Abstract
Description
The present invention relates to a gas-liquid separator and an engine coolant degassing structure including the gas-liquid separator.
The cooling path for cooling the engine body removes heat from the engine by circulating the coolant between the engine and the surrounding high temperature parts. Furthermore, the cooling fluid which stored the heat is passed through the radiator to dissipate the heat, and the dissipated cooling fluid is returned to the cooling path.
For example, when a turbocharger is provided in the cooling path, and the turbocharger is cooled by the cooling path, surface boiling occurs locally at particularly high temperatures around the exhaust port of the turbine housing and the cylinder head. Arise. At this time, since it is necessary to take out water vapor bubbles generated by boiling from the cooling path to the outside, the gas that separates the gas in the cooling liquid from the liquid and opens the gas to the atmosphere at the highest position in the engine and the cooling path An extraction mechanism has been provided.
For example, Patent Document 1 discloses a configuration in which a cylindrical gas-liquid separation chamber that separates gas by generating a swirling flow is provided on a cooling path.
However, in the thing of patent document 1, in order to improve the gas-liquid separation function of a gas-liquid separation chamber, it will be necessary to generate a big swirl flow, and there exists a possibility that an apparatus may become large.
Therefore, the present invention provides a gas-liquid separator that is compact and enables efficient gas-liquid separation, and an engine coolant degassing structure including such a gas-liquid separator.
In order to achieve the above object, in the present invention, the gas-liquid separator provided on the cooling path has a multi-layer structure, and the gas release portion is provided at the highest position.
That is, the gas-liquid separator according to the first technique disclosed herein is a gas-liquid separator provided on the cooling path of the engine coolant, and the gas-liquid separator body and the gas-liquid separator body An inlet through which the engine coolant flows, and an outlet through the gas-liquid separator body that is spaced apart from the inlet and through which the engine coolant flows. The gas-liquid separator main body has a first introduction path, a first chamber in which a part of the engine coolant flowing in from the inlet is guided through the first introduction path, and adjacent to the first introduction path And a second chamber provided on the upper side of the first chamber, the other part of the engine coolant flowing in from the inlet is guided through the second introduction channel. And a gas release part provided on the upper side of the second chamber, The first chamber communicates with the outflow port, and the second chamber is provided apart from the second introduction path and has a lower communication hole communicating with the first chamber. Features.
Bubbles contained in the engine coolant flowing in from the inflow port are mostly included in the flow above the engine coolant due to the buoyancy. According to the first technique, since the inlet is provided below the gas-liquid separator main body and the second chamber is provided above the first chamber, the engine coolant flowing in from the inlet is provided. Among them, the lower flow that does not contain much air bubbles, that is, a part of the engine coolant flows into the lower first chamber through the first introduction path. And it flows out from a gas-liquid separator through the outflow port connected to the 1st chamber. On the other hand, of the engine coolant flowing in from the inflow port, the upper flow containing a lot of bubbles, that is, the other part of the engine coolant flows into the second chamber through the second introduction path. The other part of the engine coolant that has flowed into the second chamber flows toward the lower communication hole in the second chamber, and the bubbles contained in the engine coolant are buoyant to the second chamber. Ascend to the upper side of Thus, the bubbles accumulated on the upper side of the second chamber are released to the atmosphere from a gas release portion provided on the upper side of the second chamber. On the other hand, the lower flow of the other part of the engine coolant flowing into the second chamber flows into the first chamber through the lower communication hole with almost no bubbles, and then flows out from the gas-liquid separator through the outlet. To do. Thus, according to the present technology, it is possible to efficiently separate the gas and liquid with a compact device configuration by using the buoyancy acting on the bubbles.
According to a second technique, in the first technique, the capacity of the second chamber is larger than the capacity of the first chamber.
