Abstract
Description
The present invention is a friction base material used as a wet friction material for a friction material engaging device provided with a plurality of or a single friction plate in a transmission or the like of an automobile or a motorcycle, and wet friction using the friction base material. The present invention relates to a material and a method for producing the wet friction material thereof.
As a wet friction material for a friction material engaging device, a paper-based wet friction material is generally used. This wet friction material is formed by impregnating and curing a papermaking base material containing pulp, aramid fibers, etc. with a curable resin containing a thermosetting resin or the like, and is excellent in heat resistance.
In recent friction material engaging devices, the heat generated on the friction surface of the wet friction material tends to increase due to the high-speed rotation of the usage environment due to electrification. Therefore, the wet friction material is required to further improve the heat resistance, particularly the heat spot resistance. In order to meet such a demand, a friction material as described in
That is, in the wet friction material of
That is, the above-mentioned wet friction material controls the distribution of the amount of resin in the thickness direction (hereinafter, also referred to as "migration control"), and lowers the amount of resin on the friction surface to make the friction surface flexible. Improvements (hereinafter, also referred to as "increase in the amount of strain") are being attempted. Further, in the wet friction material, the amount of strain on the friction surface is increased, so that the aggression to the mating material with which the friction surface is engaged is suppressed, so that the heat spot resistance can be improved. can.
It was found that the increase in the amount of strain on the friction surface due to the migration control described above is effective in improving the heat spot resistance. However, it was also found that when the amount of resin and the density of the friction surface were reduced by migration control, the amount of change in plate thickness was likely to increase and the occurrence of turning was likely to occur.

(Test evaluation)
Heat spots: Visually, those without heat spots were evaluated as "OK", and those with heat spots were evaluated as "NG".
Amount of change in plate thickness: Using a micrometer, measure the plate thickness of the wet friction material before the test and the plate thickness of the wet friction material after the test, and the amount of change in the plate thickness before and after the test is within 0.2 mm. Those over 0.2 mm were evaluated as "OK", and those over 0.2 mm were evaluated as "NG".
Turn-up: Visually, those without turn-up were evaluated as "OK", and those with turn-up were evaluated as "NG".
(4) Consideration of performance evaluation As shown in the results of Tables 1 and 2, the heat spots are No. 1 of Examples. All 1 to 3 were OK, but No. 1 of the comparative example. 6 was OK, but No. 4 and No. 5 was NG. That is, it was shown that the examples having a permanent strain amount of 90 μm or more are less likely to generate heat spots and have higher heat resistance than the comparative examples having a permanent strain amount of less than 90 μm.
The amount of change in plate thickness is No. 1 of Examples. All 1 to 3 were OK, but No. 1 of the comparative example. 4 and No. 5 was OK, but No. 6 was NG. That is, it was shown that in the examples having a permanent strain amount of 150 μm or less, the influence of the permanent strain amount was not affected by the plate thickness change amount as compared with the comparative example in which the permanent strain amount exceeded 150 μm.
The turning is No. 1 of the example. All 1 to 3 were OK, but No. 1 of the comparative example. 4 and No. 5 was OK, but No. 6 was NG. That is, it was shown that when the content of the cured resin is less than 18% by mass, it affects the turning.
When the content of the cured resin exceeds 35% by mass, No. Since the permanent strain amount of 5 became the lowest value, it was shown to affect the permanent strain amount.
Further, the molding temperature and the molding time in the heat molding step were No. 1 of Comparative Example in which the molding temperature was the longest and the molding time was shorter than that of the examples. Since the permanent strain amount of No. 4 was less than 90 μm, it was shown that the permanent strain amount was affected.

Of these, as automobile supplies, they are suitably used for automatic transmissions (automatic transmissions, ATs), manual transmissions, lockup clutches, torque limiters and the like. As the present wet friction material, only one sheet may be used in the apparatus, or a plurality of sheets may be used, but it is preferable that a plurality of sheets are used. The more the wet friction material is used in one device, the greater the effect can be obtained cumulatively.
