Abstract
Description
The present invention relates to a rubber composition for a tire that constitutes a tread portion of a pneumatic tire mainly used in a commercial vehicle.
Pneumatic tires installed in commercial vehicles (taxis, delivery vehicles, various commercial vehicles, etc.) have a longer mileage than pneumatic tires for general passenger cars, and are often controlled at medium and low speeds. Since it tends to be repeated, excellent wear resistance and uneven wear resistance are required. In addition, low rolling performance is required from the viewpoint of consideration for the environment. On the other hand, excellent wet performance is required because it travels frequently even in rainy weather (see, for example, Patent Document 1). In particular, in recent years, torrential rains (local and short-term sudden heavy rains) have frequently occurred in the summer, so it is required to exhibit excellent steering stability performance even on wet road surfaces with deep water. There is.
Various tread patterns have been proposed in order to achieve both of these performances. However, from the viewpoint of the tread pattern, the wet performance and the wear resistance performance and the uneven wear resistance performance are contradictory performances, and although the wet performance can be improved by increasing the groove area formed in the tread portion, the groove As a result of the increase in the area, it becomes difficult to secure a sufficient ground contact area, so that it tends to be difficult to maintain the wear resistance performance and the uneven wear resistance performance, and there is a problem that a sufficient effect cannot be obtained. Therefore, it is necessary to have a measure that highly balances wear resistance, uneven wear resistance, low rolling performance, and wet performance (steering stability on a wet road surface with deep water) depending on the physical characteristics of the rubber composition for tires constituting the tread portion. Has been done.
An object of the present invention is to provide a rubber composition for a tire capable of highly achieving both wear resistance, uneven wear resistance, low rolling performance, and wet performance (steering stability on a wet road surface with deep water). There is.

The rubber composition for tires of the present invention that achieves the above object is: natural rubber or solution-polymerized
Since the rubber composition for tires of the present invention is composed of the above-mentioned composition, it is possible to achieve both wear resistance, uneven wear resistance, low rolling performance, and wet performance (steering stability on a wet road surface with deep water). Can be done. In particular, the rubber component contains natural rubber or solution-polymerized isoprene rubber and butadiene rubber to obtain excellent wear resistance and uneven wear resistance, while the emulsion-polymerized styrene-butadiene rubber ensures excellent wettability. However, these performances can be compatible with each other. Further, since carbon black having the above-mentioned physical properties is blended, wear resistance, uneven wear resistance, and low rolling performance can be exhibited, and these performances can be highly compatible with each other.
In the present invention, the emulsion-polymerized styrene-butadiene rubber contains a process oil, the amount of bonded styrene is 15% by mass to 25% by mass, the 1,2-bonding content of the butadiene part is 20% or less, and the trans 1 of the butadiene part. , 4-The bond content is preferably 65% or more, and the glass transition temperature in the state containing the process oil is preferably −50 ° C. or less. By using such an emulsion-polymerized styrene-butadiene rubber, it is advantageous to improve the wear resistance performance and the uneven wear resistance performance.
In the present invention, the 1,2-bond content of the butadiene rubber is preferably 20% or less. By using such a butadiene rubber, it is advantageous to improve the wear resistance performance and the uneven wear resistance performance.
In the present invention, the total amount of the process oil blended with the diene rubber and the process oil contained in the emulsion-polymerized styrene-butadiene rubber is 15 parts by mass to 25 parts by mass with respect to 100 parts by mass of the diene rubber. Is preferable. By setting the blending amount of the process oil in this way, the hardness of the rubber composition can be ensured, which is advantageous for improving the wear resistance performance and the uneven wear resistance performance.
The rubber composition for tires of the present invention preferably has a glass transition temperature of −60 ° C. or lower. Such physical properties are advantageous for improving wear resistance and uneven wear resistance.
A pneumatic tire using the above-mentioned rubber composition for a tire in a tread portion can highly achieve both wear resistance, uneven wear resistance, low rolling performance, and wet performance depending on the physical characteristics of the rubber composition.
At this time, on the outer surface of the tread portion, two or more main grooves extending along the tire circumferential direction and at least one row of land portions partitioned between the main grooves adjacent to each other in the tire width direction are provided. One of the land portions is divided into a plurality of blocks by a plurality of composite grooves provided at intervals in the tire circumferential direction, and the composite groove is a main groove having one end adjacent to one side of the land portion. It opens in the direction of the tire and extends at an angle with respect to the tire circumferential direction, and the other end extends from the other end of the groove along the extension direction of the groove to the other side of the land. It is composed of a sipe portion communicating with an adjacent main groove, and each of the plurality of blocks is further divided into small triangular or trapezoidal blocks by sipe extending in the direction opposite to the compound groove. The tires and the depth of the sipe can be made shallower than the depth of the groove. By adopting such a tread pattern, it is advantageous to achieve both wear resistance, uneven wear resistance, low rolling performance, and wet performance at a high level.
