Description
このデータ変換部300は、
画像データをRGBタイプからRGBGタイプも変換する第1変換部310と、
RGBGタイプからYCbCrYタイプにさらに変換して、データ圧縮を行う第2変換部320と、
YCbCrYタイプからRGBGタイプに戻す第3変換部330と、を備える。
この際、数式1及び数式2のような演算を行う。
この際、Cb及びCrについては、本願図5における、A1領域からのものと、A2領域からのものとのうち、一方だけを用いる。輝度データYは、A1領域及びA2領域の両方のものを用いる。
図8の例では、2つの単位画素分のデータから、一つの単位画素分のデータに圧縮している。
図9の例では、4つの単位画素分のデータから、一つの単位画素分のデータに圧縮している。

Claims (13)
- 外部から供給される第1タイプの第1データを用いて前記第1タイプと異なる第2タイプの第2データを生成し、前記第2データを用いて前記第1及び第2タイプと異なる第3タイプの第3データを生成するデータ変換部と、
複数の単位画素を用いて、前記データ変換部から出力されるデータに対応する映像を表示する表示部と、を含み、
前記複数の単位画素のそれぞれは、第1列上に配置された第1サブ画素と第2サブ画素、及び前記第1列と平行な第2列上に配置された第3サブ画素を含み、
前記データ変換部は、前記第1〜第3サブ画素の配列に応じて前記第2データを生成することを特徴とする有機発光表示装置。 - 前記データ変換部は、前記第1データを用いて前記第2データを生成する第1変換部を含み、
前記第1データはRGBタイプで、前記第2データはRGBGタイプであることを特徴とする請求項1に記載の有機発光表示装置。 - 前記第1サブ画素は第1色を表し、前記第2サブ画素は前記第1色と異なる第2色を表し、前記第3サブ画素は前記第1色及び前記第2色と異なる第3色を表すことを特徴とする請求項2に記載の有機発光表示装置。
- 前記データ変換部は、前記第2データを用いて前記第3データを生成する第2変換部をさらに含み、前記第3データはYCbCrYタイプであることを特徴とする請求項3に記載の有機発光表示装置。
- 前記第3データは、輝度情報とクロマ(chroma)情報を含むことを特徴とする請求項4に記載の有機発光表示装置。
- 前記第2データが赤色データ、第1緑色データ、青色データ及び第2緑色データを含む場合、前記第2変換部は、
前記赤色データ、前記青色データ及び前記第1緑色データを用いて、第1輝度情報、第1青色クロマ情報、第1赤色クロマ情報を生成することを特徴とする請求項5に記載の有機発光表示装置。 - 前記第2変換部は、前記赤色データ、前記青色データ及び前記第2緑色データを用いて、第2輝度情報、第2青色クロマ情報、第2赤色クロマ情報を生成することを特徴とする請求項6に記載の有機発光表示装置。
- 前記第3データは、
前記第1輝度情報及び前記第2輝度情報を含み、
前記第1青色クロマ情報及び前記第2青色クロマ情報の何れか1つを含み、
前記第1赤色クロマ情報及び前記第2赤色クロマ情報の何れか1つを含むことを特徴とする請求項8に記載の有機発光表示装置。 - 前記データ変換部は、前記第3データを用いて第4データを生成する第3変換部をさらに含み、
前記第4データはRGBGタイプであることを特徴とする請求項10に記載の有機発光表示装置。 - 前記第3変換部は、前記第3データに含まれた青色クロマ情報及び赤色クロマ情報に応じて前記第4データを生成することを特徴とする請求項11に記載の有機発光表示装置。
- 前記第2変換部は、
前記複数の単位画素のうち何れか1つである第1単位画素に対応する第3データと、前記第1単位画素と隣接して位置する少なくとも1つ以上の第2単位画素に対応する第3データを圧縮した圧縮データを生成することを特徴とする請求項10に記載の有機発光表示装置。
