Abstract
Description

カスタマイズされた構造シムを使用する例示的な方法が、本明細書において数字100で示す図1のブロック図に示される組み立てプロセスに示されている。

粘度
ASTM D2196-10に記載の方法に従って試料の粘度を測定した。測定前に試料を77°F(25℃)で最低8時間安定させた。試料を手で3分間撹拌し、60分間静置し、AMETEK Brookfield(Middleboro、MA、米国)から入手した2回転/分(RPM)で回転する7番スピンドルを備えたDV2T回転粘度計を使用して、粘度を決定した。
ASTM D792-13に記載の方法に従って試料の密度を測定した。測定前に試料を77°F(25℃)で最低24時間安定させた。空気中及び水中の試料の重量を、METTLER Toledo(Columbus、OH、米国)から入手した密度キットを備えたXS104 Analytical Balanceを使用して測定した。
9.525cm×4.064cm×0.318cm(3.75インチ×1.6インチ×0.125インチ)のキャビティ寸法を有する、ポリテトラフルオロエチレン(polytetrafluoroethylene、PTFE)製の開放金型に、シーラントを適用することによって、サンプルを製造した。適用したシーラントの上面及び底面がほぼ平行になるように、過剰なシーラントを平刃の工具を使用して削り取った。
ステップ1:ポリスルフィドパターン化合物のA剤調製物
スパチュラを使用して、MAX 200 DACカップ(FlackTek,Inc.(Landrum、SC.、米国))内でMnO2及びMTを表1に特定された重量パーセントで混合することによって、A剤を調製した。次いで、SPEEDMIXERのモデルDAC 400 FVZ(FlackTek,Inc.)を使用して、カップの内容物を1600回転/分(RPM)で60秒間混合した。カップの側部及び底部をスパチュラで削り取り、カップの内容物を1600RPMで更に30秒間混合した。次に、ZnSt及びCBを、表1に特定された重量パーセントでDACカップに加え、全ての原料を1600RPMで更に60秒間混合した。得られた硬化剤成分は、25℃(77°F)における1350ポアズの粘度、及び1.58g/cm3の密度を有した。
A剤と同様の様式でB剤を調製した。スパチュラを使用して、MAX 200 DACカップ内でPS、S322、TiO2、HT、RB、及びTETDを表2に特定された重量パーセントで混合した。次いで、DAC 400 FVZ SPEEDMIXERを使用して、カップの内容物を1600RPMで60秒間混合した。カップの側部及び底部をスパチュラで削り取り、内容物を1600RPMで更に30秒間混合した。得られた基剤成分は、25℃(77°F)における11,200ポアズの粘度及び1.51g/cm3の密度を有し、色は赤色であった。
スパチュラを使用して、10グラムのA剤と100グラムのB剤とをMAX 200 DACカップ内で混合した。次いで、DAC 400 FVZ SPEEDMIXERを使用して、カップの内容物を1600RPMで60秒間混合した。カップの側部及び底部をスパチュラで削り取り、内容物を1600RPMで更に30秒間混合した。
混合した組成物の25グラム部分を、航空機構造の2つの結合し合う部品の間のシム間隙内に設置した。得られたゴム状間隙パターンは55のショアA硬度を有し、航空機部品への接着を示さず、必要なシムの輪郭及び外形の公称マップを提供した。
ステップ1:硬化剤の調製(A剤)
スパチュラを使用して、MAX 200 DACカップ内でPET及びDABCOを表3に特定された重量パーセントで混合し、60℃で2時間加熱することによって、A剤を調製した。混合物を室温まで冷却し、残りの原料:R-202、S322、D-E135、及びTnBB-MOPAを、表3に特定された重量パーセントでDACカップに添加した。次いで、DAC 400 FVZ SPEEDMIXERを使用して、原料を1600RPMで60秒間混合した。カップの側部及び底部をスパチュラで削り取り、原料を1600RPMで更に30秒間混合した。
DAC 400FVZ SPEEDMIXERを用いて、MAX 200 DACカップ内で表4に特定された原料を1600RPMで60秒間混合することによって、B剤を調製した。カップの側部及び底部をスパチュラで削り取り、内容物を1600RPMで更に30秒間混合した。
スパチュラを使用して、90.92グラムのA剤と10.34グラムのB剤とをMAX 200 DACカップ内で混合した。次いで、DAC 400 FVZ SPEEDMIXERを使用して、カップを1600RPMで30秒間混合した。カップの側部及び底部をスパチュラで削り取り、内容物を1600RPMで更に30秒間高速混合した。
混合した組成物の25グラム部分を、自動車ドア構造の2つの結合し合う部品の間のシム間隙内に設置した。パターン化合物の露出した部分を、450nmのLED硬化ランプ(3M ELIPAR DeepCure-S Light、3M Company(St.Paul、MN、米国))を使用して60秒間照射した。次の8時間の間に、パターン化合物の残りの非照射部分をゴム状塊へと完全に硬化させた。得られた間隙パターンは自動車ドア部品への接着を示さず、45のショアA硬度を有し、必要なシムの輪郭及び外形の公称マップを提供した。