In the rubber composition for tires of the present invention, the rubber component is a diene rubber, and always contains natural rubber or solution-polymerized isoprene rubber, butadiene rubber, and emulsion-polymerized styrene-butadiene rubber. The blending amount of the natural rubber or the solution-polymerized isoprene rubber is 30% by mass to 40% by mass, preferably 35% by mass to 40% by mass in 100 parts by mass of the diene rubber. The blending amount of the butadiene rubber is 25% by mass to 35% by mass, preferably 25% by mass to 30% by mass in 100 parts by mass of the diene rubber. The blending amount of the emulsion-polymerized styrene-butadiene rubber is 25% by mass to 45% by mass, preferably 35% by mass to 45% by mass in 100 parts by mass of the diene-based rubber. By using these rubbers in combination as described above, wear resistance, uneven wear resistance, and wet performance can be improved. In particular, by blending natural rubber or solution-polymerized isoprene rubber with butadiene rubber, wear resistance and uneven wear resistance can be improved, and by blending emulsion-polymerized styrene-butadiene rubber, excellent wettability is ensured. can do.
As the natural rubber, solution-polymerized isoprene rubber, butadiene rubber, and emulsion-polymerized styrene-butadiene rubber, rubber usually used in rubber compositions for tires can be used.
However, as the butadiene rubber, it is preferable to use a butadiene rubber having a 1,2-bond content of preferably 20% or less, more preferably 10% to 20%. By setting the 1,2-bond content in the butadiene rubber within the above range, excellent wear resistance and uneven wear resistance can be obtained. If the 1,2-bond content in the butadiene rubber exceeds 20%, the wear resistance performance deteriorates.
The emulsion-polymerized styrene-butadiene rubber contains a process oil in the rubber, and the glass transition temperature in the state containing the process oil is preferably −50 ° C. or lower, more preferably −55 ° C. to −52 ° C. Should be used. Further, the amount of bonded styrene in the emulsified polymerized styrene-butadiene rubber is preferably 15% by mass to 25% by mass, more preferably 20% by mass to 25% by mass, and the 1,2-bond content of the butadiene part is preferably 20% or less. , More preferably 15% by mass to 20% by mass, and the trans 1,4-bond content of the butadiene portion is preferably 65% or more, more preferably 80% by mass to 85% by mass. By using such an emulsion-polymerized styrene-butadiene rubber, it is advantageous not only to improve the wet performance but also to improve the wear resistance and the uneven wear resistance. If the glass transition temperature of the emulsion-polymerized styrene-butadiene rubber exceeds −50 ° C., the wear resistance performance deteriorates. If the amount of bonded styrene of the emulsion-polymerized styrene-butadiene rubber is less than 15% by mass, the wet performance is deteriorated. If the amount of bonded styrene of the emulsion-polymerized styrene-butadiene rubber exceeds 25% by mass, the low rolling performance deteriorates. If the 1,2-bond content of the butadiene portion of the emulsion-polymerized styrene-butadiene rubber exceeds 20%, the wear resistance performance deteriorates. If the trans 1,4-bond content of the butadiene portion of the emulsion-polymerized styrene-butadiene rubber is less than 65%, the wear resistance performance and the low rolling performance are deteriorated.
The "1,2-bond content" and the "trans 1,4-bond content" are the butadiene bonding modes of cis-1,4-bond, trans-1,4-bond, and 1, respectively. Of the 2-vinyl bonds, the ratio of 1,2-vinyl bonds and the ratio of trans-1,4-bonds. The 1,2-bond content in butadiene rubber, the amount of bonded styrene in emulsion-polymerized styrene-butadiene rubber, the 1,2-bond content in the butadiene part, and the trans 1,4-bond content in the butadiene part are all infrared. In the rubber composition of the present invention, carbon black is blended in an amount of 71 parts by mass to 100 parts by mass, preferably 70 parts by mass to 80 parts by mass, based on 100 parts by mass of the diene rubber. By blending carbon black in this way, the strength of the rubber composition can be improved. If the blending amount of carbon black is less than 71 parts by mass, the hardness of the rubber composition after vulcanization cannot be sufficiently obtained. If the blending amount of carbon black exceeds 100 parts by mass, the low rolling performance may deteriorate.
