When impregnating the raw material with at least one of Fe, Ni and Co, it is preferable to immerse the raw material in an aqueous solution containing Fe and the like. The immersion time of the raw material may be sufficient as long as the raw material is sufficiently impregnated with Fe or the like, and is preferably 12 hours (overnight) or longer to ensure impregnation. Any aqueous solution containing Fe or the like may be used, and for example, an aqueous solution of iron nitrate or the like that can be easily produced using pyroligneous acid is preferable.
The heat treatment may be a heat treatment in a closed system, and may be, for example, a hydrothermal treatment or a heat treatment in a closed gas phase. Moreover, the heat treatment is preferably performed in an inert gas atmosphere such as nitrogen or argon. The heat treatment temperature is sufficient as long as the raw material is semi-carbonized, and may be, for example, 200° C. or higher or 300° C. or lower. The heat treatment time is sufficient so long as the raw material is semi-carbonized, and is, for example, 1 to 5 hours.
In the method for producing highly crystalline carbon according to the embodiment of the present invention, the precursor obtained by the method for producing the precursor according to the embodiment of the present invention is heated to 650° C. or higher to carbonize it, and then washed with an acid. I do. This makes it possible to obtain highly crystalline carbon having a relatively large crystallite size (Lc, La) and a relatively small average interplanar spacing (interlayer distance; d 002 ).
When carbonizing the precursor, the precursor may be carbonized by firing at 650° C. to 1100° C. in a nitrogen atmosphere. In order to further improve the crystallinity, the firing is preferably performed at 750° C. or higher, and in order to further enhance the crystallinity, the firing is preferably performed at 900° C. or higher. In addition, during carbonization, highly crystalline carbon can be obtained simply by heating to the firing temperature once. In order to further improve the crystallinity, it is preferable to set the firing time to 2.5 hours or longer. Moreover, it is preferable to use a strongly acidic solution such as hydrochloric acid or sulfuric acid for the acid cleaning.
The method for producing highly crystalline carbon and the method for producing a precursor according to the embodiments of the present invention can use biomass, which is a sustainable resource, as a raw material, and produce highly crystalline carbon and its precursor, respectively. can do. The highly crystalline carbon produced by the method for producing highly crystalline carbon according to the embodiment of the present invention can be used, for example, as a negative electrode material for lithium ion secondary batteries or a negative electrode material for aluminum ion secondary batteries. can be done.
First, a precursor sample was manufactured according to the method for manufacturing a precursor according to the embodiment of the present invention. As a raw material, 10 g of larch sawdust with a particle size of 200 μm or less was used. In addition, iron nitrate hydrate (Fe(NO 3 ) 3 9H 2 O: manufactured by Fujifilm Wako Pure Chemical Industries, Ltd., concentration 99.0%) was used to prepare an iron nitrate aqueous solution with a concentration of 10 to 60 g -Fe /L. Created. As shown in Fig. 1(a), raw material sawdust and 100 mL of iron nitrate aqueous solution are placed in a stainless steel autoclave (inner volume: 500 ml) according to the formulation shown in Table 1, and After standing for 12 hours, the sawdust was impregnated with Fe. In addition, as shown in Table 1, for comparison, 20 g of raw material sawdust and 100 mL of water were placed in a stainless steel autoclave (inner volume: 500 ml) and allowed to stand at room temperature for about 12 hours. I prepared things.
Then, after N2 purging was performed several times in an autoclave, as shown in Table 1, hydrothermal treatment was performed at 250°C for 4 hours. In the hydrothermal treatment, the internal pressure was adjusted to about 1 MPa and the stirring speed was 300 rpm. After the hydrothermal treatment, the solid was separated by filtration using a 0.2 μm filter ("OMNIPORE (registered trademark)" manufactured by Merck Millipore), washed several times with ultrapure water, and placed in a constant temperature bath at 105°C for about 12 hours. dried. Thus, precursor samples shown in Table 1 were obtained. The ultrapure water used was produced by a pure water production apparatus (“WG-220” manufactured by Yamato Scientific Co., Ltd.) (hereinafter the same).
Next, carbon samples were produced according to the method for producing highly crystalline carbon according to the embodiment of the present invention. As shown in FIG. 1(b), 1.0 g of each precursor sample was charged into an electric tubular furnace, and carbonization was performed at each temperature and time shown in Table 2 while flowing N 2 at a flow rate of 200 mL/min. to obtain carbon samples 1-9. The heating rate was about 16°C/min. The
Further,
