Abstract
Description
The present invention relates to an exhaust emission control device for an internal combustion engine.
A selective reduction NOx catalyst (hereinafter simply referred to as “NOx catalyst”) that purifies NOx contained in exhaust gas from an internal combustion engine by using ammonia as a reducing agent is known. On the upstream side of the NOx catalyst, an addition valve for adding ammonia or an ammonia precursor to the exhaust is installed. Examples of the ammonia precursor include urea. Hereinafter, the precursor of ammonia or ammonia is also collectively referred to as “reducing agent”.
。 Here, in a configuration in which a filter is provided on the upstream side of the NOx catalyst, when particulate matter (hereinafter also referred to as PM) is collected in the filter, NO 2 in the exhaust gas is reduced to NO by this PM. Reduced to As a result, the appropriate amount of reducing agent supplied to the NOx catalyst in order to purify NOx changes. For this reason, a technique for adjusting the amount of reducing agent supplied to the NOx catalyst based on the amount of PM accumulated in the filter is known (see, for example, Patent Document 1).
Here, a filter carrying a NOx catalyst is known. In the filter carrying the NOx catalyst, the saturated adsorption amount of ammonia varies depending on the PM deposition amount in the filter partition wall (that is, in the pores formed in the partition wall), but the surface of the filter partition wall It turned out that it does not change according to the amount of PM deposited above. For this reason, even if the reducing agent supply amount is simply adjusted according to the PM deposition amount, the reducing agent supply amount may not be appropriate depending on the location where PM is deposited. On the other hand, an appropriate amount of reducing agent can be supplied by adjusting the amount of reducing agent supplied based on the amount of PM deposited in the filter wall, but it is difficult to determine the amount of PM deposited in the wall of the filter. Met.
Accordingly, an object of the present invention is to estimate the amount of PM accumulated in the wall of the filter and to adjust the amount of reducing agent supplied based on this amount of PM.
In order to solve the above-described problems, the present invention provides a reducing agent supply device that is provided in an exhaust passage of an internal combustion engine and supplies ammonia precursor or ammonia as a reducing agent into the exhaust passage, and downstream of the reducing agent supply device. Provided in the exhaust passage, which carries a selective reduction-type NOx catalyst that selectively reduces NOx with a reducing agent, collects particulate matter in the exhaust, pressure of the exhaust upstream of the filter, and the filter A corrected differential pressure acquisition unit that acquires a corrected differential pressure that is a value obtained by dividing a differential pressure that is a difference with the pressure of the exhaust on the downstream side by the flow rate of the exhaust; an amount of particulate matter that flows into the filter; and A total deposition amount estimation unit that estimates a total PM deposition amount that is a total amount of particulate matter deposited on the filter by integrating the amount of particulate matter that decreases due to oxidation in the filter; The ratio of the amount of change in the corrected differential pressure to the amount of change in the total PM deposition during the accumulation of particulate matter in the filter partition without being oxidized is the first slope, and the particulate matter is oxidized. The ratio of the change amount of the corrected differential pressure to the change amount of the total PM deposition amount when the particulate matter is deposited on the surface of the partition wall of the filter is the second slope, and the total PM deposition amount is 0 Based on the total PM accumulation amount estimated by the total accumulation amount estimation unit and the correction differential pressure acquired by the correction differential pressure acquisition unit, using the corrected differential pressure of PM deposition amount = (corrected differential pressure−second slope / total PM deposited amount−reference corrected differential pressure) / (first slope−second slope) / the amount of particulate matter deposited in the partition wall of the filter. A deposition amount estimation unit for estimating a PM deposition amount in a wall, and the deposition in the wall A reducing agent supply amount correction unit that corrects the reducing agent supply amount from the reducing agent supply device so that the reducing agent supply amount is smaller than when the amount of PM deposition in the wall estimated by the estimation unit is large; Is provided.
According to the present invention, the amount of PM accumulated in the wall of the filter can be estimated, and the amount of reducing agent supplied can be adjusted based on the amount of PM.

DESCRIPTION OF EMBODIMENTS Hereinafter, embodiments for carrying out the present invention will be exemplarily described in detail with reference to the drawings. However, the dimensions, materials, shapes, relative arrangements, and the like of the components described in this embodiment are not intended to limit the scope of the present invention only to those unless otherwise specified.

FIG. 1 is a diagram showing a schematic configuration of an internal combustion engine according to the present embodiment and its intake system and exhaust system. The

An addition valve 4 that injects a reducing agent is provided in the

An intake passage 6 is connected to the
The
The ECU 10 can grasp the operating state of the
The

By the way, when PM is deposited on the
Here, even if the reducing agent supply amount does not change, the total amount of ammonia adsorbed on the NOx catalyst 31 (hereinafter also referred to as the total ammonia adsorption amount) increases due to the increase in the saturated adsorption amount. However, when the total ammonia adsorption amount increases, when the catalyst temperature rises, the ammonia amount desorbed from the
Here, FIG. 5 shows the total ammonia adsorption amount of the
As shown in FIG. 5, when PM is not deposited on the
When the temperature of the

The case where PM is deposited in the partition wall is equal to the case where PM is not deposited on the
Next, FIG. 9 is a diagram showing the relationship between the total amount of PM deposition (hereinafter also referred to as total PM deposition amount) in the
FIG. 10 is a diagram showing the relationship between the total PM accumulation amount in the
9 and 10 show a case where the deposited PM does not decrease due to oxidation. In this case, since the total PM deposition amount corresponding to the corrected differential pressure can be uniquely determined, the in-wall PM deposition amount can be determined from the detected corrected differential pressure according to the relationship of FIG. The reducing agent supply amount can be adjusted according to the amount of PM deposition in the wall. However, depending on the operating state of the
The estimated PM accumulation amount is obtained without using the detection value of the

Here, when only the PM accumulated in the partition wall of the
In summary, when the estimated PM deposition amount at the present time is E1 and the current corrected differential pressure is F1, the PM deposition amount in the wall at the current time can be obtained by the following equation (1). .
PM deposition amount in the wall = (F1-B1 · E1-C1) / (A1-B1) (1)
In FIG. 11, “A1”, “B1”, and “C1” are values that can be obtained in advance and are held in a memory provided in the
Here, the saturated adsorption amount has a correlation with the amount of PM deposition in the wall. Therefore, if the amount of PM deposition in the wall can be obtained accurately, the saturated adsorption amount at that time can be obtained more accurately. When the saturated adsorption amount increases, as described with reference to FIGS. 7 and 8, when the catalyst temperature changes from a low temperature to a high temperature, the outflow ammonia concentration may increase. In this embodiment, therefore, the reducing agent supply amount is corrected using the correction coefficient so that the reducing agent supply amount becomes smaller when the in-wall PM accumulation amount is larger than when it is small. Thereby, the amount of ammonia desorbed from the
Here, when the amount of PM deposition in the wall is large, the amount of ammonia adsorbed on the
FIG. 12 is a diagram showing the relationship among the PM deposition amount in the wall, the catalyst temperature, and the correction coefficient for correcting the ammonia desorption amount. The correction coefficient is a value greater than 0 and 1 or less. The correction coefficient is decreased as the PM deposition amount in the wall increases, and the correction coefficient is decreased as the catalyst temperature decreases. This relationship is obtained in advance by experiments or simulations.

FIG. 15 is a diagram showing the correction coefficient, the total ammonia adsorption amount, the NOx purification rate in the
