Abstract
Description
The present invention relates to a cleaning blade, an image forming apparatus, and a process cartridge.
2. Description of the Related Art Conventionally, in an electrophotographic image forming apparatus, unnecessary transfer residual toner adhering to a surface after transferring a toner image to a transfer paper or an intermediate transfer member is cleaned as a cleaning unit. Removed by device.
As a cleaning member of this cleaning device, one having a strip-shaped cleaning blade is known because the structure can be simplified and the cleaning performance is excellent.
As this type of cleaning blade, for example,
In addition, this cleaning blade is provided with a surface layer made of UV curable resin harder than the elastic blade at the tip ridge line portion, and further, UV curable resin is immersed in the tip of the elastic blade at the same depth as the width of the blade tip surface. Thus, the ultraviolet curable resin is impregnated in the vicinity of the tip of the blade, the tip of the blade lower surface facing the member to be cleaned, and the vicinity of the tip of the blade upper surface parallel to the blade lower surface. Thereby, the hardness of the tip ridge line portion is increased, and the tip ridge line portion can be prevented from being deformed in the surface moving direction of the image carrier. In addition, even when the surface layer wears over time and the leading edge of the elastic blade is exposed, the impregnated portion of the elastic blade comes into contact with the surface of the image carrier, and the frictional force generated between the elastic blade and the image carrier It is said that it can reduce, and it can suppress that the exposed part deform | transforms.
However, when the cleaning blade wears over time, the frictional force between the cleaning blade and the image carrier increases, thereby increasing the drive torque of the image carrier and adversely affecting the output of the high-definition image. For this reason, further wear resistance is desired.
In order to achieve the above-described problems, the present invention is composed of a strip-shaped elastic blade, is opposed to a member to be cleaned, is parallel to the thickness direction of the elastic blade, and is adjacent to the distal surface. In the cleaning blade, the upper surface of the blade parallel to the lower surface of the blade facing the member to be cleaned is impregnated with an ultraviolet curable resin, and contacts the surface of the member to be cleaned to remove the powder from the surface of the member to be cleaned.
The elastic blade has a fixing portion to which the upper surface of the blade is fixed, and the region of the blade upper surface impregnated with the ultraviolet curable resin is at least from the side in contact with the tip surface of the blade upper surface and the side The region of the fixing portion that extends from the center of the fixing portion side to the fixing portion side and the impregnation depth from the tip surface of the ultraviolet curable resin is 150 [μm] or more and 250 [μm] or less, The impregnation depth from the upper surface of the blade is 200 [μm] or more and 400 [μm] or less.
According to the present invention, there is an excellent effect that wear resistance can be improved by maintaining a stable cleaning property without causing a cleaning failure with a contact pressure lower than that of a conventional cleaning blade.

The charging device shown in FIG. 2 employs a non-contact proximity arrangement method in which the charging roller 4 is brought close to the photosensitive member 3. However, as the charging device of this embodiment, a corotron, a scorotron, a solid charger (solid charger) A known configuration such as a state charger can be used. Of these charging methods, a contact charging method or a non-contact proximity arrangement method is particularly desirable, and has advantages such as high charging efficiency and a small amount of ozone generation, and miniaturization of the apparatus.

In addition, various types of filters such as a sharp cut filter, a band pass filter, a near infrared cut filter, a dichroic filter, an interference filter, and a color temperature conversion filter can be used to irradiate only light in a desired wavelength range.
Among these light sources, light emitting diodes and semiconductor lasers are used favorably because they have high irradiation energy and long wavelength light of 600 to 800 [nm].
In addition to the
The secondary

The

A temperature sensor is disposed outside the loop of the fixing

When a print execution signal is received from the operation unit or the like, a predetermined voltage or current is sequentially applied to the charging roller 4 and the developing