Claims (15)
- アセンブリの第1の部品と第2の部品との間に設置される構造シムを製造する方法であって、
前記第1の部品と前記第2の部品との間の間隙内に硬質化可能な組成物を配置することと、
前記硬質化可能な組成物を硬質化させて寸法的に安定なシムパターンを提供することと、
前記間隙から前記シムパターンを取り出すことであって、損傷を伴わずに前記シムパターンを前記間隙から取り出すことのできる、取り出すことと、
前記シムパターンを使用して前記構造シムを製作することと、を含む、方法。 - 前記アセンブリが航空機であり、前記第1の部品が前記航空機の外板であり、前記第2の部品が前記航空機の基礎構造である、請求項1に記載の方法。
- 前記シムパターンを使用して前記構造シムを製作することが、前記シムパターンのデジタルモデルを作成することと、次いで前記デジタルモデルを使用して前記構造シムを製作することと、を含む、請求項1又は2に記載の方法。
- 前記間隙から前記シムパターンを取り出すことによって前記外板又は基礎構造上に残る残留汚染は本質的にゼロである、請求項1~3のいずれか一項に記載の方法。
- 前記硬質化可能な組成物は押出可能な組成物である、請求項1~4のいずれか一項に記載の方法。
- 前記硬質化可能な組成物は周囲温度で液体である、請求項1~5のいずれか一項に記載の方法。
- 前記硬質化可能な組成物は周囲温度で寸法的に安定である、請求項1~6のいずれか一項に記載の方法。
- 前記硬質化可能な組成物はフィルム又はシートの形態で提供される、請求項7に記載の方法。
- 前記硬質化可能な組成物は硬化可能な組成物であり、前記硬質化可能な組成物を硬質化させることは、前記硬化可能な組成物を硬化させることを含む、請求項1~8のいずれか一項に記載の方法。
- 前記硬化可能な組成物は第1及び第2の成分を含み、前記硬化可能な組成物は前記第1及び第2の成分を互いに混合することによって硬化される、請求項9に記載の方法。
- 前記硬化可能な組成物は化学線への曝露によって硬化され、化学線への前記曝露は、前記硬化可能な組成物中に埋め込まれている複数のフィルム、繊維、及び/又は粒子を介して前記化学線を透過させることによって提供される、請求項9に記載の方法。
- 前記硬化可能な組成物は、前記硬化可能な組成物を周囲温度を超える硬化温度まで加熱することによって硬化される、請求項9に記載の方法。
- 前記構造シムは付加製造プロセス又は減法製造プロセスによって製作される、請求項1~12のいずれか一項に記載の方法。
- 航空機の外板と基礎構造とを接合する方法であって、
請求項1~13のいずれか一項に記載の方法に従って構造シムを製造することと、
前記構造シムを前記外板と前記基礎構造との間に挿入することと、
前記外板と前記基礎構造とを互いに固着することと、を含む、方法。 - 航空機の外板と基礎構造との間に設置される構造シムの製作のためのシムパターンを製造する方法であって、
前記外板と前記基礎構造との間の間隙内に硬質化可能な組成物を配置することと、
前記硬質化可能な組成物を硬質化させて前記シムパターンを提供することであって、前記シムパターンは寸法的に安定である、硬質化させることと、
前記シムパターンを前記間隙から取り出すことであって、損傷を伴わずに前記シムパターンを前記間隙から取り出すことのできる、取り出すことと、を含む、方法。