According to the second technique, by making the capacity of the second chamber larger than the capacity of the first chamber, the flow speed of the other part of the engine coolant flowing into the second chamber flows into the first chamber. It becomes slower than the speed of a part of engine coolant. As a result, bubbles contained in the other part of the engine coolant in the second chamber are sufficiently separated in the second chamber by the action of buoyancy and collected on the upper side of the second chamber. Thus, the gas-liquid separation function of the gas-liquid separator can be further improved.
According to a third technique, in the first or second technique, the gas release portion is provided above the second chamber in the gas-liquid separator main body, and has an upper communication hole communicating with the second chamber. A third chamber provided, and a gas vent provided in an upper end of the third chamber.
According to the third technique, the flow above the other part of the engine coolant in the second chamber contains a large amount of air bubbles and flows into the third chamber through the upper communication hole. Bubbles contained in the engine coolant flowing into the third chamber further accumulate on the upper side of the third chamber by the action of buoyancy. Thus, air bubbles are released from the gas opening provided at the upper end of the third chamber, and the efficiency of gas-liquid separation can be improved.
According to a fourth technique, in the third technique, the upper communication hole is disposed at a position closer to the lower communication hole than the inflow port in a plan view.
According to the fourth technique, by securing the distance from the second introduction path to the upper communication hole and the lower communication hole, the other part of the engine coolant flowing into the second chamber through the second introduction path is It takes a sufficient time to flow to the communication hole and the lower communication hole. Thus, bubbles can be collected on the upper side of the second chamber, and the gas and liquid can be sufficiently separated in the second chamber.
According to a fifth technique, in the third or fourth technique, an opening area of the upper communication hole is larger than an opening area of the lower communication hole.
According to the fifth technique, by making the opening area of the upper communication hole larger than the opening area of the lower communication hole, among the other parts of the engine coolant in the second chamber, the upper flow containing a large amount of bubbles is generated. It is possible to prevent the lower flow from flowing into the first chamber through the lower communication hole. Thus, it is possible to prevent bubbles from entering the first chamber.
According to a sixth technique, in any one of the third to fifth techniques, the gas vent hole of the gas release portion is provided at a position separated from the upper communication hole in a plan view.
According to the sixth technique, by arranging the gas vent hole at a position away from the upper communication hole in a plan view, it is possible to secure a time for bubbles to accumulate in the upper portion of the third chamber due to buoyancy. More bubbles can be stored in three chambers.
According to a seventh technique, in any one of the third to sixth techniques, the upper communication hole and the lower communication hole are arranged at a position offset with respect to the outlet in a plan view. Yes.
According to the seventh technique, the upper communication hole and the lower communication hole are arranged at positions shifted from the outlet in the plan view, so that the second chamber flows into the first chamber through the lower communication hole. It is possible to prevent the flow of the engine coolant from being accelerated by the flow of the engine coolant flowing out of the gas-liquid separator through the outlet from the first chamber. Then, it is possible to prevent the flow of the engine coolant flowing from the second chamber into the third chamber through the upper communication hole from being accelerated by the flow of the engine coolant flowing into the first chamber through the lower communication hole. it can. Thus, the gas-liquid separation function of the gas-liquid separator can be enhanced.
In an eighth technique according to any one of the first to seventh techniques, the gas-liquid separator main body is provided with the inlet and the outlet and accommodates the first chamber and the second chamber. A container that is disposed at an upper end of the container and that forms an upper portion of the third chamber, a first partition member that partitions the first chamber and the second chamber, and the second chamber And a second partition member for partitioning the third chamber, the first partition member is provided with a protruding portion that protrudes toward the inflow port, and the first introduction path includes the first introduction path, The tip of the protrusion, the inner wall of the container, and a part of the edge of the inlet, and the second introduction path is the rest of the edge of the protrusion, the inner wall of the container, and the edge of the inlet The part is formed.
According to the eighth technique, since the first partition member is provided with the protruding portion, the engine coolant flowing in from the inlet is smoothly divided into the first chamber side and the second chamber side by the protruding portion. The Thus, gas-liquid separation can be performed efficiently.