The “circularity” here is an average circularity measured by a flow type particle image analyzer FPIA-2000 (manufactured by Toa Medical Electronics Co., Ltd.). Specifically, 0.1 to 0.5 [ml] of a surfactant (preferably alkylbenzene sulfonate) is added as a dispersant to 100 to 150 [ml] of water from which solid impurities have been removed in advance, and measurement is further performed. Add about 0.1 to 0.5 [g] of sample (toner). Thereafter, the suspension in which the toner is dispersed is dispersed by an ultrasonic disperser for about 1 to 3 minutes, and the dispersion concentration is set to 3000 to 10,000 [pieces / μL] and set in the above-described analyzer. Then, the shape and distribution of the toner particles are measured. Based on the measurement result, the perimeter (outer circumference) of the actual toner particle projection shape shown in FIG. 3A is C1, the projection area is S, and the area shown in FIG. C2 / C1 when the peripheral length (peripheral length) of C2 was C2 was determined, and the average value was defined as the circularity.
The volume average particle diameter can be determined by a Coulter counter method. Specifically, the toner number distribution and volume distribution data measured by the Coulter Multisizer 2e type (manufactured by Coulter) are sent to a personal computer for analysis via an interface (manufactured by Nikka Kikai). More specifically, a 1% NaCl aqueous solution using first grade sodium chloride is prepared as an electrolytic solution. Then, 0.1 to 5 [ml] of a surfactant (preferably alkylbenzene sulfonate) is added as a dispersant to the electrolytic aqueous solution 100 to 150 [ml]. Further, 2 to 20 [mg] of the toner of the test sample is added thereto, and the dispersion treatment is performed for about 1 to 3 [minutes] with an ultrasonic disperser. Then, 100 to 200 [ml] of the electrolytic solution is put into another beaker, and the solution after the dispersion treatment is added therein to a predetermined concentration, and applied to the Coulter Multisizer 2e type. The aperture is 100 [μm], and the particle size of 50,000 toner particles is measured. As a channel, it is less than 2.00-2.52 [micrometer]; 2.52-less than 3.17 [micrometer]; 3.17-less than 4.00 [micrometer]; 4.00-5.04 [micrometer] Less than 5.04 to 6.35 [μm]; 6.35 to less than 8.00 [μm]; 8.00 to less than 10.08 [μm]; 10.08 to less than 12.70 [μm]; 12.70 to less than 16.00 [μm]; 16.00 to less than 20.20 [μm]; 20.20 to less than 25.40 [μm]; 25.40 to less than 32.00 [μm]; Using 13 channels of 00 to less than 40.30 [μm], toner particles with a particle size of 2.00 [μm] or more and 32.0 [μm] or less are targeted. Then, the volume average particle diameter is calculated based on the relational expression “volume average particle diameter = ΣDfV / ΣfV”. However, “D” is the representative diameter in each channel, “V” is the equivalent volume in the representative diameter of each channel, and “f” is the number of particles in each channel.

