Abstract
Description
The present invention relates to a NOx sensor diagnostic apparatus for an internal combustion engine.
The internal combustion engine is provided with a NOx sensor for detecting the NOx concentration contained in the exhaust gas. This NOx sensor needs to be periodically diagnosed because it needs to maintain its accuracy in order to detect the presence or absence of a failure at an early stage. On the other hand, during the operation of the internal combustion engine, the exhaust gas temperature fluctuates due to fluctuations in the load of the internal combustion engine, etc., so the diagnosis conditions tend to become unstable. Therefore, it is difficult to ensure the accuracy of the NOx sensor diagnosis during operation of the internal combustion engine.
Therefore, in Patent Document 1, when the internal combustion engine is in the normal operation mode, the detected NOx concentration has a predetermined relationship with respect to the tracking pattern when the exhaust flow rate has a predetermined relationship with respect to the reference pattern. By determining whether or not, the responsiveness of the NOx sensor is determined.
However, since the thing of patent document 1 is determined supposing environment, conditions, etc. in order to determine responsiveness, the structure which judges whether environment, conditions, etc. are satisfied is complicated.
The present invention has been made in view of the above circumstances, and an object thereof is to provide a NOx sensor diagnostic device for an internal combustion engine that can be diagnosed with a simple configuration.
According to the first aspect of the present invention, the diagnostic unit (57), when the predetermined diagnostic timing at which the internal combustion engine (10) is controlled to rotate at the specified rotational speed comes, is the load increasing unit (22). To increase the load on the internal combustion engine. Then, since the rotational speed of the internal combustion engine decreases as the load on the internal combustion engine increases, control is performed to increase the fuel injection amount so that the rotational speed of the internal combustion engine becomes the specified rotational speed. As a result, the concentration of NOx contained in the exhaust from the internal combustion engine increases. In this case, when the NOx sensor is abnormal, the value detected by the NOx sensor (25) is different from that when the NOx sensor (25) is normal. Therefore, the diagnosis unit (57) is based on the value detected by the NOx sensor (25). Can be diagnosed.
(First embodiment)
1st Embodiment which applied this invention to the engine control apparatus of the diesel engine is described with reference to FIG.1 and FIG.2.
As shown in FIG. 1, the diesel engine system is composed mainly of an engine body 10 (corresponding to an internal combustion engine), a

A
An exhaust throttle 22 (corresponding to a load increasing portion) is provided in the

The

The injection
The
The
The idle speed is set to a low speed in order to suppress the fuel consumption as much as possible. For this reason, for example, when the engine speed is lower than the idle speed due to the influence of the external environment, the engine
It should be noted that even when the accelerator operation is released and the engine brake is functioning while the vehicle is running, the engine speed is controlled to become the idle speed. Since the
The
The
As shown in FIG. 3, the
Now, as described above, when the exhaust brake operates normally, the engine speed may greatly decrease from the predetermined idle speed and the
The
Here, in the state where the exhaust brake is activated and the fuel injection amount is increased as described above, the NOx concentration contained in the exhaust gas increases compared to the idle state, so that the
With the operation as described above, the
The operation time of the exhaust brake is a time that sufficiently considers the time from the diagnosis of the exhaust brake to the end of the diagnosis of the
According to such an embodiment, the following effects can be produced.
The

Since the
(Second Embodiment)
The second embodiment will be described with reference to FIG. 4. The same steps as those in the first embodiment are denoted by the same steps, and the description thereof is omitted. The second embodiment is characterized in that the fuel injection amount is further increased when the fuel injection amount is increased by the operation of the exhaust brake.
In the first embodiment, when the
Under such circumstances, the
Specifically, the
The
When the
According to such an embodiment, a plurality of diagnostic patterns with different fuel injection amounts are prepared, and detection by the

The present invention is not limited to the above embodiment, and can be modified or expanded as follows.
As a means for increasing the amount of injected fuel in the idle state, a resistance member similar to the exhaust throttle is provided, or a mechanical resistance force is directly applied to the rotation of the
