Abstract
Description
The present invention relates to an evaluation apparatus and an evaluation method for evaluating characteristics of a film-like body.
Evaluation apparatuses for evaluating the characteristics of samples have become widespread. As such an evaluation apparatus, an apparatus using electromagnetic waves is known because damage is small even if the sample is irradiated.
The evaluation apparatus described in
By the way, the degree of electromagnetic wave absorption by the sample depends on the distance that the electromagnetic wave passes through the sample and the absorption coefficient of the sample. When the distance through which the electromagnetic wave passes through the sample is small, the electromagnetic wave absorbed by the sample is reduced. In this case, the difference between the two current waveforms described above is reduced.
Therefore, in a sample having a small thickness such as a film-like body, the transmission distance of electromagnetic waves is small, so that the difference between the two current waveforms described above is also small. For this reason, the apparatus described in
This invention is made | formed in view of such a subject, The objective is to provide the evaluation apparatus and the evaluation method which can evaluate the characteristic of a film-like body with high precision.
One embodiment of the present invention is an evaluation apparatus for evaluating the characteristics of a film-like body, and includes a transmitter that transmits electromagnetic waves, a receiver that receives electromagnetic waves transmitted by the transmitter, and a transmitter and a receiver. And a waveguide member having a waveguide for guiding the electromagnetic wave transmitted from the transmitting part to the receiving part side, and performing a predetermined calculation based on the electromagnetic wave received by the receiving part. And an arithmetic unit for deriving. The waveguide member has a pair of reflecting surfaces that reflect electromagnetic waves. The pair of reflecting surfaces form a waveguide by facing each other with a gap in a predetermined direction. The waveguide has, in part, a film-like body placement portion that places the film-like body so that the thickness direction does not intersect the predetermined direction.
According to the above configuration, the electromagnetic wave emitted from the transmission unit is guided to the reception unit while being reflected between the pair of reflection surfaces. The film-like body is arranged so that its thickness direction is not orthogonal to the predetermined direction. For this reason, electromagnetic waves permeate | transmit a film-like body in the thickness direction in multiple times. As a result, it is possible to increase the transmission distance of the electromagnetic wave in the film-like body and accurately evaluate the characteristics of the film-like body.
Another embodiment of the present invention is a method for evaluating the characteristics of a film-like body, and includes a first step of disposing a transmitter that transmits an electromagnetic wave and a receiver that receives the electromagnetic wave transmitted by the transmitter. The second step of arranging the film-like body between the transmitter and the receiver, and the electromagnetic wave transmitted by the transmitter is reflected, so that the film-like body transmits the electromagnetic wave multiple times in the thickness direction. A third process and a fourth process for deriving the characteristics of the film-like body by performing a predetermined calculation based on the electromagnetic wave received by the receiving unit.
According to the above method, the electromagnetic wave emitted from the transmitter transmits the film-like body a plurality of times in the thickness direction. As a result, it is possible to increase the transmission distance of the electromagnetic wave in the film-like body and accurately evaluate the characteristics of the film-like body.
ADVANTAGE OF THE INVENTION According to this invention, the evaluation apparatus and evaluation method which can evaluate the characteristic of a membranous body with high precision can be provided.
Hereinafter, embodiments of the present invention will be described with reference to the accompanying drawings. In order to facilitate the understanding of the description, the same constituent elements in the drawings will be denoted by the same reference numerals as much as possible, and redundant description will be omitted.
First, the outline | summary of the
The
The
The
In order to facilitate understanding, as shown in FIG. 1, the orthogonal coordinates in which the direction in which the
The calculation unit 7 is a device that derives the characteristics of the film-like body M. The computing unit 7 is connected to at least the receiving
The calculation unit 7 acquires the current waveform shown in FIG. FIG. 2 shows a change in current detected by the receiving
When the film-like body M is not disposed in the
On the other hand, when the film-like body M is disposed in the
The calculation unit 7 performs predetermined processing on each of the waveforms of such currents Er and Em. In detail, the calculating part 7 calculates each complex Fourier component of the waveform of electric current Er and Em, and calculates ratio of both. The ratio of both corresponds to the complex amplitude transmittance and is expressed as a function of the complex refractive index. Therefore, the calculation unit 7 can derive a complex refractive index, which is one of the optical characteristics of the film-like body M, based on the complex amplitude transmittance obtained in advance through experiments.
In the
Therefore, in the
As shown in FIGS. 3 and 4, the
The reflective surfaces 50 and 60 are smooth surfaces with few irregularities by polishing. Thereby, as will be described later, scattering when electromagnetic waves are reflected on the reflecting
The
The film-like body M is arranged in the film-like
The inlet
The outlet-
As shown in FIG. 5, the electromagnetic wave transmitted by the transmitter 2 (not shown in FIG. 5) first enters the
Further, as described above, the inlet
Next, the electromagnetic wave that has passed through the
In the
As indicated by an arrow A2, the electromagnetic wave is repeatedly reflected at the
The electromagnetic wave that has passed through the film-like
Generally, when an apex angle is formed at the end of a waveguide, electromagnetic wave diffraction occurs at the apex angle. As a result, the electromagnetic wave diffuses from the end of the waveguide, and the electromagnetic wave that can be received by the receiving
In the
Next, the effect which the
According to the configuration of the
The pair of reflection surfaces 50 and 60 are flat surfaces. According to this configuration, reflection can be performed between the pair of reflecting
By the way, the smaller the dimension d of the film-like
Therefore, in the
Further, the reflecting
Further, the inlet
Further, the reflecting
The embodiments described above are for facilitating the understanding of the present invention, and are not intended to limit the present invention. Each element included in the embodiment and its arrangement, material, condition, shape, size, and the like are not limited to those illustrated, and can be changed as appropriate. In addition, the structures shown in different embodiments can be partially replaced or combined.
In the above embodiment, the opposing surfaces of the