Therefore, if the contact pressure of the

The
その原材料としては、OH価28〜168の2個又は3個の水酸基を持つポリオールと、TDI(トリレンジイソシアネート)、MDI(ジフェニルメタンジイソシアネート)、IPDI(イソホロンジイソシアネート)、HDI(ヘキサメチレンジイソシアネート)、NDI(ナフタレンジイソシアネート)、TODI(ジメチルビフェニルジイソシアネート)などのジイソシアネートと、エチレングリコール、プロパンジオール、ブタンジオール、ペンタンジオール、ヘキサンジオール、グリセリン、トリメチロールエタン、トリメチロールプロパンなどのOH価950〜1830の短鎖ポリオールが好適である。
The
Urethane rubber suitable for the
The
The
As shown in FIG. 4B, an impregnated
As shown in FIG. 4C, when a surface layer is provided, the
As the fluorinated acrylic monomer, an acrylate having a perfluoropolyether skeleton and having two or more functional groups is particularly suitable. Specific examples thereof include Daikin Corporation: OPTOOL DAC-HP, DIC Corporation: RS-75, and the like.
Further, durability can be improved by impregnating with an ultraviolet curable resin monomer and irradiating with ultraviolet rays.
The reason why the durability can be improved is that the formation of a UV-curable resin network chain inside the rubber increases the cross-linking density of the rubber itself, thereby improving the wear resistance. It is a possibility. In this case, the point is that the ultraviolet curable resin and the urethane rubber are hardly chemically bonded. By suppressing the reaction with the urethane rubber, it is possible to suppress the crosslink density from being increased so that it becomes a state closer to glass rather than a rubber. Thereby, it is considered that the movement of the tip
The
Further, it is preferable to use an ultraviolet curable resin as the material of the
As the ultraviolet curable resin monomer, a monomer having a functional group equivalent molecular weight of 350 or less and a pentaerythritol triacrylate having 3 to 6 functional groups as a main skeleton is preferably used. If a monomer having a functional group equivalent molecular weight of 350 or less and a main skeleton of pentaerythritol triacrylate is used, the
The same material can be used for all or part of the material for the
Further, the thickness of the
When the
In the configuration in which the
Both the impregnation treatment and the
That is, when the elasticity of the
In particular, in an image forming apparatus having a lubricant application mechanism, viscosity is generated by the charge deterioration of the lubricant applied on the photosensitive member by the charging device using a charging roller. Accordingly, as a side effect, the followability of the
In order to suppress such poor cleaning due to a decrease in the followability to the surface of the image carrier, it is preferable to set the range of the impregnation treatment in the
If the impregnation depth is within these ranges, the occurrence of the above-mentioned cleaning failure can be reliably suppressed. That is, if the impregnation depth is equal to or greater than the lower limit of the above range, the tip edge line portion of the
Further, for the same reason that the
The increase in the photosensitive member driving torque induces a reduction in image quality due to jitter and misalignment in a so-called tandem system that combines a plurality of image forming units. In the
In addition, it is considered that the impregnation treatment on the blade
In addition, since adhesion and follow-up with the image carrier can be maintained in a state where the contact pressure of the cleaning blade with the image carrier is reduced, the adhering material such as toner adheres to the cleaning blade and the image carrier. Filming and foreign matter adhesion caused by being pushed into the image carrier by the contact pressure of the cleaning blade when passing through the gap.
Furthermore, in addition to the impregnation treatment on the upper surface of the blade, the impregnation depth of the impregnation treatment of the