A ninth technique is any one of the first to eighth techniques, wherein an inclined portion that is inclined with respect to a horizontal direction is provided below the gas-liquid separator body, and the inlet is And an inflow port for guiding engine coolant to the inflow port is connected to the inflow port, and the inflow port is formed perpendicular to the incline portion. Has been.
According to the ninth technique, the inflow port is provided in the inclined portion of the container and the inflow port is provided perpendicular to the inclined portion, so that the engine coolant is inclined with respect to the container. It comes in from below. Then, bubbles can be effectively collected in the upper flow of the engine coolant. As a result, a lower flow that does not contain much bubbles is allowed to flow into the first chamber, and an upper flow that contains a large amount of bubbles is allowed to flow into the second chamber, so that gas-liquid separation can be performed efficiently.
The engine coolant degassing structure according to the tenth technology disclosed herein is an engine coolant degassing structure including the gas-liquid separator according to any one of the first to ninth technologies. The inlet is connected to a water pump provided on the cooling path via an inflow path, and the outlet is connected to an upper end of a radiator provided on the cooling path via an outflow path. The upper end of the radiator and the outflow path are arranged at the same height as the first chamber of the gas-liquid separator or at a position lower than the first chamber.
According to the tenth technique, by using a configuration in which the gas-liquid cooler is provided at a position higher than the upper ends of the water pump and the radiator on the cooling path, bubbles generated on the cooling path are efficiently used by using buoyancy. Can be removed.
In an eleventh technology according to the tenth technology, the gas-liquid separator has an additional inlet provided in a position close to the inlet and higher than the inlet and lower than the gas opening. The additional inlet is connected to a turbocharger provided on the cooling path via an additional inflow path, and the gas-liquid separator body flows in from the additional inlet. A guide member for guiding the engine coolant to the second introduction path of the second chamber.
If the engine coolant sent from the turbocharger directly flows into the second chamber, the flow of the engine coolant in the second chamber becomes faster, and the gas-liquid separation function in the second chamber may be impaired. According to the eleventh technique, by guiding the engine coolant to the second introduction path by the guide member, an excessive increase in the flow rate of the engine coolant in the second chamber is suppressed and the gas-liquid separator of the gas-liquid separator is suppressed. The function can be maintained.
As described above, according to the present disclosure, in the gas-liquid separator provided on the cooling path of the engine coolant and the engine coolant degassing structure including the gas-liquid separator, the buoyancy acting on the bubbles is used. Thus, the gas and liquid can be efficiently separated with a compact apparatus configuration.
Hereinafter, embodiments of the present invention will be described in detail with reference to the drawings. The following description of the preferred embodiments is merely exemplary in nature and is in no way intended to limit the invention, its application, or its application.
(Embodiment 1)
<Engine cooling path>
For example, a multi-cylinder engine or the like (hereinafter referred to as engine E) mounted on an automobile or the like is provided with a cooling path C for suppressing overheating of the engine E.
Although not shown, the engine E includes a cylinder block and a cylinder head that form an engine combustion chamber, an exhaust path that guides exhaust gas discharged from the engine combustion chamber, and the like. On the exhaust path, a turbocharger T that supercharges intake air using the energy of the exhaust gas to increase the output of the engine E, a catalyst device for purifying the exhaust gas, and the like are provided.
Engine parts such as the cylinder head, cylinder block, and turbocharger T are water-cooled, and a water jacket or a water gallery (hereinafter referred to as a water jacket or the like) for water cooling is provided around the parts.
The cooling path C includes a water pump W for forcibly circulating a coolant L (engine coolant) to the water jacket and the like through the piping, a pipe connecting the water jacket and the like, and the water jacket and the like. The radiator R etc. which cool the cooling liquid L which circulated through the jacket etc. and became high temperature are comprised.