CTAB adsorption specific surface area of carbon black used in the present invention is 88m 2 / g~108m 2 / g, preferably 90m 2 / g~100m 2 / g. By using carbon black having such characteristics, it is advantageous to improve wear resistance, uneven wear resistance, and low rolling performance. If the CTAB adsorption specific surface area of carbon black is less than 88 m 2 / g, the rubber strength is lowered, and the wear resistance and uneven wear resistance are lowered. When the CTAB adsorption specific surface area of carbon black exceeds 108 m 2 / g, the rolling resistance deteriorates. In the present invention, the CTAB adsorption specific surface area of carbon black shall be measured in accordance with ISO 5794.
Further, the nitrogen adsorption specific surface area N 2 SA of the carbon black used in the present invention is 84m 2 / g~95m 2 / g, preferably 88m 2 / g~95m 2 / g. By using carbon black having such characteristics, it is advantageous to improve wear resistance, uneven wear resistance, and low rolling performance. If the nitrogen adsorption specific surface area N 2 SA of carbon black is less than 84 m 2 / g, the rubber strength is lowered, and the wear resistance and uneven wear resistance are lowered. When the nitrogen adsorption specific surface area N 2 SA of carbon black exceeds 95 m 2 / g, the rolling resistance deteriorates. In the present invention, the nitrogen adsorption specific surface area N 2 SA of carbon black shall be measured in accordance with JIS K6217-2.
Further, the DBP oil absorption of the carbon black used in the present invention is 115 mL / 100 g to 126 mL / 100 g, preferably 116 mL / 100 g to 126 mL / 100 g. By using carbon black having such characteristics, it is advantageous to improve wear resistance, uneven wear resistance, and low rolling performance. If the DBP oil absorption of carbon black is less than 115 mL / 100 g, the rubber strength is lowered, and the wear resistance and uneven wear resistance are lowered. When the DBP oil absorption of carbon black exceeds 126 mL / 100 g, the rolling resistance deteriorates. In the present invention, the amount of DBP refueling of carbon black shall be measured in accordance with JIS K6217-4.
The rubber composition of the present invention may contain an inorganic filler other than carbon black. Examples of other inorganic fillers include silica, clay, talc, calcium carbonate, mica, aluminum hydroxide and the like.
In the rubber composition of the present invention, the process oil is preferably blended in an amount of 15 parts by mass to 25 parts by mass, more preferably 20 parts by mass to 25 parts by mass, based on 100 parts by mass of the diene rubber. As the process oil, those usually used in rubber compositions for tires, for example, aroma-based, paraffin-based and naphthenic-based process oils can be used. By blending the process oil in this way, the hardness of the rubber composition can be maintained, and good wear resistance and uneven wear resistance can be obtained. If the blending amount of the process oil is less than 15 parts by mass, the workability deteriorates. If the blending amount of the process oil exceeds 25 parts by mass, the uneven wear resistance is lowered. The blending amount of the process oil is not only the amount of the compounding agent added to the rubber component but also the total amount of the oil component contained in the emulsion-polymerized styrene-butadiene rubber.
Other compounding agents other than the above can be added to the rubber composition of the present invention. Other compounding agents include various compounding agents generally used in rubber compositions for tires, such as vulcanization or cross-linking agents, vulcanization accelerators, antiaging agents, liquid polymers, thermosetting resins, and thermoplastic resins. Can be exemplified. The blending amount of these blending agents can be a conventional general blending amount as long as it does not contradict the object of the present invention. Further, as the kneading machine, a normal rubber kneading machine, for example, a Banbury mixer, a kneader, a roll or the like can be used.
Since the rubber composition for tires of the present invention is composed of the above-mentioned composition, it is possible to achieve both wear resistance, uneven wear resistance, low rolling performance, and wet performance (steering stability on a wet road surface with deep water). Can be done. Therefore, the rubber composition for a tire of the present invention can be suitably used as a rubber (tread rubber layer 11 described later) constituting the tread portion 1 of a pneumatic tire as shown in FIG.
FIG. 1 is a meridian cross-sectional view of a general pneumatic tire in which the rubber composition for a tire of the present invention can be used. The pneumatic tire includes a tread portion 1, a pair of
A carcass layer 4 is mounted between the pair of left and
The tread pattern formed on the outer surface of the tread portion 1 is not particularly limited, but is suitable for achieving both wear resistance, uneven wear resistance, low rolling performance, and wet performance, as in the rubber composition for tires of the present invention. (For example, the structure of FIG. 2) may be adopted.
In the example of FIG. 2, two or more (three in the illustrated example)
The
Each of the plurality of
As described above, the structure in which the
In the structure of FIG. 2, it is preferable that the groove depths of the
Hereinafter, the present invention will be further described with reference to Examples, but the scope of the present invention is not limited to these Examples.
The tire size is 155 / 80R14 88 / 86N, it has the basic structure illustrated in FIG. 1, and based on the tread pattern of FIG. 2, the form of the composite groove, the block form, and the depth of the sipe portion of the composite groove are set respectively. 16 types of pneumatic tires of Conventional Example 1, Comparative Examples 1 to 6, and Examples 1 to 9 set as shown in Tables 1 and 2 were produced.
