Abstract
Description
The present invention relates to a capacitor deterioration diagnosis technique, and more particularly to a capacitor deterioration diagnosis technique for smoothing DC power supplied to an inverter.
The inverter is a power conversion device that converts DC power supplied from a DC power source such as a battery into AC power and supplies the AC power to a load such as an electric motor. In order to smooth the DC power applied to the inverter, a capacitor (hereinafter referred to as “smoothing capacitor”) is connected in parallel to the inverter as viewed from the DC power source. When the smoothing capacitor deteriorates (specifically, the capacitance decreases), the ripple of the DC power supplied to the inverter increases, which may hinder the normal operation of the inverter. Therefore, various techniques for diagnosing deterioration of the smoothing capacitor have been proposed.
However, according to the techniques described in
The discharge time is easily affected by the external environment (for example, ambient temperature), and when the degradation diagnosis is performed in an environment where the ambient temperature is extremely high (low), the degradation diagnosis is performed under normal temperature conditions (for example, room temperature). There is a possibility that a different discharge time may be measured.
Further, when a power regeneration device is provided in addition to the power conversion device that drives the electric motor, the voltage between the electrode plates of the capacitor may fluctuate due to the influence of the regeneration current or the like. If the fluctuation of the voltage between the electrode plates occurs at the discharge start time, the voltage between the electrode plates of the capacitor at the discharge start time deviates from the battery voltage (Patent Document 1) or the boosting completion level (Patent Document 2). .
FIG. 5 is a diagram showing the discharge characteristics of the capacitor. In FIG. 5, the vertical axis indicates the voltage between the capacitor plates when the reference voltage value is 100, and the horizontal axis indicates time. In the example shown in FIG. 5, the voltage between the electrode plates of the capacitor at
As described above, in the aspect in which the capacitor deterioration diagnosis is performed based on the discharge time, the capacitor deterioration may not be accurately diagnosed.
The present invention has been made in view of the above circumstances, and is capable of low-cost degradation diagnosis of capacitors connected in parallel to an inverter that converts DC power supplied from a DC power source into AC power and outputs the AC power to a load. And it aims at providing the technique implement | achieved with high precision.
In order to solve the above problems, the present invention is a method for diagnosing deterioration of a capacitor connected in parallel to an inverter main circuit that converts DC power supplied from a DC power source into AC power and outputs the AC power to a load. A first step of discharging the capacitor until the voltage between the electrode plates reaches a predetermined value; and a second step of calculating the capacitance of the capacitor based on the amount of change in the voltage between the electrode plates when the capacitor is discharged. A method for diagnosing deterioration of a capacitor is provided.
For example, when the load is an electric motor, that is, when the present invention is applied to the deterioration diagnosis of a capacitor connected in parallel to an inverter that drives the electric motor, in the first step, the AC current supplied from the inverter main circuit to the electric motor is The capacitor is discharged while the q-axis component is set to zero. In this case, an alternating current having only a d-axis component (d-axis current) is output to the electric motor. Most of the alternating current (d-axis current) flowing to the motor is consumed as Joule heat in the winding resistance of the stator winding of the motor. This is because no torque is generated because there is no q-axis component. The amount of change in the electrostatic energy of the capacitor accompanying the electric power consumed as the Joule heat and the discharge is almost equal. The amount of change in the electrostatic energy of the capacitor is calculated based on the amount of change in the voltage between the electrode plates of the capacitor and the capacitance of the capacitor. Therefore, if the value of the power consumption in the stator winding is obtained, the capacitance of the capacitor can be calculated using the amount of change in the voltage between the plates. Then, by comparing the capacity calculated in this way with, for example, the capacity of an undegraded capacitor measured in advance, the deterioration of the capacitor can be diagnosed.
Further, the capacitance of the capacitor may be calculated by regarding the electric power calculated based on the current flowing from the capacitor to the inverter main circuit and the voltage between the plates of the capacitor as the amount of change in electrostatic energy. In this manner, the deterioration diagnosis of the capacitor connected in parallel to the inverter main circuit is performed not only when the load subject to drive control by the inverter main circuit is an electric motor but also when the load is a device other than the electric motor. It becomes possible to do. The same applies to the case of calculating the capacitance of the capacitor by regarding the electric power calculated based on the measured values of the current flowing into the load from the inverter main circuit and the voltage as the amount of change in electrostatic energy.
In any of the above aspects, the capacitance of the capacitor is calculated from the amount of change in the voltage between the electrode plates of the capacitor between the start time of the first step and the end time of the first step. Therefore, any value of the voltage between the capacitor plates at the discharge start time is not affected, and the accuracy of the capacitor deterioration diagnosis does not deteriorate. That is, according to the present invention, it is possible to perform deterioration diagnosis of a capacitor connected in parallel to an inverter that converts DC power supplied from a DC power supply into AC power and outputs it to a load with higher accuracy than before. .
Further, according to the present invention, it is not necessary to separately prepare a resistor for consuming the discharge current as in the technique described in
As described above, according to the present invention, it is possible to realize deterioration diagnosis of a capacitor with low cost and high accuracy.
<First Embodiment>
Embodiments of the present invention will be described below with reference to the drawings.
