneaded sand at 0 seconds and the temperature of the kneaded sand at 4000 seconds, it can be seen that the temperature of the kneaded sand differs by about 20° C. between summer and winter. The temperature of the kneaded sand is lowest at the beginning of molding and increases as molding time increases.
From FIGS. 3 and 4, the inventor considered that the cause of the failure was the decrease in the temperature of the kneaded sand in winter. FIG. 5 is a schematic diagram schematically showing the flow of investigation by the inventor. First, the inventor thought that the cause of the defect was a drop in the temperature of the sand or secondary materials in winter (S1). Then, the inventor examined the weight ratio of the sand and the auxiliary material (S2), and considered that the main cause of the manufacturing defect was the temperature drop of the sand.
(S5)。 Therefore, the inventor considered raising the temperature of the sand itself, which is the material, more than before (S3). The inventor studied a method of directly heating sand (hereinafter referred to as plan A) (S4), and a method of heating sand via a storage device (hereinafter referred to as plan B). (S5).
When Plan A was examined, it was found that due to the low thermal conductivity coefficient of sand, it was difficult to heat the entire sand and the effect was low. Furthermore, it has been found that when the sand contains recycled sand, the water contained in the sand is released and the sand hardens (blocks) due to the condensation reaction of the binder. As the sand hardens, it becomes less fluid, which can be a problem during manufacturing.
When Plan B was examined, it was found that the amount of heat required to heat the storage device (also called a hopper) was large and inefficient. FIG. 6 is a graph showing changes over time in the temperature of sand contained in a hopper. FIG. 6 shows the sheet temperature, the hopper temperature, and the sand temperature when the hopper is heated from the outside by the electric heating sheet. A hopper capable of accommodating 13 kg of sand was used. The vertical axis represents temperature. The horizontal axis represents the elapsed time after the electric heating sheet was attached to the storage device. It can be seen that the hopper temperature and sand temperature hardly increased.
(S7)。 Therefore, the inventor determined that Plan A and Plan B were not effective. Returning to FIG. 5, next, a method of raising the temperature of the mold to a higher temperature than before (hereinafter referred to as plan C) was examined (S6). In addition, it was considered to lengthen the baking time of the molded product compared to the conventional one (in summer) (S7).
As a result of studying Plan C, it was found that the probability of defects decreased when the temperature of the sand was low, but the number of manufacturing defects increased as a whole. Specifically, deterioration of the surface roughness of the surface of the molded product (hereinafter also referred to as wrinkle defect) and manufacturing defect due to failure to fill the mold (hereinafter also referred to as clogging defect) occurred. The reason for this is considered to be that the fluidity of the kneaded sand is deteriorated by raising the temperature of the mold. In addition, it was found that there are cases in which S7 cannot be applied due to process restrictions because the molding time is lengthened.
In summary, plan A has a problem that sand blocking occurs and operation of the molding apparatus is hindered. In plan B, there is a problem that the sand temperature cannot be raised within the required limited time, or a huge amount of heat is required. In plan C, there is a problem that manufacturing defects other than sticking defects occur. Therefore, in order to reduce sticking defects, a method other than Plans A, B, and C is required. The inventors of the present application arrived at the invention according to the embodiment based on the above studies.

Next, the
Next, the
The
The
FIG. 8 is a schematic diagram schematically showing the flow of the temperature control method. The horizontal direction represents time, and the right side represents later time. The vertical direction represents the temperature, and the higher the temperature, the higher the temperature. The first temperature is set, for example, to a temperature used for normal molding (also referred to as normal temperature). In addition, the second temperature is set to a temperature higher than the first temperature by about 10°C to 20°C.
A temperature control method according to the first embodiment will be described with reference to FIG. First, the set temperature of the
Then, on the condition that the number of times of molding after starting the
The
Note that the
Also, materials for a plurality of molded products may be put into the
Next, with reference to FIG. 9, a method for determining the number of times of molding to switch temperatures and the second temperature will be described. FIG. 9 is obtained by deleting the mold temperature data from FIG. 4, and is a graph showing temporal changes in temperature of kneaded sand in summer and winter. As explained in FIG. 4, the vertical axis on the right represents the temperature of the kneaded sand. Also, the horizontal axis represents time, but the measurement date differs between the left side and the right side.
It should be noted that in FIG. 9, the temperature of the mold is controlled according to the prior art. That is, the temperature of the mold is set to the normal temperature, and temperature switching control is not performed. However, it is assumed that the production of kneaded sand and the filling of kneaded sand are performed in the same manner as in the first embodiment.
As described above, P1 to P4 represent the temperature of the kneaded sand on February 13, 2020, and P5 to P8 represent the temperature of the kneaded sand on June 14, 2020. P1 and P5 indicate the temperature of the kneaded sand during kneading immediately after starting the molding device. P2 and P6 indicate the temperature of the first shot kneaded sand. P3 and P7 indicate the temperature of the kneaded sand at the 5th shot. P4 and P8 indicate the temperature of the kneaded sand at the 10th shot.
Comparing the temperature of P1 and the temperature of P5, it can be seen that the temperature of the kneaded sand differs by about 20° C. between summer and winter. Also, it can be seen that the temperature of P3 and the temperature of P4 are sufficiently close to the temperature of P5. That is, the temperature of the kneaded sand in winter is close to the temperature of kneaded sand immediately after starting the molding apparatus in summer when the number of times of molding is about 5 to 10 times. Therefore, it may be preferable to set the temperature of the mold to the first temperature at this timing in order not to cause defects other than sticking of the core. Also, the number of times of molding at which the temperature of the kneaded sand becomes about 30° C. may be used as a condition for switching the temperature control.
The inventors of the present application applied the temperature control method according to the first embodiment to a core molding apparatus, and succeeded in preventing the core from sticking in the apparatus.
The temperature control method according to the first embodiment raises the temperature of the cauldron and the temperature of the kneaded sand by setting the temperature of the mold high until a predetermined number of times of molding. As a result, it is possible to reduce manufacturing defects after starting the molding apparatus. Also, by switching the temperature control at a predetermined number of times of molding, it is possible to suppress the occurrence of other manufacturing defects.
The temperature control method according to the first embodiment can be applied to cases where the temperature of the material to be molded has a large effect on quality, or to a process of molding with a mold in a temperature range higher than room temperature (for example, press molding, injection molding). Moreover, the temperature control method according to the first embodiment is particularly effective when cycle delays and idle shots after the start of molding are not allowed.
It should be noted that the present invention is not limited to the above embodiments, and can be modified as appropriate without departing from the scope of the invention.
