Abstract
Description
しかし、ガソリン直噴システムの場合、燃料の高圧噴射が行われるため、燃焼室内の壁面とピストンの上部に燃料の液膜が形成され、これと同時に不均一な空気と燃料の混合気により不完全燃焼を起こすので、粒子状物質が排出される。
このような粒子状物質は、人体の内部に呼吸器を通じて浸透して気管支炎、肺気腫などの炎症反応を引き起こすことがあり、特に発癌物質を含んでいるという研究結果が発表されることにより、ヨーロッパの自動車排出ガス規制であるEuro5からディーゼル車両の粒子状物質排出量を規制し始め、Euro6−c規制からはガソリン車両に対しても排出量(6x1011N/km)の規制を開始する予定がある。これにより、既存のガソリン直噴車両の場合、Euro6−c規制を満足し難い程度の粒子状物質が排出されるため、該当規制に対応するためにガソリン煤煙低減装置(GPF:Gasoline Particulate Filter)の装着の検討がなされている。
しかし、GPFの装着のためには既存の排気システムの変更が要求されるので、GPF装着による車両の原価上昇が発生するという問題がある。
本発明のマフラー統合型煤煙低減装置はフィルター1、隔壁部5から構成されている。
図1〜図3に示す通り、フィルター1は、入口の塞がれた第1チャンネル1aと出口の塞がれた第2チャンネル1bとが交互に多数配置され、各チャンネルをなす壁面に排気ガスが通過しながら煤煙粒子を捕集するように構成される。
例えば、第1チャンネル1aと第2チャンネル1bはハニカム形状で交互に配置され、第1チャンネル1aの入口と第2チャンネル1bの出口がプラグによって塞がれる。
特に、第1チャンネル1aと第2チャンネル1bをなす壁面に、気孔の形成された濾過部3を設けることにより、濾過部3を通じて排気ガスが通過できる。
例えば、第1チャンネル1aを通じてフィルター1内に排気ガスが流入すると、排気ガスが第2チャンネル1bと第1チャンネル1aの壁面の濾過部3を通過して第2チャンネル1bに流入しながら、濾過部3の気孔に煤煙粒子(粒子状物質)が捕集され、煤煙粒子の濾された排気ガスは第2チャンネル1bを通じてフィルター1から抜け出す。そして、煤煙粒子の捕集によりフィルター1が詰まるリスクを防止するために、GPFの周期的な再生が必要である。
例えば、第1チャンネル1aと第2チャンネル1bの長さ方向に沿って濾過部3と隔壁部5が交互に配置できる。
特に、隔壁部5がなす通路D2の断面積は濾過部3がなす通路D1の断面積よりもさらに狭くてもよい。
前述した構成によれば、エンジンから排出される高温高圧の排気ガスが濾過部と隔壁部5の通路D1、D2を通過して移動するときに、排気ガスを段階的に膨張させるだけでなく、排気ガスが隔壁部5の通路D2に流入するときに、隔壁部5から生成された反射波の干渉によって、排気ガスが持つ進行波の音波を繰り返し減衰させることにより、排気ガスの放出による騒音が低減される。
併せて、本発明の場合、隔壁部5の入口側通路の断面は、隔壁部5の中間へ向かって傾くように形成して徐々に狭くなるよう形成できる。隔壁部5の出口側通路の断面は、隔壁部5の中間から傾くように形成して徐徐に広くなるよう形成できる。
また、隔壁部5がなす通路D2の断面と、濾過部3がなす通路D1の断面は少なくとも六角形に形成できる。
このとき、隔壁部5がなす通路D2の断面と、濾過部3がなす通路D1の断面とは同じ形状に形成できる。
このため、隔壁部5の入口側形状を排気ガスの流れ方向を基準として徐々にに狭くなる形状にし、出口側の形状を徐々に広くなる形状にし、隔壁部5の通路D2の形状を円形に近い多角形(6〜12角形)にすることにより、排気ガスの流れ抵抗を最小化させる。
例えば、入口の塞がれた第1チャンネル1aの断面は、排気ガスの流れ方向を基準に後端へ向かって徐々に広くなるよう形成することができ、出口の塞がれた第2チャンネル1bの断面は、排気ガスの流れ方向を基準に後端へ向かって徐々に狭くなるよう形成することができる。
上述したように、本発明は、煤煙低減装置固有のフィルター1機能だけでなく、フィルター1の内部に設けられた隔壁部5の構成変更によってマフラー機能向上を一緒に実現することにより、ガソリン煤煙低減装置装着による車両の原価上昇要因を防止する効果がある。

Claims (8)
- 入口の塞がれた第1チャンネルと出口の塞がれた第2チャンネルとが交互に配置され、各チャンネルをなす壁面に排気ガスが通過しながら煤煙粒子を捕集するフィルターと、
前記第1チャンネルと前記第2チャンネルの長さ方向に沿って内壁面に部分的に形成され、各チャンネルに沿って流動する排気ガスの騒音を減少させる隔壁部とを含んでなること特徴とするマフラー統合型煤煙低減装置。 - 前記隔壁部は、前記第1チャンネル及び前記第2チャンネルの中心に向けて突設されたことを特徴とする請求項1に記載のマフラー統合型煤煙低減装置。
- 各チャンネルをなす壁面には気孔が形成されて排気ガスが通過する濾過部が設けられ、
前記各チャンネルの長さ方向に沿って前記濾過部と前記隔壁部が交互に配置されることを特徴とする請求項2に記載のマフラー統合型煤煙低減装置。 - 前記隔壁部がなす通路の断面積は前記濾過部がなす通路の断面積よりも狭いことを特徴とする請求項3に記載のマフラー統合型煤煙低減装置。
- 前記隔壁部の入口側がなす通路の断面は前記隔壁部の中間側へ向かって徐々に小さくなるように形成され、
前記隔壁部の出口側がなす通路の断面は前記隔壁部の中間側から徐々に大きくなるように形成されることを特徴とする請求項3に記載のマフラー統合型煤煙低減装置。 - 前記隔壁部がなす通路の断面は少なくとも六角形に形成されることを特徴とする請求項5に記載のマフラー統合型煤煙低減装置。
- 前記隔壁部がなす通路の断面と、前記濾過部がなす通路の断面とは同じ形状に形成されることを特徴とする、請求項5に記載のマフラー統合型煤煙低減装置。
- 前記入口の塞がれた第1チャンネルの断面は後端へ向かって徐々に広くなるように形成され、
前記出口の塞がれた第2チャンネルの断面は後端へ向かって徐々に狭くなるように形成されることを特徴とする請求項1に記載のことを特徴とするマフラー統合型煤煙低減装置。
