Abstract
Description
The present invention relates to a water treatment cartridge and a shower head.
In general, tap water is used for showers provided in bathrooms, washstands, and the like. Tap water contains a lot of residual chlorine that causes damage to hair and skin. In view of this, shower heads with built-in cartridges filled with a purifying material (such as calcium sulfite) that can remove residual chlorine in tap water are widely used.
An example of such a shower head is a shower head in which a cartridge filled with a purifying material is incorporated in a head that jets water. Specifically, for example, a cartridge filled with a purification material such as calcium sulfite is built in the head, and a bypass flow path is formed in the head that passes through the outside of the cartridge. There is known a shower head that is jetted after being merged with water that has passed through a cartridge (
However, in recent years, a switching mechanism for switching a water ejection pattern, a water flow path, or the like is often built in the head of the shower head, and a space for housing a cartridge having a water purification function is secured. Is getting harder. Therefore, a cartridge having a water purification function is also incorporated in the grip of the shower head.
As the grip becomes thicker, it is difficult to hold and the operability of the shower head is reduced, so there is a limit to the thickness of the grip. Therefore, in the shower head in which the cartridge is built in the grip, the flow passage cross-sectional area is usually smaller than in the case where the cartridge is built in the head. For this reason, in order to use the same amount of the purification material as the case where the cartridge is built in the head when the cartridge is built in the grip, it is necessary to make the cartridge long. However, if a long cartridge is built in the grip and water is passed through the cartridge in the axial direction, pressure loss increases and it becomes difficult to ensure a sufficient amount of water flow.
Therefore, as a shower head with reduced pressure loss due to the cartridge, for example, a grip having a double cylindrical body having a second water passage is provided on the outer peripheral side of the first water passage, and purification is performed in the second water passage. A shower head filled with a material has been proposed (Patent Document 3). However, in the shower head, it is difficult to control the flow rates of the first water passage and the second water passage so that residual chlorine can be sufficiently removed while suppressing a decrease in pressure loss.
In addition, a cartridge including a cylindrical water purification material mainly composed of activated carbon is incorporated in the grip, and purified water flowing from the outer peripheral surface of the water purification material toward the inner peripheral surface is ejected from the head. A shower head is also known (Patent Document 4). In this shower head, even if it is a long cartridge, since the water flow path which passes a water quality purification material becomes short, pressure loss can be reduced. However, the shower head cartridge is difficult to manufacture because of its complicated structure.
It is an object of the present invention to provide a water treatment cartridge that can reduce pressure loss while ensuring sufficient water treatment performance, is easy to control and has a simple structure, and a shower head including the water treatment cartridge. .
The water treatment cartridge of the present invention comprises a cylindrical cartridge case that is longer in the axial direction than in the radial direction, and a water treatment layer formed by filling the cartridge case with a water treatment material, and the water treatment layer In addition, water flows from the side surface substantially parallel to the axial direction of the water treatment layer toward the opposite side.

In the present invention, a flow path that extends in the axial direction on the outer peripheral side of the water treatment layer and through which water before flowing into the water treatment layer flows, that is, a primary flow path that extends in the axial direction on the outer peripheral side of the water treatment layer. However, it is preferable that it becomes narrow as it goes ahead of this flow path. In this example, it is preferable that the

A function addition material may be used individually by 1 type, and may use 2 or more types together.

As described above, the water treatment cartridge of the present invention can reduce pressure loss while ensuring sufficient water treatment performance. Further, the water treatment cartridge of the present invention has a water treatment layer as compared with a cartridge in which water flows from the outer peripheral surface of the cylindrical purification material to the inner peripheral surface or from the inner peripheral surface to the outer peripheral surface. The structure for forming is simple. Further, the removal rate of residual chlorine, calcium ions, magnesium ions, etc. can be easily controlled by adjusting the length of the water treatment layer in the radial direction (length of the water passage).
The water treatment cartridge of the present invention has the above-described
For example, the shape of the body portion is not limited to a cylindrical shape, and may be appropriately determined according to the shape of the cartridge accommodating portion in the shower head, such as a quadrangular prism shape. In addition, in order to determine the direction of the water treatment cartridge when accommodated in the shower head, the cross-sectional shape perpendicular to the axial direction of the trunk portion is asymmetrical with respect to the axis, or the projection on the outer peripheral surface of the trunk portion Etc. may be provided.
Specifically, for example, as shown in FIG. 11, in the
Further, the water treatment cartridge of the present invention may be one in which no opening is formed in the body portion of the cartridge case. Specifically, an inner side wall having an opening is also provided near the front in the trunk, and an upper lid is provided in the same manner as the bottom 18 so that the water that has passed through the water treatment layer and the inner wall of the trunk It may be a water treatment cartridge that flows between the side walls and flows out from the upper opening end of the upper lid portion.
Moreover, an opening is formed in both the front side and the back side wall of the body part, and water flows into the body part from the opening part on the back side, and from the back side of the side surface substantially parallel to the axial direction in the water treatment layer. It is good also as a water treatment cartridge from which water flows toward the front side and water flows out from the opening part on the front side. In the water treatment cartridge of the present invention, water may flow from the front side of the side surface substantially parallel to the axial direction of the water treatment layer toward the back side.

In the shower head of the present invention described above, in the water treatment cartridge accommodated therein, water flows in the water treatment layer from the side surface substantially parallel to the axial direction of the water treatment layer toward the opposite side. It has become. Therefore, even if the water treatment cartridge is accommodated in the grip and the water treatment layer becomes longer in the axial direction, the pressure loss can be kept low while ensuring sufficient water treatment performance.

Further, a shower head in which the water treatment cartridge is accommodated near the head of the grip may be a shower head in which a part of the water treatment cartridge is accommodated in the grip portion and the remaining portion is accommodated in the head. Also good.
EXAMPLES Hereinafter, although an Example demonstrates this invention in detail, this invention is not limited by the following description.
[Measurement method of pressure loss]
About the water treatment cartridge of each example, the pressure loss when water was passed at a flow rate of 8 L / min was measured with a Bourdon tube pressure gauge.
[Exclusion rate]
The removal rate of magnesium ions and calcium ions contained in the water passed through the water treatment cartridge of each example was measured by an ICP emission spectrometer. The removal rate was measured at the beginning of water flow and after 100 L of water flow, respectively.

Table 1 shows the measurement results of the pressure loss when water was passed through the obtained water treatment cartridge.
As shown in Table 1, in the water treatment cartridge of Example 1, sufficient water treatment performance was obtained and the pressure loss was low. Further, since the water treatment cartridge of Example 1 has a small diameter, even if it is built in the grip of the shower head, the operability is good and the control of the water treatment performance is easy.
The water treatment cartridge of Comparative Example 1 has sufficient water treatment performance and low pressure loss. However, since the diameter is large, the grip becomes thick and difficult to hold when incorporated in the shower head grip.
Although the water treatment cartridge of Comparative Example 2 had high initial water treatment performance, sufficient water treatment performance was not obtained after 100 L water flow, and pressure loss was high.
The water treatment cartridge of Comparative Example 3 provided sufficient water treatment performance and low pressure loss, but controlled the flow rate of water flowing through the
The water treatment cartridge of Comparative Example 4 was able to obtain sufficient water treatment performance and low pressure loss, but its structure was complicated and difficult to manufacture.
