Abstract
Description
しかしながら、内燃機関及びこれを搭載する車両への要求が厳しくなるにつれて、摺動部における潤滑油の保持性能のさらなる向上が求められている。
図1及び図2に示すように摺動部材10は、裏金層11、軸受合金層12及びオーバレイ層13を備えている。なお、摺動部材10は、裏金層11と軸受合金層12との間に図示しない中間層を備えていてもよい。また、摺動部材10は、図1に示す例に限らず、裏金層11とオーバレイ層13との間に、複数の軸受合金層12や中間層、その他の機能を有する層を備えていてもよい。摺動部材10は、オーバレイ層13側の端部に図示しない相手部材と摺動する摺動面14を形成する。図1に示す本実施形態の場合、摺動部材10は、裏金層11の摺動面14側に、軸受合金層12及びオーバレイ層13が順に積層されている。軸受合金層12は、裏金層11と反対側の端部に、オーバレイ層13が積層される端面15を有している。裏金層11は、例えば鉄や銅などの金属又は合金で形成されている。軸受合金層12は、例えばAl若しくはCu又はそれらの合金などで形成されている。本実施形態の場合、オーバレイ層13の厚さは、3μmから20μmであり、5μmから15μmであることが好ましい。
Sv1=10×Vv1-0.1(±0.3) 式(1)
の関係が成立することが好ましい。すなわち、Sv1とVv1とは、図3に示すように2本の1次関数の直線に挟まれた領域が定義され、この範囲にSv1及びVv1が含まれる。そして、Vv1は、上述の0.015≦Vv1≦0.200、好ましくは図3の網掛けで示すように0.020≦Vv1≦0.160であることが好ましい。当然ながら、Sv1は、Sv1>0である。
図4に示すように裏金層11の一方の面側に軸受合金層12が形成されたバイメタル20は、例えば半円筒形状や板状などに形成される。バイメタル20は、半円筒形状や板状に限らず、円筒形状または円筒を周方向へ複数に分割した形状であってもよい。
以上の手順によって、バイメタル20にオーバレイ層13が形成され、摺動部材10が作成される。
各実施例及び比較例は、図6に示す条件を用いて耐焼付性の評価として焼き付かない最大面圧(MPa)を測定した。実施例及び比較例に用いた摺動部材10の試料は、内径56mm、軸方向の全長が15mm、及び厚さが1.5mmの筒状とした。試料は、相手部材との相対的な回転速度である周速を20m/sと設定して相手部材と摺動させた。このとき、試料と相手部材との間に加わる荷重は、5MPa/10minと設定した。潤滑油は、VG22を100ml/minで供給した。
図7は、オーバレイ層13の摺動面14における突出谷部空間体積であるVv1が摺動部材10の耐焼付性に与える影響の評価を示している。実施例1から実施例5は、いずれもVv1が0.015≦Vv1≦0.200である。これに対し、比較例1は、Vv1が0.229と上記の上限を上回っている。また、比較例2は、Vv1が0.010と上記の下限を下回っている。このように、Vv1を適切に設定した実施例1から実施例5は、耐焼付性の評価を示す焼き付かない最大面圧が比較例1及び比較例2よりも向上する。特に、Vv1が0.020≦Vv1≦0.160である実施例2、実施例3及び実施例4は、この範囲外である実施例1及び実施例5と比較して、耐焼付性がより向上する。
図8は、オーバレイ層13の摺動面14における突出谷部深さであるSv1が耐焼付性に与える影響の評価を示している。実施例6から実施例9は、いずれもSv1がVv1に対して、式(1)であるSv1=10×Vv1-0.1(±0.3)の関係を満たしている。これら実施例6から実施例9は、Vv1が0.020≦Vv1≦0.160の範囲にある実施例10から実施例13と比較して、耐焼付性がより向上している。このことから、Sv1とVv1との間に式(1)の関係が成立するとき、耐焼付性がより向上することがわかる。
図9は、軸受合金層12の端面15における突出谷部空間体積であるVv2、及び突出谷部深さであるSv2が耐焼付性に与える影響の評価を示している。実施例14から実施例16は、軸受合金層12の端面15の形状的な特性と耐焼付性との関係を示している。これら実施例14から実施例16によると、軸受合金層12の端面15におけるVv2及びSv2は、オーバレイ層13を形成した摺動部材10の耐焼付性に与える影響が小さいことがわかる。
図10は、軸受合金層12の端面15における突出谷部空間体積であるVv2、及び突出谷部深さであるSv2が摺動部材10の耐疲労性に与える影響の評価を示している。上述の図9で説明したように、軸受合金層12のVv2及びSv2が摺動部材10の耐焼付性に与える影響は小さい。これに対し、軸受合金層12のVv2及びSv2を適切に調整することにより、図10に示すように摺動部材10の耐疲労性は向上する。軸受合金層12の端面15におけるVv2及びSv2は、端面15を処理する際のショットの粒径やショットの圧力によって制御される。耐疲労性の試験は、図11に示す条件で行なった。

- 軸受合金層の摺動面側に、樹脂で形成されているオーバレイ層を備える摺動部材であって、
前記オーバレイ層の前記摺動面における突出谷部空間体積Vvv(μm3/μm2)をVv1とすると、
前記Vv1は、
0.015≦Vv1≦0.200
である摺動部材。 - 前記Vv1は、
0.020≦Vv1≦0.160
である請求項1記載の摺動部材。 - 前記摺動面における突出谷部深さSvkをSv1とすると、