Each cleaning blade was manufactured by changing the impregnation depth of the
A verification experiment was performed for each of these cleaning blades as follows. The results of this verification experiment are shown in Table 2.
<Production of image forming apparatus for which verification experiment was performed>
Using each of the above urethane rubbers, each strip-shaped elastic blade having a thickness of 1.8 [mm] was produced. Next, each blade tip was immersed in each of the above-mentioned cured materials at a depth substantially equal to the thickness of 1.8 [mm] for a predetermined time, and was appropriately impregnated. Subsequently, an appropriate adhesive tape was applied to the upper surface of the blade. Masking was performed with (made of PTFE), and the impregnation treatment was performed in the same manner, followed by air drying for 3 minutes. Then, the surface layer was formed using each hardening material with the spray coating method with respect to what provided a surface layer in a blade front end surface. The surface layer is first formed by spray coating, with a spray gun moving speed of 10 [mm / s], overlaid on the blade tip surface to a predetermined thickness from the blade tip surface, and touched for 3 minutes. Dried. Thereafter, ultraviolet exposure (2000 [mJ / cm 2] × 3 passes) was performed. In addition, the area | region which forms a surface layer by spray coating was restrict | limited with the masking tape.
The thickness of the surface layer was measured by a cross section of the elastic blade using a microscope VHX-100 manufactured by Keyence Corporation. The measurement sample was a cross-section cut using a trimming razor for SEM sample preparation manufactured by Nisshin EM.
As described above, the impregnation treatment detects the impregnation material and the surface layer material in the vicinity of the tip ridge line portion of the elastic blade, but the detection intensity decreases from the surface side where the impregnation treatment is performed. It is formed with a so-called concentration gradient. Therefore, the impregnation depth is a distance from the surface side where the impregnation material and the surface layer material are hardly detected. Specifically, the measurement of the impregnation depth (impregnation treatment region) was performed as follows.
A cross-sectional slice of the edge portion of the target sample was prepared with a cryomicrotome (EM / FCS, manufactured by Leica) and measured with a transmission microscope FT-IR (Continuum infrared microscope, manufactured by Thermo Electron). As shown in FIG. 5, the change in the cross section was measured as appropriate with reference to the
The measurement of the upper surface impregnation width was performed as follows.
In the upper surface impregnation step, a portion not impregnated before being impregnated was masked with PTFE adhesive tape (3490, 3M), and then predetermined impregnation was performed by dipping treatment. At this time, the length from the blade tip surface to the impregnation part was defined as the impregnation width.
The width of the region not fixed by the
The elastic blade formed as described above was fixed with an adhesive to a sheet metal holder that can be mounted on the color composite machine “imageo MP C5000” manufactured by Ricoh Co., Ltd., to obtain a prototype cleaning blade. This was attached to the above imagio MP C5000 (same configuration as in FIG. 1), and each image forming apparatus was produced. The cleaning blade was attached with a linear pressure and a cleaning angle set according to a predetermined tip biting amount and attachment angle. The linear pressure was 15 [g / cm].