FIG. 1 is a circuit diagram showing a configuration of a
Capacitors 30_1 and 30_2 are smoothing capacitors for smoothing DC power output from the
The inverter
The
The
When the inverter
When the power supply from the
While the
The
On the other hand, the
In the equation (2), data indicating the threshold voltage Vth stored in advance in a storage unit (not shown) is used as the threshold voltage Vth. Further, as V0, the sample value of the first sample (sample at the discharge start time) of the voltage waveform sample string V received from the
The energy E corresponding to the voltage between the plates of the capacitors 30_1 and 30_2 that has changed along with the discharge is consumed by the load, other circuits, and the like. More specifically, a part of the electric power supplied to the electric motor M is converted into torque, and the rest is consumed as Joule heat. Only the q-axis component contributes to the generation of torque in the electric motor M, and the d-axis component does not contribute. In the present embodiment, switching control of the inverter
The
The
As described above, in the present embodiment, since only the d-axis current that does not contribute to the generation of torque of the motor M is output to the motor M, most of the alternating current (d-axis current) flowing to the motor is the winding resistance of the stator winding. Is consumed as Joule heat. Therefore, it is possible to calculate the capacitance of the smoothing capacitor by regarding the electric power consumed as Joule heat as the amount of change in the electrostatic energy of the capacitor in the equation (2). Then, by determining the deterioration based on the capacity thus calculated, it is possible to perform the deterioration diagnosis of the smoothing capacitor with high accuracy.
Further, as shown in the equation (1), the capacitance C of the capacitors 30_1 and 30_2 is calculated from the voltage between the plates of the capacitors 30_1 and 30_2 between the discharge start time and the time when the threshold voltage Vth is reached. Therefore, any value of the voltage between the electrodes 30_1 and 30_2 at the discharge start time will not be affected by the deterioration diagnosis accuracy of the capacitor.
Further, according to the present embodiment, it is not necessary to separately prepare a resistor for consuming the discharge current as in the technique described in
As described above, according to the present embodiment, it is possible to realize capacitor deterioration diagnosis with high accuracy and low cost.
In addition, according to the present embodiment, the power consumption in the winding resistance is calculated by a simple calculation as shown in Equation (3). For this reason, it is possible to reduce the processing load applied to the
Further, according to the present embodiment, the time required for the deterioration diagnosis can be shortened by setting the threshold voltage Vth to a value close to the battery voltage and shortening the discharge period of the capacitor. In this case, however, a digit loss may occur during the calculation of the denominator of the right side of equation (2). Therefore, it is desirable to set the threshold voltage Vth to a suitable value according to the accuracy and time of deterioration diagnosis. In the above embodiment, the capacitors 30_1 and 30_2 are discharged until the voltage between the plates of the capacitors 30_1 and 30_2 reaches a predetermined threshold voltage Vth. However, the capacitors 30_1 and 30_2 are discharged over a predetermined time. The capacitance C of the capacitors 30_1 and 30_2 may be obtained from the voltage between the electrode plates at the start of discharge, the voltage between the electrode plates after a certain time has elapsed, and the power consumption of the winding resistance during the certain time.
In addition, according to the present embodiment, it is possible to detect not only the deterioration of the capacitor but also the falling off of the capacitor from the circuit board and the contact failure.

According to the present embodiment, it is possible to calculate the capacity of the smoothing capacitor without including an error corresponding to the variation of the winding resistance value of the stator winding.

Strictly speaking, in the above embodiment, the change in electrostatic energy of the capacitors 30_1 and 30_2 at the time of discharging is consumed as Joule heat by the winding resistance of the stator winding, and also as Joule heat in the inverter
According to the present embodiment, the change amount E of the electrostatic energy of the capacitors 30_1 and 30_2 at the time of discharging is corrected by the power consumption of the inverter
Second Embodiment
FIG. 3 is a circuit diagram showing a configuration of a power conversion device 1C according to the second embodiment of the present invention. As is well known, some power conversion devices detect current flowing from the battery into the power conversion device with a current detection sensor and execute processing according to the detection result. Below, it shows about 1C of power converter devices provided with the function suitable for this kind of power converter device.
As apparent from a comparison between FIG. 1 and FIG. 3, the
According to the present embodiment, since the capacity C (that is, the combined capacity of both) is calculated based on the current flowing from the
<Third Embodiment>
FIG. 4 is a circuit diagram showing a configuration of a
As is clear from a comparison between FIG. 1 and FIG. 4, the
According to the present embodiment, since the capacity of the smoothing capacitor is calculated based on the current flowing from the inverter
<Modification of Third Embodiment>
By the way, the technique shown in the third embodiment cannot be applied to a power converter that does not have a voltage detection sensor that detects a voltage applied to the motor M from the inverter. Therefore, in the following, an application example of the present invention to a power conversion device that does not have a voltage detection sensor that detects a voltage applied to the motor M from the inverter will be described.
According to this embodiment, even in a power conversion device that does not have a voltage detection sensor that detects a voltage applied from the inverter to the motor M, the deterioration of the capacitor can be diagnosed without providing the sensor separately. . Further, since the deterioration diagnosis can be performed in parallel with the control of the electric motor M, the deterioration diagnosis can be speeded up.