<Cooling liquid flow>
The flow of the coolant L in the cooling path C will be described with reference to FIG. In FIG. 1, for the sake of simplicity, the illustration of the water jacket and the like on the cooling path C, the piping, the water pump W, and the turbocharger T is omitted. Moreover, in FIG. 1, the white arrow has shown the direction through which a coolant flows.
As shown by the arrow L1 in FIG. 1, the high-temperature coolant L that circulates in the water jacket or the like and flows into the water pump W passes through a first inflow path C1 (inflow path) to be described later. And then flows into the radiator R via the outflow path C2. The coolant L cooled by the heat radiation effect of the radiator R flows again into the water pump W through the discharge path C3 as indicated by the arrow L2, and is sent to the water jacket or the like.
The coolant L sent to the water jacket of the turbocharger T provided in the engine E is directly sent to the radiator R without going through the water pump W. That is, the cooling liquid L sent from the turbocharger T flows into the gas-
The turbocharger T provided in the engine E is provided at a relatively higher position than the radiator R arranged on the cooling path C. And the 2nd inflow path C4 connected to the water jacket etc. of the turbocharger T is arrange | positioned in the position higher than the upper end of the radiator R, as shown in FIG.
<About bubbles in the coolant>
The coolant L flowing into the water jacket or the like boils on the inner surface of the water jacket or the like particularly when the engine E is operated at a high load or when the coolant L is replaced during maintenance or inspection. Thereby, bubbles G are included in the cooling liquid L conveyed from the water jacket or the like to the radiator R.
The air bubbles G contained in the coolant L need to be removed from the coolant L before the radiator R flows in order to improve the cooling efficiency of the engine components and prevent deterioration.
<Cooling liquid venting structure>
In the engine E according to this embodiment, as described above, the turbocharger T is located higher than the radiator R. Therefore, for example, even if a gas venting mechanism is provided at the upper end of the radiator R, the bubbles G cannot be extracted well. Therefore, the engine E according to the present embodiment needs to be separated from the liquid portion of the coolant L at the highest position between the turbocharger T and the upper end of the radiator R.

As shown in FIGS. 2 and 4, the gas-
As shown in FIGS. 2 to 4, the gas-liquid separator
As shown in FIGS. 4 and 5, an

As shown in FIGS. 5 to 7, a

In other words, the
On the other hand, the upper part of the
As shown in FIG. 5, the
As shown by broken lines and solid lines in FIGS. 7 and 8, a main flow chamber introduction path 110 (first introduction path) is formed by the tip of the
Further, as shown by broken lines and solid lines in FIGS. 7 and 8, the remaining portion of the tip of the projecting
Here, as described above, the
Then, as shown in FIG. 8, a large amount of bubbles contained in the coolant L flowing in from the
And the cooling liquid L which flowed in from the
Although the
As shown in FIGS. 1, 5, 9, and 10, the
As shown in FIG. 1, the upper end of the radiator R and the outflow path C <b> 2 are arranged at the same height as the
As shown in FIGS. 6, 7, 11, and 12, the
Moreover, the
As shown in FIG. 8, the upper portion LG <b> 1 containing a large amount of bubbles G that have flowed into the
Note that the capacity of the
As shown in FIG. 15, the
By disposing the
In the present embodiment, the entire opening of the
Moreover, although the shape of the lower
Further, the opening area of the
Further, as shown in FIG. 9, the
First, in FIG. 9, the distance Q2-Q3 between the points Q2 and Q3 at both ends of the
As described above, the
As shown in FIG. 9, in the present embodiment, the point P closest to the point Q3 is overlapped among the opening edges of the
In addition, as shown in FIGS. 11, 12, and 14, the
Next, as shown in FIGS. 2, 3, 4, and 7, the
The cooling liquid L that has flowed into the
As shown in FIGS. 7, 11 and 12, the
Moreover, the
When the high-temperature coolant L3 from the turbocharger T provided at a position relatively higher than the upper end of the radiator R directly flows into the
As shown in FIGS. 11 and 13,

The gas-