Each precursor sample and each carbon sample were subjected to Raman spectroscopic analysis, crystal structure analysis by X-ray diffraction (XRD) method, thermogravimetric analysis (TG), and observation by transmission electron microscope (TEM). In the Raman spectroscopic analysis, the diffraction grating was set to 600 gr/mm, the center wavenumber was set to 2000 cm −1 , the exposure time was set to 10 s, and the number of accumulations was set to 10. X-ray diffraction was performed using a multi-purpose horizontal sample X-ray diffractometer (manufactured by RIGAKU Co., Ltd.) with a measurement range of 10 to 60 deg, a scanning speed of 2.0 deg/min, a tube voltage of 40 kV, and a tube current of 40 kV. Measurements were made as mA.
In thermogravimetric analysis, "TG/DTA6200 (EXSTAR6000 series, manufactured by Seiko Instruments Inc.)" was used. Each precursor sample was heated to 900° C. with N 2 gas at a rate of 10° C./min, then the gas was switched to air and held for about 15 minutes. Each carbon sample was heated from room temperature to 450°C (10°C/min) with air flowing at 200 ml/min, held for 10 minutes, and then heated again to 600°C ( 10°C/min), and finally heated up to 700°C at 50°C/min. In transmission electron microscope (TEM) observation, "HT-7500 (manufactured by Hitachi Ltd.)" was used to observe the morphology and structure of the sample. Also, using "JEM-2100F (manufactured by JEOL)", energy dispersive X-ray analysis (TEM-EDS) was performed.
[About the precursor sample]
For the precursor samples Fe/SD (1:10), Fe/SD (2:10), Fe/SD (4:10), and Fe/SD (6:10) shown in Table 1, X-ray diffraction Measurements and Raman spectroscopy were performed. The XRD and Raman spectra of each precursor sample are shown in Figures 3(a) and (b), respectively. As shown in FIG. 3(a), peaks derived from iron oxide (Fe 3 O 4 ) were observed in each precursor sample, and these peaks increased as the amount of Fe added increased. confirmed. Moreover, no peak derived from cellulose was observed in each precursor sample. It is considered that this is because the crystalline structure of cellulose has disappeared due to hydrothermal carbonization.
In addition, as shown in FIG. 3(b), each precursor sample has broad peaks in the D band (near 1350 cm −1 ) and G band (near 1580 cm −1 ), indicating a slight carbon structure. It was confirmed that it had developed and was semi-carbonized. In addition, it was confirmed that in the precursor samples Fe/SD(2:10), Fe/SD(4:10), and Fe/SD(6:10), the D band slightly developed as the amount of Fe added increased. It is thought that carbonization is progressing. For the precursor sample Fe/SD (0:20) to which Fe was not added, carbonization hardly progressed, and the Raman spectrum could not be measured.
FIG. 4 shows the TEM observation results of the precursor samples Fe/SD (1:10), Fe/SD (2:10), and Fe/SD (4:10). As shown in FIG. 4, black shaded portions are Fe 3 O 4 , and it was confirmed that the nanoparticles of Fe 3 O 4 were uniformly dispersed in the structure of the precursor sample. It was also confirmed that the number of Fe 3 O 4 particles increased and the size of Fe 3 O 4 particles increased as the amount of Fe added increased. In the precursor sample Fe/SD (4:10), Fe 3 O 4 occupied the majority, confirming that a large amount of Fe 3 O 4 was present in the precursor sample.
Thermogravimetric analysis (TG) was performed on the precursor samples Fe/SD (1:10), Fe/SD (2:10), Fe/SD (4:10), and Fe/SD (6:10). rice field. The results are shown in FIGS. 5(a) to 5(d), respectively. Further, the Fe content of each precursor sample was calculated with all remaining Fe as Fe 2 O 3 , and the results are shown in FIG. 5(e). As shown in FIGS. 5(a) to 5(d), a large weight loss was confirmed at around 600° C. for each precursor sample. This is presumably because when FeO is reduced to Fe or Fe 3 C, carbon evaporates into CO and the like. In addition, as shown in FIG. 5(e), it was confirmed that the Fe content of each precursor sample increased with an increase in the charged amount of Fe. From this result, it is considered that the amount of Fe doping in the precursor sample can be controlled.
Precursor sample Fe/SD(4:10) and precursor sample Fe/SD(4:10)-dry-batch used for
Thermogravimetric analysis (TG) was performed on the precursor sample Fe/SD(4:10) and the precursor sample Fe/SD(4:10)-dry-batch used for
[Regarding the amount of Fe added]
For carbon samples, the effect of Fe addition amount on sawdust raw material was investigated.
FIG. 8(b) shows the results of Raman spectroscopic analysis performed on the acid-washed
As shown in FIG. 9B, in
When using highly crystalline carbon as a negative electrode material for a lithium ion secondary battery, the presence of Fe 3 C results in a decrease in performance. From the results of FIG. 9, it is considered that since Fe 3 C cannot be completely removed by acid cleaning, it is necessary to consider the composition of the precursor and the heat treatment conditions in order to remove Fe 3 C.
A magnified XRD spectrum of
From the XRD spectrum, in the precursor sample Fe/SD (4:10) after hydrothermal carbonization, Fe was present in the state of Fe 3 O 4 (see FIG. 3(a)). It can be seen that it was reduced to α-Fe (see FIG. 9(a)) and then washed with an acid to confirm only highly crystalline carbon (see FIG. 9(b) and FIG. 10).
From the XRD spectrum shown in FIG. 9(b), the crystallite sizes (Lc, La) and average interplanar spacing (d 002 ) of

