Description
The present invention relates to a method for cleaning biomass fragments and a cleaning device.
In recent years, plant-derived biomass resources have been attracting attention as one of the renewable energy resources. A typical method of using biomass resources is fuel for power generation equipment and boilers. In thermal power plants and the like, it is being studied to use biomass resources as they are, or carbonized or semi-carbonized, as a fuel to replace coal and petroleum.
Typical biomass resources are wood pellets and wood chips. However, some wood pellets and wood chips have a high alkali metal content due to differences in tree species and collection sites. The presence of alkali metals in the fuel lowers the melting point of the ash during combustion in the boiler, causing damage to the furnace wall or adhering to the wall of the heat exchanger, resulting in reduced efficiency. There is a risk of problems such as
Several attempts are already known to reduce the content of alkali metals from biomass resources. For example, in
However, the method for cleaning biomass described in

In addition, the cleaning apparatus of the present invention is a relatively simple apparatus, has excellent productivity, and can reduce the content of alkali metal in biomass fragments.
Hereinafter, embodiments of the present invention will be described in detail, but the embodiments of the present invention are not limited to the specific embodiments described below.
The biomass in the present embodiment is a biomass for which it is necessary to reduce the content of the alkali metal, and is a biomass that can be used as a fuel. Here, the alkali metals existing in the biomass are mainly potassium and sodium. In order to use the biomass as a fuel, it is preferable to reduce the total content of the alkali metals in the biomass to preferably 3000 ppm or less, more preferably 2000 ppm or less, and further preferably 1000 ppm or less.
Biomass can be classified into woody biomass, herbaceous biomass, and other biomass. Wood-based biomass includes thinned wood, forest residue, dead wood, old wood and other wood materials, bark, sawdust and other lumber by-products, edible fungus waste hoda trees, roadside trees, pruned branches, and construction waste. Tree species include broad-leaved trees and coniferous trees, and specific examples include, but are limited to, sugi, pine, cypress, shii, oak, willow, poplar, eucalyptus, acacia, rubber, palm palm, jatrofa, mangrove, etc. It is not done. In particular, many tree species existing in the tropics and subtropics contain a large amount of alkali metals. Residues of palm palm include PKS (palm palm shell), EFB (palm palm empty fruit bunch), palm trunk (palm palm trunk), palm fiber and the like. Specific examples of herbaceous biomass include rice husks, straw, rice straw, bamboo, corn, sorghum, miscanthus, switchgrass, ipilipil, sugar cane residue, banana residue, etc., but are not limited to these. No. Other biomass includes aquatic plants, seaweeds, algae and the like.
Biomass fragments are those that have been crushed, crushed, cut, etc., to reduce their dimensions and improve their handleability. The shape of the biomass strips varies depending on the properties of the biomass and the production method. As a dimensional representation of the biomass strips, the maximum transfer length of each strip is adopted as the length of each strip. Crushing or crushing the biomass to reduce the size of the biomass and increase the surface area of the biomass strips is preferable because the efficiency of reducing alkali metals when the biomass strips are washed is improved. However, if the size of the biomass strips is too small, the handleability during washing and subsequent drying deteriorates. Therefore, the average length of the biomass strips is preferably 5 to 100 mm, more preferably 10 to 50 mm.
As a method for reducing the content of alkali metal in biomass, a method of immersing biomass in a container filled with water or washing water and allowing it to stand or stir for a long time to wash it has been conventionally known. There is. However, such a method is inferior in productivity and it is difficult to process a large amount of biomass in a short time.
In particular, crushed or crushed biomass fragments often have a complicated surface shape. If such biomass fragments are accumulated without moving, it becomes more difficult to renew the washing water in the accumulated biomass fragments, and it is difficult to deposit the alkali metal.
In order to efficiently reduce the alkali metal in the biomass, the present inventor constantly updates the washing water existing near the surface of the biomass fragment without stagnation to wash away the alkali metal existing near the surface. By doing so, I thought it was important to move the alkali metal in the biomass fragments from the inside to the vicinity of the surface.
Therefore, as a result of repeated studies, the present inventor has found that the method described below is effective. As a method for cleaning biomass fragments, it is most preferable that all of the following methods are satisfied.
(1) Both the biomass fragments and the washing water are always moved without staying in a fixed place.
(2) The operation of replacing the washing water existing around the biomass strip is repeated or constantly performed.
(3) It is preferable to move both the biomass strip and the washing water in different directions (vector, flow line). Here, the different directions mean, for example, directions that are approximately 180 degrees different from each other (opposite directions) or directions that are 90 degrees different from each other (perpendicular directions).
(4) It is preferable that the washing water is circulated and used repeatedly. As a result, water resources can be effectively utilized.

[Cleaning method of the first embodiment]
In FIG. 1, the
The cleaning
The
After cleaning is completed, the
The cleaning container 6 containing the biomass fragments 10 moves in order through the four cleaning areas 3, but it may move at a constant speed without stopping, or it may be temporarily stopped at each cleaning area 3 to be constant. It may move intermittently, such as moving to the next cleaning area 3 after the lapse of time.
As can be seen from the above description, in the cleaning method using the
The time of staying in each cleaning region 3 can be variously changed according to the type of biomass and cleaning conditions (temperature, cleaning chemicals, amount of cleaning water, etc.). The time staying in each cleaning area 3 can be changed by changing the speed of the
Further, by supplying
Further, since the
In order to increase the cleaning efficiency of the
Further, in order to increase the cleaning efficiency of the
When cleaning is performed by adding cleaning chemicals to the cleaning

[Cleaning device of the second embodiment]
FIG. 3 is a schematic cross-sectional view of the cleaning device according to the second embodiment of the present invention. The cleaning device and cleaning method of the second embodiment are basically the same as the cleaning device and cleaning method of the first embodiment. Therefore, the description of the common parts will be omitted, and the parts different from the first embodiment will be mainly described below.
The

In FIG. 3, the
The cleaning
The cleaning

After cleaning is completed, the
The cleaning
As can be seen from the above description, in the cleaning method using the
In the second embodiment, since the washing is performed by the jet flow of the
When cleaning by adding cleaning chemicals to the cleaning
When performing two-stage cleaning using one
Further, when performing the two-step cleaning, two
As described above as the first embodiment and the second embodiment, the cleaning method of the present invention can be carried out by a relatively simple device, and the alkali metal content of the biomass strips can be made efficient. It can be reduced well. In addition, the cleaning method of the present invention is excellent in productivity because it can be continuously processed. Further, since the biomass fragments are washed by the water flow or the jet flow of the washing water while moving through a plurality of washing regions in order, the amount of the washing water can be relatively small, and the biomass fragments can be washed. Can be performed uniformly.
