Abstract
Description
The present invention relates to a light emitting device and a method for manufacturing the same.
Various light emitting devices have been developed that combine a light emitting diode (hereinafter, also referred to as “LED”) and a phosphor to emit light of white, light bulb color, orange, or the like. In these light emitting devices, a desired emission color can be obtained by the principle of color mixing of light. These light emitting devices are required to be used in a wide variety of fields such as general lighting, vehicle lighting, displays, and liquid crystal backlights. Among them, a light emitting device used as a light source of a display or a backlight for liquid crystal is required to obtain a mixed color light with good color purity of blue, green and red in order to reproduce a wide range of colors on chromaticity coordinates. ing. That is, in the emission spectrum of the light emitting device, the half-value width of each emission peak existing in each wavelength region of blue light, green light, and red light is narrow, and the color purity of blue light, green light, and red light is good, and the color mixing property is improved. There is a need for light emitting devices that emit improved light. The full width at half maximum refers to the full width at half maximum (FWHM) of the emission peak in the emission spectrum, and refers to the wavelength width of the emission peak showing 50% of the maximum value of the emission peak in the emission spectrum.
For example, in

The

For convenience of explanation, it is assumed that the

In the formula (I), the variable q represents the molar ratio of Mg. The variable q is preferably 0.05 or more and 0.1 or less in order to increase the stability of the crystal structure of the first aluminate phosphor (I) and the absorption rate and the emission intensity of the excitation light of the first
In the formula (I), the variable r represents the molar ratio of Mn which is an activating element. The variable r is preferably more than 0.20 and not more than 0.60 (0. 0) in order to increase the absorption rate and the emission intensity of the excitation light of the first
In the formula (I), the variable t represents the molar ratio of Eu as the activator element. The first aluminate phosphor (I) contains both Mn and Eu as an activator element, and Eu absorbs the excitation light of the first light-emitting element to excite the electrons, which is 500 nm or more and 525 nm or less. It emits green light having an emission peak wavelength within the range. Since the first aluminate phosphor (I) contains both Mn and Eu as activator elements, a part of the excitation energy absorbed by the excitation light from the first light emitting element by Eu is transferred to Mn, Contributes to the emission of Mn. The variable t is preferably more than 0 and less than 0.70 (0<t<0.70 in order to increase the absorption rate and the emission intensity of the excitation light of the first