From the results of FIGS. 12(a) to 12(c), the weight fraction of highly crystalline carbon was determined using equation (1). Considering that the weight loss from the temperature of about 450°C, where the DTG peak is minimum, to 700°C is only gasification of highly crystalline carbon, the weight ratio of highly crystalline carbon to the total organic matter with reduced Fe content was calculated. The results are shown in FIG. 12(d). In addition, in the formula (1), all remaining Fe is Fe 2 O 3 , and 0.669 in the formula (1) is the weight ratio of iron in Fe 2 O 3 .
As shown in FIG. 12(d), it was confirmed that the proportion of highly crystalline carbon increased as the Fe content increased. From this, it can be said that the higher the Fe content, the lower the amorphous ratio and the higher the purity of the crystalline carbon. The reason for this is thought to be that the contact gasification of Fe also progressed at the same time as the high crystallization progressed, so that the amorphous portion became easy to gasify.

Enlarged TEM images of the highly crystalline portion shown in FIG. 13(b) are shown in FIGS. 14(a) to 14(c). Further, the electron beam diffraction pattern of the highly crystalline portion is shown in FIG. 14(d). As shown in Figure 14 (a) to (c), it was confirmed that the graphene sheets were stacked in parallel in the highly crystalline portion, and it was confirmed that a large crystal structure of 20 nm or more had developed. was done. Further, as shown in FIG. 14(d), the diffraction lines of the (002) plane and the (100) plane appeared annularly from the electron beam diffraction pattern, confirming that the film had a polycrystalline structure. Diffraction lines of (101) plane and (110) plane were also confirmed in the large crystal size portion where diffraction is strong.
From the above results, when the precursor is produced, the weight ratio of Fe to the raw material composed of woody biomass is set to Fe: raw material = 0.5 to 7:10. is about 10 wt % to about 75 wt %, and it can be said that highly crystalline carbon can be obtained. In addition, by setting Fe:raw material to 3 to 7:10, the content of Fe in the precursor becomes about 44 wt % to about 75 wt %, and carbon with higher crystallinity can be obtained, and Fe 3 C can also be removed. In addition, by setting the ratio of Fe:raw material to 3 to 5:10, the content of Fe in the precursor becomes about 44 wt % to about 58 wt %, and it can be said that carbon with even higher crystallinity can be obtained.
[About carbonization temperature]

From the above results, it can be said that highly crystalline carbon can be obtained by setting the temperature at which the precursor is carbonized to 650°C to 1100°C. Further, it can be said that by setting the temperature at 750° C. to 1100° C., carbon with higher crystallinity can be obtained, and by setting the temperature at 900° C. to 1100° C., carbon with even higher crystallinity can be obtained.
[About carbonization time]

From the XRD spectrum shown in FIG. 18(b), the crystallite size (Lc, La) and average interplanar spacing (d 002 ) of
From the above results, it can be said that highly crystalline carbon can be obtained by once heating the precursor to the carbonization temperature when carbonizing the precursor. Further, it can be said that by setting the carbonization time to 0.5 hours or longer, carbon with higher crystallinity can be obtained, and by setting the carbonization time to 2.5 hours or longer, carbon with even higher crystallinity can be obtained. .
[About the carbonization method]

Thermogravimetric analysis (TG) was performed on
From the above results, it can be said that highly crystalline carbon can be obtained whether hydrothermal treatment is performed or heat treatment is performed in a sealed state in a gas phase when the precursor is produced.