The rubber composition for a tire constituting the tread portion of these pneumatic tires has the formulations shown in Tables 1 to 3 (Table 3 is a formulation common to all the examples). These rubber compositions for tires are each weighed the compounding components excluding the vulcanization accelerator and sulfur, kneaded in a 1.8 L closed type Banbury mixer for 5 minutes, released a master batch at a temperature of 150 ° C., and cooled to room temperature. Then, this master batch was put into a 1.8 L closed type Banbury mixer, a vulcanization accelerator and sulfur were added, and the mixture was mixed for 2 minutes to prepare a rubber composition for a tire.
Regarding the column of "morphology of composite groove" in Tables 1 and 2, the case where the composite groove is composed of the groove portion and the sipe portion as in the example of FIG. (When a lug groove is formed instead of a groove) is displayed as "groove only". Regarding the column of "block form" in Tables 1 and 2, when the block is divided into small blocks having a substantially triangular shape by a composite groove and a sipe as in the example of FIG. 2, "substantially triangular" is provided, and only the composite groove is provided. The case where the blocks are divided into blocks having a substantially parallel quadrilateral shape is indicated as "parallel quadrilaterals". Regarding the "Sipe depth" column in Tables 1 and 2, when the groove depth of the sipe is smaller than the groove depth of the groove, it is "shallow", and the groove depth of the sipe and the groove depth of the groove are the same. In some cases, it was displayed as "equivalent".
The obtained rubber composition for tires was evaluated for wear resistance, uneven wear resistance, rolling resistance, and wet performance by the methods shown below.
Abrasion resistance performance Each test tire is assembled to a wheel with a rim size of 14 x 5.0J, and the front tire has an air pressure of 300 kPa and the rear tire has an air pressure of 270 kPa. The course was run for 8000 km, and the amount of wear after running was measured. The evaluation result is shown by an index with Standard Example 1 as 100 using the reciprocal of the measured value. The larger the index value, the smaller the amount of wear and the better the wear resistance performance.
Uneven wear resistance performance Each test tire is assembled to a wheel with a rim size of 14 x 5.0J, and the front tire has an air pressure of 300 kPa and the rear tire has an air pressure of 270 kPa. The test course was run for 8000 km, and the difference in the maximum amount of wear between the tread center portion and the tread shoulder portion after running was measured. The evaluation result is shown by an index with Standard Example 1 as 100 using the reciprocal of the measured value. The larger the index value, the smaller the difference in the amount of wear depending on the part, and the better the uneven wear resistance performance.
Low rolling performance Each test tire is assembled to a wheel with a rim size of 15 x 4.5J, the air pressure is 350 kPa, and an indoor drum tester (drum diameter: 1707 mm) is used. The rolling resistance when the drum was driven at a speed of 80 km / h with a load corresponding to 85% of the load applied and pressed against the drum was measured. The evaluation result is shown by an index with the measured value of Standard Example 1 as 100. The smaller the index value, the smaller the rolling resistance, which means that the low rolling performance is excellent. If the index value is "110" or less, it means that sufficient low rolling performance equivalent to that of Standard Example 1 has been obtained.
Wet performance Each test tire is assembled to a wheel with a rim size of 14 x 5.0J, and the front tire has an air pressure of 240 kPa and the rear tire has an air pressure of 290 kPa. A sensory evaluation of performance was performed. The evaluation result is shown by an index with the value of Standard Example 1 as 100. The larger this index value is, the better the wet performance (steering stability on a wet road surface).

As is clear from Table 1, the pneumatic tires of Examples 1 to 9 have a good balance of wear resistance, uneven wear resistance, low rolling performance, and wet performance. On the other hand, in Comparative Example 1, since the amount of carbon black blended was large, the low rolling performance deteriorated. In Comparative Example 2, since the amount of carbon black blended was small, the uneven wear resistance performance and the wet performance were deteriorated. In Comparative Example 3, since the CTAB adsorption specific surface area, nitrogen adsorption specific surface area N 2 SA, and DBP oil absorption of carbon black were all large (the particle size of carbon black was small), the low rolling performance was deteriorated. In Comparative Example 3, since the CTAB adsorption specific surface area and nitrogen adsorption specific surface area N 2 SA of carbon black were small (the particle size of carbon black was large), the wear resistance and the uneven wear resistance were deteriorated. In Comparative Example 5, since the blending amount of the butadiene rubber was small, the wear resistance performance and the uneven wear resistance performance deteriorated. In Comparative Example 6, since the amount of butadiene rubber blended was large, the wet performance was deteriorated.