In the verification experiment, a 100,000 sheets (A4 landscape) paper passing test was performed with a laboratory environment: 21 [° C.] and 65 [% RH], a paper passing condition: an image area ratio of 5%, 3 prints / job.
The following items were evaluated.
[Evaluation item]
・ Blade edge wear amount (wear cross-sectional area): As shown in FIG. 6, the wear cross-sectional area from the initial state of wear width (The above wear amount is measured with respect to the blade edge using a laser microscope VK-9500 manufactured by Keyence Corporation. Measured from above 45 degrees, and measured after passing 100,000 sheets.)
・ Linear pressure at which cleaning failure occurs: A single evaluation machine that reproduces the layout equivalent to that of a color MFP is used, a blade after a 100,000 sheet passing test is mounted, and the toner development amount on the photosensitive member is set to a reflection density of 0.15. The cleaning property was evaluated. The linear pressure of the blade was reduced from the standard value of 20 [g / cm], and the maximum linear pressure at which cleaning failure due to toner slipping occurred was defined as a no-chest generation linear pressure.
Abnormal sound: Whether or not chatter (low frequency of several hundred Hz) and squeal (high frequency of several kHz) were judged by hearing.
In each of the first to ninth embodiments, the
From this, in Examples 1-9, it is thought that the contact linear pressure of a cleaning blade can be set by 8 [g / cm]-16 [g / cm].
In particular, in Examples 1 to 8, the linear pressure at which cleaning failure occurred was 7 to 12 [g / cm]. From this, it is considered that the linear pressure in Examples 1 to 8 can be set to 8 to 13 [g / cm].
Since the contact linear pressure set by the conventional cleaning blade is 20 [g / cm], in Examples 1 to 9, it can be considered that the contact linear pressure can be set lower than the conventional one. Further, in Examples 1 to 8, the contact line pressure set at about 20 [g / cm] with the conventional cleaning blade can be reduced to about ½.
As described above, the reason why the linear pressure at which cleaning failure occurs in Examples 1 to 9 can be lowered can be considered as follows.
That is, by setting the impregnation depth within the above range, the cleaning force of the cleaning blade is reduced to prevent the occurrence of cleaning failure, and the adhesion with the photoreceptor is reduced to prevent the occurrence of cleaning failure. be able to. Further, the impregnation treatment of the blade
Further, as described above, in Examples 1 to 9, the contact linear pressure on the image carrier can be set to a lower value than that of the conventional cleaning blade. Accordingly, in Examples 1 to 9, it is possible to reduce the frictional force between the image carrier and the cleaning blade caused by the cleaning blade coming into contact with the image carrier, and the friction between the image carrier and the cleaning blade can be reduced. The amount of wear of the blade contact portion due to force can be reduced. Therefore, it is considered possible to further improve the durability (wear resistance).
In each of Examples 1 to 8, a
On the other hand, in Example 9, since the surface layer is not provided, it is considered that the tip
In Comparative Examples 1 to 5, the linear pressure at which cleaning failure occurred was 15 [g / cm] or more, which was about the set value for the paper passing test. This is a situation in which defective cleaning tends to occur after passing 100,000 sheets. In addition, this situation is considered to indicate that the cleaning function is deteriorated due to the low contact linear pressure of the cleaning blade, and it is considered that the cleaning property is inferior to Examples 1 to 8. . In each of Comparative Examples 1 to 5, the blade edge wear amount was larger than those in Examples 1 to 9.
In Comparative Example 1 and Comparative Example 3, the impregnation depth of the blade tip surface is 150 [μm] or less and the impregnation depth of the upper surface is 200 [μm] or less. Deformation occurs, the damming force is reduced, and cleaning failure is likely to occur. Further, since the thickness of the surface layer is 1.0 [μm] or more, the followability to the image carrier is lowered, toner is slipped out, and cleaning failure is likely to occur. Therefore, in order to prevent the toner from slipping through, it is necessary to increase the contact pressure of the cleaning blade, and it is considered that the cleaning defective occurrence linear pressure is higher than those in Examples 1-8.
In both Comparative Example 2 and Comparative Example 4, the generation of abnormal noise was recognized, and stable operation was not obtained. In Comparative Example 2, since the surface layer is not provided, it is considered that the tip
Further, in Comparative Example 5, since the impregnation depth of the blade tip surface is 250 [μm] or more and the impregnation depth of the upper surface is 400 [μm] or more, the rigidity is increased and the adhesion to the photoreceptor is lowered. However, defective cleaning tends to occur. For this reason, it is necessary to increase the contact pressure of the cleaning blade in order to maintain the cleaning performance, and it is considered that the linear pressure at which cleaning failure occurred after passing 100,000 sheets was higher than those in Examples 1-8.

What was demonstrated above is an example, and there exists an effect peculiar for every following aspect.
(Aspect A)
A front end surface such as a blade
The elastic blade has a fixing portion such as a
According to this aspect, as shown in the verification experiment, after the 100,000 sheet passing test of the cleaning blade, it is lower than 20 [g / cm] which is the contact linear pressure set by the conventional cleaning blade. The occurrence of poor cleaning could be suppressed by the contact line pressure. The reason for this is that by setting the impregnation depth within the above range, the dampening force does not decrease and cleaning failure occurs, and adhesion with the photoreceptor does not decrease and cleaning failure does not occur. Further, it is considered that the contact state with the image carrier can be stabilized by the impregnation treatment on the upper surface of the blade.
For this reason, even if the contact linear pressure against the image carrier is set to a value lower than the contact linear pressure set by the conventional cleaning blade, it is possible to maintain a stable cleaning property without causing a cleaning failure.
Also, by setting the contact linear pressure against the image carrier to a value lower than the contact linear pressure of the conventional cleaning blade, the frictional force between the image carrier and the cleaning blade generated when the cleaning blade comes into contact with the image carrier. Can be reduced. As a result, it is possible to reduce the amount of wear of the blade contact portion due to the frictional force between the image carrier and the cleaning blade.
Therefore, according to this aspect, it is possible to maintain a stable cleaning property without causing a defective cleaning with a contact pressure lower than that of a conventional cleaning blade, and to improve wear resistance.
