Abstract
Description
The present invention generally relates to a surface broach suitable for cutting difficult-to-cut materials such as nickel-base superalloys, and a cutting method using the same.
The turbine constituting the center of the aircraft engine is formed by fitting wing-like turbine blades into a number of grooves provided on the outer peripheral side of a disk-shaped turbine disk.
In the case of forming a concave groove on the outer peripheral side of the turbine disk, groove processing by a dedicated surface broach disclosed in
That is, a tree-shaped groove is formed on the outer peripheral side of the turbine disk by a surface broach, and at the same time, a coupling portion (convex portion) of the turbine blade is formed in a tree shape. A turbine blade is integrated.
However, in recent years, superalloys having extraordinary strength against high temperatures and oxidation resistance have been adopted for turbine disks from the viewpoint of improving fuel efficiency.
Superalloys are also known as difficult-to-cut materials because of their high cutting resistance, easy work hardening during cutting, and poor thermal conductivity.
On the other hand, a surface broach is a cutting tool that can incorporate a plurality of process elements such as rough, semi-finishing, and finishing when finishing the outer surface of a work material such as the turbine disk into a required shape. Excellent.
However, when such a difficult-to-cut material is cut into a precise shape using a surface broach, chipping (chipping) is likely to occur on the cutting edge, and the cutting can be performed only at a low speed of about 2 to 4 m / min. However, low processing efficiency is a problem.
Therefore, an object of the present invention is to provide a surface broach capable of coping with a relatively high speed (20 m / min or more) when cutting a difficult-to-cut material, and a cutting method using the same.
The surface broach according to the present invention is a surface broach having a broach body and a cutting edge provided on the broach body, and the cutting edge of the cutting edge is formed in an R-shaped portion having a chamfered edge exceeding R = 5 μm. It is characterized by having been done.
Here, the expression "cutting edge provided on the broach body of the surface broach" includes a cutting edge provided integrally with the broach body and a cutting edge provided as a separate member attached to the broach body. It is.
The number of cutting edges is not limited, and the present invention is included as long as at least one or more cutting edges are subjected to chamfering exceeding R = 5 μm.
In the present invention, the chamfered R-shaped portion is intended to exclude a C-chamfered shape formed of a cut surface, and the chamfer amount is defined by a radius R of a circle approximated to a curved surface chamfered to a curved surface shape. Express.
In the present invention, the chamfer amount of the R-shaped portion is preferably not less than 50 μm and less than 100 μm.
In the present invention, the cutting edge has a flank and side surfaces formed on both sides of the flank, and a ridge formed by the flank and the side surface is an R-shaped ridge portion subjected to chamfering. It may be formed.
In the present invention, the cutting edge is a WC-Co-based cemented carbide, and the content of Co may be more than 12% by mass% and 15% or less.
Here, the WC-Co-based cemented carbide is a sintered alloy using tungsten carbide powder as a binder metal and cobalt, and can maintain high hardness and high strength even at a high temperature.
WC-Co based superalloys include those to which a small amount of TiC, TaC or the like is added.
The toughness, tensile strength, hardness and the like change depending on the content of Co as the binder metal. As will be described in detail later, it is preferable that the content of Co exceeds 12% by mass%.
In the present invention, the cutting edge may be brazed to the broach body.
In this way, the cutting edge can be replaced with respect to the broach body.
The surface broach according to the present invention is suitable for cutting difficult-to-cut materials, and the cutting speed can be set to 10 m / min to 30 m / min, which is higher than before.
Further, the cutting amount of the cutting edge may be set to be larger than the chamfer amount of the cutting edge.
A typical example of the difficult-to-cut material in the present invention is a nickel-based superalloy.
Since the surface broach according to the present invention has an R-shaped portion chamfered on the cutting edge of the cutting edge, it is possible to suppress occurrence of chipping (chipping) on the cutting edge when cutting difficult-to-cut materials. it can.
This makes it possible to set the cutting speed to a high speed of 20 m / min or more even for difficult-to-cut materials, thereby improving productivity.

In addition, a surface broach (hereinafter, referred to as “the present invention”) in which a bevel of 0.05 mm (50 μm) is applied by grinding to a cutting edge portion of the cutting edge, and a surface broach having the same form as the present invention are cut. Two types of surface broaches were used, a surface broach (hereinafter, referred to as a "comparative product") in which a bevel of 0.005 mm (5 .mu.m) was chamfered on the edge of the blade.

In this test, the change in the amount of wear at the ridges on both the left and right sides of the cutting edge of the present invention product and the comparative product was measured, and at the same time the total cutting length reached each stage of 2.5 m, 5 m, 10 m and 20 m. A photograph was taken of the abrasion condition.
FIG. 7 shows changes in the total cutting length and the amount of wear on the left and right ridges of the cutting edge in this test, FIGS. 8 to 12 show the wear on the ridge of the cutting edge of the present invention, and the wear on the ridge of the comparative cutting edge. The states are shown in FIGS. 13 to 15, respectively.
As shown in FIG. 7, the amount of wear on the left and right sides of the cutting edge of the product of the present invention increased in accordance with the change in the total cutting length.
When the total cutting length at which this test was completed reached 20 m, the amount of wear on the left ridge was about 250 μm, and the amount of wear on the right ridge was about 350 μm.
In addition, as shown in FIGS. 8 to 12, the burned state of the cutting edge showed some seizure marks on the cutting edge portion of the cutting edge, but the cutting edge portion was not chipped.
On the other hand, the amount of wear of the comparative product was the same as that of the product of the present invention until the cutting length reached 5 m.
However, the amount of wear on the right side of the cutting edge exceeded 300 μm when the cutting length reached 2.5 m.
In addition, when the cutting length reached 5 m, chipping occurred at the cutting edge of the cutting edge, and the test was stopped at that point.
As shown in FIG. 15, in the state of the cutting edge of the comparative product when the cutting length reached 5 m in this test, chipping occurred from the cutting edge portion of the cutting edge to the right side surface.
From the above test results, the R chamfering at the cutting edge portion of the cutting edge of the surface broach is performed at 0.05 mm (50 μm) so that chipping of the cutting edge can be performed even at a high cutting speed of 20 m / min or more. And improved cutting performance.

The shape of the C chamfer of the comparative product was θ1 = θ2 = 30 ° and d1 = d2 = 0.43 mm shown in FIG. Further, the edge of the
Since the conditions of the cutting test of this embodiment were the same as those of the first embodiment, detailed description of the test conditions is omitted.
In this example, after the total cutting length reached 20 m, the state of the cutting edge of the product of the present invention and the comparative product was observed.
The state of the four cutting edges of the product of the present invention after the test is referred to as first to fourth cutting edges in order from the front side in the cutting direction in FIGS. 18 to 21, and the state of the four cutting edges of the comparative product is the cutting direction. FIGS. 22 to 25 show the first to fourth cutting edges in order from the front side.
Even when the cutting edge of the present invention reached a total cutting length of 20 m, although some seizure marks were observed on each cutting edge, chipping did not occur as shown in FIGS. 18 to 21.
However, in the comparative product, as shown in FIG. 24, when the total cutting length reached 20 m, occurrence of chipping was confirmed on the third cutting edge (third cutting edge) from the front side.
From the above test results, it can be confirmed that the chamfering shape on the side surface portion of the cutting edge of the surface broach is more effective when performing R chamfering than when performing C chamfering from the viewpoint of preventing chipping of the cutting edge.
Next, cutting tests were performed with variously changing the rake angle of the cutting edge of the surface broach, and the test results will be described.
The surface broach used in this example was the one shown in FIG. 1, and the rake angles of the cutting edges were 8 °, 5 °, and − (minus) 3 °, for a total of three levels.
Further, the cutting test of this example was performed according to the test conditions of the cutting test shown in Example 1.
Table 1 shows the configuration of the cutting edge, the test conditions, and the test results in the cutting test of this example.

In Table 1, the chamfer amount of the R-shaped ridge line portion is expressed as a side chamfer amount.
As shown in Table 1, even if the rake angle of the cutting edge is 8 ° (
When the total cutting length is 10 m, the wear amount of the cutting edge is less than 300 μm in all of the
From the above test results, it was found that the surface broach of the present invention prevented chipping of the cutting edge regardless of the size of the rake angle of the cutting edge even at a high speed cutting of 20 m / min.
Next, cutting tests were performed by changing the amount of Co contained in the cemented carbide cutting edge of the surface broach in various ways, and the test results will be described.
The surface broach used in the present embodiment was the one shown in FIG.
The Co content of the cutting edge (made of carbide) of the surface broach used in this example was a total of 13% by mass (inventive product), 12% by mass (comparative product 1), and 10% by mass (comparative product 2). There were three levels.
Further, the cutting test of this example was also performed according to the test conditions of the cutting test shown in Example 1 (however, the total cutting length was 10 m).
In this example, the same Co content (13% by mass) as the product of the present invention was used, but a surface broach (Comparative product 3) having a 100 μm (0.1 mm) R chamfered edge was also used. A cutting test was performed in the same manner. Table 2 shows the results of the cutting test of this example.
First, as shown in Table 2, the amount of Co contained in the cutting edge made of carbide was 13% by mass, and when the total cutting length reached 10 m, the wear amount of the present invention product was about 300 μm. .
However, as for the wear amount when the Co content was 10% by mass (Comparative product 1) and 12% by mass (Comparative product 2), cracks occurred on the side of the cutting edge during the test in
Furthermore, as shown in Table 2, the test result of the comparative product 3 in which the edge of the cutting edge was chamfered by 0.1 mm (100 μm) significantly exceeded 300 μm when the total cutting length was 10 m, as shown in Table 2.
From the above test results, by setting the amount of Co contained in the cutting edge of the surface broach to 13% by mass, the wear amount of the cutting edge when cutting the nickel-based alloy is reduced as compared with the case of 12% by mass. That was confirmed.
In addition, it was also confirmed that the wear of the cutting edge was similarly suppressed by setting the R chamfer amount of the cutting edge portion of the cutting edge to less than 100 μm.
